The Reign of Terra (Ryzen); 1999-2003

We can all pretty much agree that WWE's product is in worse shape than it was in late-1999, when Triple H started getting his big push into the main event. And some people will blame almost everything that's gone wrong from that early push up to this point -- where HHH is seemingly at the height of his backstage power -- on the current RAW champ.

But how much of what's wrong with the company can be blamed on HHH? How bad has he really been for the creative and business end of things? A lot of people ignore that HHH was a major player in the WWF's great run in 2000. Was that before he started having a say in booking?

Just wondering what specific things people are blaming on HHH.

- Jericho's burial (all 4000 of them)

- Kane's burial

- RVD's burial

- Booker T's burial

There's a start, people can add on when they wish......

2000/01 were the WWEs most successful years. But I consider the HHH/Angle program in mid 2000 to be the beginning of the end for the WWE. In 2000 HHH did programs with all three guys who were supposed to be elevated: Benoit, Jericho, Angle. He didn't put over any of them. They should have created stars when they had the chance, but they didn't, and how much it hurt the company is seen for the past 2 years.

What the fuck difference does that make? How does that help us in 2003?

He started fucking the Stephanator around Fall of that year. Low and behold, the Love Triange got screwed.

- Kane's burial

Well he was bound to get one right.

That just disputes the fact that HHH has been all bad for WWE, which some people believe.

How does it disupte that? He's still a problem for the WWE NOW. Him not being a problem in the past doesn't help.

He's still stunting the growth and ruining the credibility of the stars on RAW who should be contenders.

HHH was a major player who helped prevent the elevation of new major players in 2000. Which turned out to cost the WWE dearly in 2001, 2002, and 2003 when they had no credible main eventers (Hmm, which leads to them bringing back stars from the past...)

Notice how one bad thing leads to another?

And as I have said before, the only one to pull WWE out of this nosedive is one Vincent Kennedy McMahon Jr.

I think he has noticed that his company is not making as much money as it was two ot three years ago (hence the closing of the World, which was not a great idea to start with, but digress). But is so locked into his own method of doing things that he cannot break out of the cycle. There are approximately what, five to eight wrestlers that are certified (by the fans and the smarks alike) main event status, yet why is it that they get buried shortly after doing an angle/storyline with HHH?

Hypothetical question, we all know the answer to that one. But again, as long as he is making even minimal profits, Vince will not change things until its too late.

I would say he started becoming a cancer to the WWF(e) in early 2001. The guy was very good imo in 2000 with some great feuds. If you think about it The Rock put him over, Cactus Jack put him over, Stone Cold put him over, Kurt Angle put him over..........and the fuckin guy hasnt done that for anybody else.

1) His return from the quad injury is when it got REALLY REALLY bad. I hated the fact that he won the Royal Rumble in his FIRST match back.

2) His WMX8 feud was based on JEricho being Stephanie's bitch and the dog got more heat and air time than poor Chris. Jericho ended up being HHH's bitch......stephanie's bitch....and even the dog's bitch in the end.

3) The day after SummerSlam i was there live and HHH couldnt even let Brock celebrate his newly won title. He came out in HBK's entrance basically badmouthed Brock and out comes Taker, and all of a sudden RAW is focused on Taker vs. HHH instead of the new Champ. Brock basically looks like a bitch by fleeing Raw to go to SMackdown.

4)HHH is handed a bogus title in Sept. and with the exception of a little 3 week reign by his good HBK, he has put absolutely NOBODY over, and every title match pretty much looks the same over and over again. Now it looks like noone is in his league on the show.

5) Kane ---- HHH made him look like an ass and killed his heat withthe KAtie Vick garbage, and pinned him on top of it killing his heat.

RVD ----- HHH punks out RVD and pins him killing his heat.

Jericho ---- HHH has buried him about.....27 times now.

Booker T ---- HHH makes him look like a worthless nigger (Edit: According to the storyline) who's not worthy of the title, and pins him cleanly.

Ric Flair ---- HHH acts like a wannabe Flair now down to the lavender colored trunks, and makes Flair look like his lackey and caddy.

Here's an interesting note: All time in WrestleMania the heel has successfully defended a world title only 2 times in 12 defenses. Guess which heel did it BOTH times......yup, good ol' HHH. Thanks Hunter..dick!

I have no problem with HHH's 99-00 run. CAUSE HE WAS AN OVER HEEL! But today he's not half as over and he's being treated like he is. That's my problem.

People don't bitch about Flair's long reigns, cause he was over enough to justify it. And sticking him with Hunter takes away more heat then it adds.

HHH needs a good feud with the title not being an issue.

And You KNOW when he loses to Nash, he's winning the next month to make himself the Flair of the WWF (Most championships, 8 Five Real, Three Fake)

At that point, they may as well dust off the "Fingerpoke of Doom". No sense putting any Clique quads at risk by making the participants actually wrestle a match, no?

That was the TRUE rise of HHH's "so-called" politcal power backstage, when he had Foley, Rock, Austin, and Angle (whom I will refer to as the Big Four) put him over to start this whole heel run. God only knows a lot of people wanted HHH to get his ass handed to him on a silver platter during his run with Foley, because everything that was done was to establish HHH as a "Cerebral Assassin", who will do anything to win.

Now everything comes full circle, and HHH is in the position of putting over those such as Jericho, Booker, Kane, and RVD (the latest Big Four), and they get buried.

While it is not his fault totally, as the writers (Re: Stephanie) keep him where he is, he's not doing the right thing either by continuing the cycle. Every week that this goes by, its just more and more indications that the E is sinking fast.

On another note: Rudo, just what the HELL is up with your banner?? it's more than a little disturbing.

It's Vanderlei Silva, and Mark Coleman from Pride in Japan in a shaving commercial. Looks a tad on the fruity side, but Silva still looks like a maniac. Coleman on the other hand......eh.....looks like a total goof.
