Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted April 29, 2003 Tonight on Raw after Bischoff pinned Trish in a boring as shit segment a "Wrestlingfigures.com" sign poped up in the background. I told my friend that wouldn't be there in a second, since WWE yanks people's signs promoting any other sites. Sure enough that sign was gone...but then the guy put up another smaller wrestlingfigures.com sign, a yellow one. I looked over to my friend and said "he's done" And sure enough a couple guys in white shirts walked over to his seat and took him out. He was in the front row and this part would have been durring the Eric/Linda segment. Do you think they should be able to do that to people who pay for tickets? I know it's advertising and all, but they use to go on and on about "bring your signs!" I think they draw more attention with crap like this.
Zetterberg is God 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2003 I think it's complete crap. People pay good money to be at these events. They should be able to bring whatever sign they want. It's not like these signs are detrimental to the company. Give it a rest with this shit.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted April 29, 2003 I believe it is illegal to shill sites with signs.
Guest ISportsFan Report post Posted April 29, 2003 I believe it is illegal to shill sites with signs. Like an actual national law or "illegal" to WWE? Jason
Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 29, 2003 I don't know about that but I don't agree with it. Remember WCW used to EDIT the signs for Taped Thunder...

Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted April 29, 2003 My favorite WCW sign of all time was an "I'd Rather be at Raw" sign. Sure it's simple, but it was at one of their outdoor shows and the sign was right behind Tony and Mike. And the best part was you could see a guy in a WCW shirt trying to direct other people to put their sings up in front of that one...I laughed my balls off. Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 29, 2003 I don't know about that but I don't agree with it. Remember WCW used to EDIT the signs for Taped Thunder... Edit? Since Thunder was Taped...If a sign said "Goldberg Sucks" They would edit to say "Goldberg Rules"
Guest wildpegasus Report post Posted April 29, 2003 This is the one thing that always bugged me about the taking away of signs. The WWF has been doing this for a while and yet they'd always go on about freedom of speech for their fans especially during the Right to Censor days. They'd constantly cry about the RTC and how evil they were for their beliefs. Yet, the WWE does the same exact thing. Hyprocrites.

Guest deadbeater Report post Posted April 29, 2003 Just eliminate the .com, or decorate it l33t style, like dot komissar.
Guest Mole Report post Posted April 29, 2003 When I was at Raw in January, I heard the security guys talking about how you can't have signs with websites and profanity. I understand the profanity, but not the websites.

Guest Galactic Gigolo Report post Posted April 29, 2003 The reason WWE takes signs like that away is the same reason why radio stations don't like you to do plugs on air. Not only because of money, but because you gotta wonder how much bad PR WWE would get if the WrestlingFigures.com guy went home that night and changed the site to a horse fucking an eight-year old girl with no legs. I work in PR, and that, combined with the fact that $200 for front row seats does not give you the right to advertise your site which others pay tens of thousands of dollars for, is why they won't let it stay up long. And here's the Nitro image.

Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted April 29, 2003 And here's the Nitro image. YES! A guy appears on the left side of Tony and tries to get the two signs on each side of that to cover it. It's so funny watching that go on for minutes and it not working.
Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted April 29, 2003 When I went to Raw in '98, I had an ECW sign, and a WWE employee with a headset on came up to me and just said, "everyone in your section will hate you because we won't feature your section because of that sign" I just shrugged him off and sure enough when I went home I was clearly seen on camera, as it would be impossible to edit out someone in the FRONT ROW in the corner of the ramp and ring. The only sign I remember getting yanked back then was from some kid who's sign said, "Sable: FUCK ME" Now compare that when I went to Nitro. I had all my signs yanked because one of them was an ECW sign. They didn't even bother looking at the other ones. Also they made me put my flannel on over my ECW shirt. Guest Coffey Report post Posted April 29, 2003 Now compare that when I went to Nitro... they made me put my flannel on over my ECW shirt. You have got to be fucking shitting me! That is the dumbest shit I have ever read in my entire life. I'm glad that WCW is out of business after reading that fucking shit. Cocksuckers. Half their goddamn roster came from ECW. Guest TheBigCalbowski Report post Posted April 29, 2003 I noticed that the "Goldberg Fears Jericho" sign got yanked pretty damn quickly. Please tell me you're kidding. I was there last night and it's true. Also in the front row, some guy had a Roidzilla sign with a pretty well drawn picture on it. He held it up between matches during the SNH taping and it got taken away.

Guest mach7 Report post Posted April 29, 2003 People pay an upwards of 50 to 100 dollars to go to these shitty events. Does it even say anywhere on the ticket that you can't have certain signs? (They usually say "No Laser Pens, Video Recorders, blah blah blah.") Fucking lame.
