I got to see Jerry Lynn face RVD the night everyone in the ECW Arena WANTED Lynn to beat RVD.

Hey Bob, were you at Pillman 2000, cause I still have the honor of being live to witness Benoit/Regal.

Seeing this, makes me ask once again...

...why the HELL will WWE not release a series of DVD's just filled to the rim with older stuff like this!?

Just go on ebay and start snagging those Best of the WWF volumes lot of old matches on them.

one of them got the rarely seen Gorilla Monsoon vs Muhammid Ali match.

I know I can do that, but it isn't the same. I want it all neatly packed on DVD with various extras like commentaries and the such. I just don't see why they don't do it, as I really think they could make tons of money from it if they marketed it the right way.

I think that they believe that none of their fanbase would want to buy a DVD with matches from 1980. I would but I think most of the fans wouldn't even bother

I'm sure that many new fans wouldn't pick it up, but that isn't who they should market it to. I know many older people who would love some older stuff on DVD, from back when they DID love Pro. Wrestling.

But those old fans don't watch WWE anymore and many of them hate Vince for what he did to wrestling. I'd love to see the DVD as well but from a marketing perspective it wouldn't make sense to put out something that a majority of your fanbase wouldn't buy

Didn't they Release Anthology? That showed there was a market for the Mid/Late 80's to be sold again...

I am sure WWE could sell a "The Greatest Matches in Wrestling" DVD perty well...

All of these quotes look like a warp scene from a bad sci-fi movie

You do not understand what I'm saying. You wouldn't market as you do current WWE. Vince would have to tactfully place advertisements where his target for said DVD's would see it, and do so in a way that would be very nostalgic.

Where would you advertise it though?? If they don't watch WWE TV then you can't do it there. It just sounds too difficult to sell.

They could buy time on various channels like TV Land, or even certain times on the news networks. Like I said though, you couldn't market it as you do todays product, you would have to do so with a touch from the past.

Ahh...so Monsoon wasn't exactly a Jimmy Snuka bodywise. :P I guess he wasn't exactly a "name" wrestler though, since you don't hear too much about his career.

Monsoon was a pretty big name back in the 60s and 70s. He was one of the WWF's top draws

I had William Regal draw my name to win the Autographed belt at Pillman 2001 AND got to receive it from him in the ring.

I WILL get the photo scanned for proof.

At another indy show I went to, Lenny Lane wrestled almost the entire match with the back of his tights pulled down, ugh.

My brother met Craig "Pitbull" Pitman at a gas station in Atlanta, GA...

...hey, it was a cool deal back in the day. It was right at the height (ok, so it wasn't that major) of his career in WCW.
