TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 Again I ask, who ISN'T in this movie? The king of spoof films, Leslie Nielsen, has joined the cast of Scary Movie 3. The movie will mark a reunion for Nielsen and director David Zucker, who teamed on the classic Airplane!. Shooting for the film has already started. Nielsen joins a cast that already includes Charlie Sheen, Denise Richards, Anna Faris, Eddie Griffin, Jeremy Piven, Anthony Anderson, Simon Rex, and Regina Hall. The film is due out on October 3rd. Credit: Variety I hated the second one but this one has promise. David Zucker directing, the cast including Charlie Sheen and Anthony Anderson and most importantly... Eddie Griffin and Leslie Nielsen in the same friggin movie. And before you ask I'm a huge Nielsen mark and loved Griffin ever since Double Take.
Guest Downhome Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 I will now officially watch this film.
Guest bob_barron Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 Are you going to download it and then go to the theatre and buy a ticket for it?
Guest Polish_Rifle Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 Leslie Nielsen's spoof films are the best. I wish they would make another Naked Gun movie with OJ.
Yuna_Firerose Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 Why in the hell are they making a THIRD Scary Movie? The first one ruled, the second one should be burned.......so, by equation, the third will either be average, great, or suck as bad as the second.
Guest Ravenbomb Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 since when does Nielson being in it make it a great spoof movie? Have you SEEN 2001: A Space Travesty?
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 Indeed. Nothing Nielson has done since the Naked Guns has been genius. Spy Hard was ok.
Guest Lethargic Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 I've thought Scary Movie 3 has had hope since David Zucker and Kevin Smith were brought on board to make it. Those two guys together? How can it NOT be funny?
Guest Marshall Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 Kevin Smith has nothing to do with the movie, he's getting a executive producer credit because he recomended one of the writers (Brian Lynch) to Zucker. Kevin Smith is doing anything else for this movie. Brian Lynch however should make it pretty funny.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 Hey guys, how many times can you whip cliches into the ground before you become a cliche yourself?
Guest spiny norman Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 The second one had Tim Curry and was still bad, so I'm not holding out my hopes that Leslie Nielsen can save it. But you never know.
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 More Scary Movie News: Since the cast and crew of Scary Movie 3 are confident with what they've seen so far...Scary Movie 4 has already gotten the green light. When does filming start... ? IN JUNE! Scary Movie 3 doesn't even come out till October. Hell, by then...SM4 should be finishing up production.
Yuna_Firerose Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 Scary Movie FOUR?!? *twitch* The second one had Tim Curry and was still bad, so I'm not holding out my hopes that Leslie Nielsen can save it. But you never know. Don't forget James Woods......wait, he was actually given a decent part. Tim Curry was simply the horny Professor. And after checking out IMDB's "rather dull public web site" I find it simply pathetic that the Wayans are the first two names listed in the credits. Can't say I'm surprised, though.

I'm sure he's only polishing up the script with a joke or two, other than that he has nothing to do with the SM3.
Guest Lethargic Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 I read that he wrote the first draft of the script then Zucker and his team then came in and rewrote and polished it.
Guest evenflowDDT Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 since when does Nielson being in it make it a great spoof movie? Have you SEEN 2001: A Space Travesty? Thanks Ravenbomb & IDRM, for bringing in a sense of reason. 2001: A Space Travesty ranks up there with the worst movies I've ever seen. Other than the Naked Gun's, Leslie Nielsen ain't shit. And as for a cast making a picture... ummm, I didn't really like Ocean's Eleven (speaking of which... Ocean's Twelve? WTF?)
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 Leslie Nielsan has admittedly been in some clunkers. But for whatever reason I am just happy when that guy is on screen. Seems like he's having a good time with every role and with the proper writing (Naked Gun films, Airplane!, etc..) his dead pan stupidity is awesome.
Guest RenegadeX28 Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 Oh man, Leslie Nielsen....ok, any movie he is in, I AM THERE.
Mecha Mummy Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 Uh, Nielsen being in a movie does NOT make it good, like it has been said before. Still, this one could actually be good.
Guest Marshall Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 I read that he wrote the first draft of the script then Zucker and his team then came in and rewrote and polished it. From the man himself: My involvement with SCARY MOVIE 3. Here's the story: After the Wayans brothers took what was supposed to be SCARY MOVIE 3 elsewhere, Bob Weinstein called and asked if I'd look at the Dimension draft of the latest SCARY MOVIE when they were done with it, and maybe add a joke here or there. I asked him who was writing it, and he said he hadn't assigned it yet. So I suggested a guy I knew was perfect for the gig: Poop Shoot's own Brian Lynch. Bob met with Brian, and brought him on as one of the writers, along with David Zucker and Pat Profft. For this, I was offered an Exec Producer credit. Somehow, the trades translated this as me Co-Writing. If maybe doing a polish on a script that will be far funnier than anything I can think up is considered Co-Writing, then I guess I'm a Co-Writer. However, with these three funny guys involved, chances are, I'll have nothing to add but the sound of my laughter (with, mind you; not at). http://www.moviepoopshoot.com/jerseygirl/index.html I hope it'll be funny but I still have low expectations after the second movie.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 It will probably be Leslie Nielsen farting the entire time. He used to bring a fart machine, when he was with Carson. That's the level of humor I'd expect from Scary Movie.
Guest RepoMan Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 Other than the Naked Gun's, Leslie Nielsen ain't shit. His investigation concerning the whereabouts of the Undertaker was GOLD I tells ya.
