Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted April 25, 2003 I'm happy that Cena is getting a push. He's gotten over and it's nice to see that rewarded. I'll leave that as a positive and put my blinders on as to how he will be buried soon after.
Guest Lil Naitch Report post Posted April 25, 2003 You know what will happen? the PPV will bomb, and they will blame Cena, saying he has no drawing power, or Goldberg for not working the "WWE Style", or both for the hell of it. No blame will go to anybody else for not hyping the damn PPV. Honestly, I forgot it was 3 days away. I thought it was NEXT WEEK!
Guest papacita Report post Posted April 25, 2003 I'm glad he's getting pushed too, but the whole thing just seems too rushed to me. It would be much easier for me to get excited about the match if it were at the July PPV or even at Judgment Day, after Cena was allowed to get a PPV win or 2 and pick up some more momentum. Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted April 25, 2003 No, it's because they included Jericho and Booker into the 6 man... The buyrate would have skyrocketed w/ Waltman and Hall

Although I would love to see Goldberg become another Steiner. **** Goldberg! (now PG-13 rated!)
Guest Space_Cowboy Report post Posted April 25, 2003 I couldn't care in the slightest. Cena seemingly getting a push is alright, but there's 0 chance he's going to win and will probably get shoved back down into the midcard right after anyway.
Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2003 Truth of the matter is, the midcard is where he belongs. I feel sorry for Benoit, because he deserves the title, but there is no way he is getting it, what with Brock only having it for a month.... I justhope he gets it at some point. Off to buy dinner before concluding the rest of my work shift
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted April 25, 2003 I'm actually going to Backlash. I feel like the only person who is. I think after Backlash, I'm going to take a lengthy break on going to wrestling events, especially since they haven't been great for a while.
Guest VinnySmack Report post Posted April 25, 2003 I will order it, but only the Webcast. I do not even know the card however. To spite the WWE you should hook the board up with the URL to put in our Windows Media Player so we can watch it like we did No Way Out.

Guest eirejmcmahon Report post Posted April 25, 2003 The quality of the WWE product is so poor at the moment that I can't even be bothered feeling frustrated about their awful misuse of their talent roster. I've no interest in their weekly shows or monthly PPVs at the moment.
Garth 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2003 I'm ordering it over here in the UK as its only £14 might as well, and i need to keep my tradition of watchiing every ppv alive, at least as its repeated every day again till next Sunday i can record it and sell it for £5 a pop to my mark friends at school
Guest jester Report post Posted April 25, 2003 I'm not interested in Backlash in the slightest. I can't think of a match that means anything to me or isn't brutally predictable.
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted April 25, 2003 It's not even worth calling it a PPV. On a totally unrelated and positive note, only 2-3 more months until Lita returns!
Guest wildpegasus Report post Posted April 25, 2003 I'll probably be watching it since I can watch it for free. If I had to pay there'd be absolutely no way on Earth I 'd be seeing Backlash. If the bookers are too stupid leaving Benoit out of the PPV because they can't find anything for him to do then they certainly don't deserve any buys for the Backlash PPV at all. This marks 3 PPVs in a row where they have wasted Benoit on the card. Now, it looks like there may even be a 4th next month.Unbeliavable.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 25, 2003 Benoit was wasted at Rumble? Main event for the title. No Way Out-Six Man Tag Match... WM-3 Way Tag Match... Doesnt sound like he was wasted... Backlash isn't drawing any attention from me...I asked some of Mark friends about it and they went "Eh" "Forgot" "Who Cares"... I might not even go to the Bar like usual...Might as well Spend Those 15 bucks on something else instead... I am betting I am Watching via Reports here... Guest Cerebus Report post Posted April 25, 2003 My friend's got a box and he's taping it so i"m just going to fast forward through all the crap (about 90% of it) and watch what I want to see (i.e. Lesner vs. Cena)
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted April 25, 2003 Track Benoits movements since his return. Tag Match Vengeance (Loss) IC title match Summerslam (Loss) Singles Match Unforgiven (Win) Tag title Match No Mercy (Win) 3 Way Tag match Survivor Series (loss) Singles Match Armageddon (Win) WWE Title Match Royal Rumble (Loss) 6 Man Tag NWO (Win) 3 Way Tag WM (Loss) No Match W/L on PPV = 4 Wins, 5 Losses. W/L on the *big-4* PPV's = 0/4. W/L in title matches = 1/3 Chris Benoit - a Singles Wrestler - has been in a Tag Match in 5/10 PPV's since his return to competitive action. Will miss one PPV for no real reason other than "nothing for him" which in itself is an insult. Has been in 1 Main Event (Rumble), which can be contributed with elevating Kurt Angle rather than Benoit since the only time Benoit is anywhere near the top is when he has to make Angle look fabulous. Other than that he is painfully stuck in the dead centre of the card. He has had 5 title shots (IC at SumSlam, Tag at NM, Tag at SSer, WWE at RR, Tag at WM) and won once (with Angle) and lost it 2 weeks later. He has fluctuated from Mid-Card (where he usually is there to balance another talent they don't know how to use - RVD, Eddie), to Upper-Mid Card (usually w. Angle) so much over the span of his WWE career it has become painfully clear the WWE does not trust Benoit at all with any ball they give him - but they do trust that he will make anyone they put in there with him better than they really are. So yeah, given his superlative wrestling abilities and the potential for overness if pushed, yeah, he is being very wasted.
Guest wildpegasus Report post Posted April 25, 2003 Rumble? I didn't say he was wasted No Way Out: Had nothing for him and then he got lost in a 6 man tag match. WM Tag Match: This match was 8 minutes. Need I say more? Backlash: It looks like he's not even going to be there Judgement Day: So far it doesn't look too promising
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted April 25, 2003 anyone notice that TBS is running he Goldberg vs Rock Backlash commercial? Before someone says "It was rrobably just a PPV spot the cable co. put on the channel" it wasn't because I have a satellite dish and the TBS feed is untouched from how they originally aired it.
Guest the pinjockey Report post Posted April 25, 2003 Yeah I saw they ran it last night. Maybe they are just trying to get a massive ad campaign for the Rock/Goldberg match, try to find something that ex-wrestling fans watch and try to get them back. Not a bad strategy, make an attempt to capitalize on the short term Goldberg gain.
Yuna_Firerose 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2003 Even if we could afford it, which we can't, I still wouldn't order. Just a 'blah' card that means nothing to me. Besides, they'll recap everything important on the next shows.
Guest SP-1 Report post Posted April 25, 2003 Backlash? You mean the reaction to a prior event? Well, scientifically it is an interesting concept, and certainly one observed often in natur-- Oh! OH! There's a WWE PPV this Sunday? I might go to see Rock/Goldberg, if for nothing else than for comedic value. But even so, I'd rather download an episode of the Simpsons and watch it six times than sit through Backlash.
Guest MrRant Report post Posted April 25, 2003 Brock/Cena will be interesting. And of course I will be watching at work so might as well tune in.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted April 26, 2003 It's probably for the best that they're going to switch to brand ppvs. It's too hard to build an angle up right with the few shows each brand has in between ppvs.
