I know, I know, it's only 3 days until is opens but I really can't wait any more. I need to spread the love. I simply cannot wait for this movie. I'm more hyped for The Matrix: Reloaded but at the same time there is an odd sense of need to see X2. I grew up reading comics and watching the show and to see it come to life so well in the first movie is something very cool to me.......

Come to this thread to post your thoughts on it, aspirations and plot ideas for X3.

How big of a role does Gambit have? Until recently I thought he wasn't in the movie at all....

I've seen the ad for the videogame Wolverine's Revenge and that seriously hyped me up for the game and the movie itself. The first one just fuckin' owned, so I'm hoping the second does too. *Hopefully* this won't get stuck with the Mummy 2 curse.... where they go too overboard with the CG stuff with little to no story to follow it. Although with all the mutants, I guess a lot of CG is to be expected. Hell, I just hope it's as entertaining, if not more so, than the first.

He's not in it. There was a very, very bit part of Gambit but according to the stuntman who played him, he has been cut out. Apparently the thought process is that Gambit might be a featured character in the next movie and since thie guy that played him in X2 was just a stuntman and not an actor, they would have to recast him in the next movie. So instead of having one person playing him in this one and then somebody else playing him in the next one, they just cut it out so he could just appear in the next one fresh.

Well if that's the logic they used that would be stupid since Halle Berry won't be in X-3 unless that changed...

I'm not too hyped for this, honestly. I'll still see it, just to have a reason to complain, though.

Seriously. They had all the comics in the world that I could never care less about to deform and turn into a crappy movie with plot holes and bad acting... but then they had to go and pick on my X-Men. I swear, some days it's just not worth getting out of bed. ;)

Why isn't Halle Berry in X-3? Contractual? Scheduling conflict? Is Storm getting killed off?

I gots ta know!!!

Last I heard she didn't like not being in the spotlight and wanted out of X-3, unless that changed...

I just saw a Hugh Jackman interview last night where he said that he's not signed for part 3 either. But if they make one he'll be in it without a doubt. So just because Halle isn't signed for X3 doesn't mean she won't be in it when the time comes.

Characters I NEED to see in X3

- Gambit

- Archangel

- Sabretooth returns for one final duel with Wolvie

- ~MUTHAFUCKIN APOYCALYPSE~!

- Juggernaut would be nice if they tied in the history w/ him and Prof. X

Plot Lines

- Nightcrawler and Rogue being brother and sister (if they don't tie it up in X2)

- Sytrker (Brian Cox's character) busting out the Sentinels. I've read reports that you can very very briefly glance at a computer in X2 and what is on the screen is a mechanical schematic for a Sentinel.

- Apolcalpyse and his 4 Horsemen (hint: turn Archangel face) vs X-Men + Magneto's crew.

Personally I'd be fucking ~STOKED!~ if X2 ends up with Apocalypse showing up. I'd be really pissed I don't get to see any more of him but it would own, regardless.

You're going to be very disappointed then, LotC.

Fuck Pocky. No one cares about the overrated 'first mutant ever'.

Apocalypse doesn't show up at the end.

I am more hyped on each passing day (and review I read). My main problem with it was that they had way too many characters to work with, but my worries have been put to rest as in each review I read there is a comment on how they use the time effectively.

I don't think they will do the Rogue/Mystique/Nightcrawler storyline, as Rogue didn't have the same history as she had in the cartoon. She went from being a teen to being an xmen - no miss marvel or mama in between.

Spoiler (Highlight to Read):

They look to be doing the Phoenix Saga next, as the last Image (I have heard) is the Firey Phoenix over the water (where Jean dies). It will be interesting if they make this a side-story or not in X-3. They could introduce the sentinels in X-3 and have the 'Jean Grey copes with the Phoenix' as a side-story which also focuses on her relationship with both Scott and Logan and Prof X. The Climax would be her finally fully utilizing her powers as the phoenix and destorying the sentinels with a hint of her darkside showing up too. X-4 would deal with Phoenix as the main villain and THEN lead in to Apocalypse (overhyped?!). Though I heard Singer say he would like to bring in Proteus :) so that would be a fine replacement.

Jesus H, how many fucking movies are they making? From what I can read of what Rudo put it looks like 5

That's just speculation, but there are so many storylines that they could dive into and as long as they keep up the quality the franchise shouldn't suffer. They probably shouldn't focus on the "number" of the series too much (maybe that's why they changed the name to "X-Men United" - so they could branch off easier in the future and not have "X-7") because if they go beyond the regular trilogy they sorta enter into Horror Territory and it sorta becomes goofy. The best approach would be the James Bond method.

But not be as repetitive and predictable as Bond.

Lots of Spoilers on different plot points:

Spoiler (Highlight to Read):

Stryker dies at the end of X-2 (actually dies). The end takes place in an underground base and the dam bursts, so Magneto ties him up to a pole with chains. So he meets his end. The Phoenix saga is hinted at all the way through the movie, at the start Jeans eyes glow red and her powers grow stronger through the movie til the end where she starts to burn up and then gets swallowed by the water coming out of the dam. So I personally think she's being reborn underwater where she 'died'.

One other thing, Logan does kiss Jean. But she tells him she loves Scott and no one else, and Wolverine says to Scott at the end 'she chose you'. When talkign about the choices she made.

All I know is I'm going to see the movie TONIGHT! And if all the reviews I've read so far are accurate, then this might just be the greatest comic book movie of them all. I'm pumped up and I'll let you guys know my opinion first thing tomorrow (if anybody cares.)

You know what's funny? After the first X-Men came out, I visited the Marvel bulliten board, and somebody had posted their own script for what X2 should be. and odly enough, with a few subtle differences, it's EXACTLY like the X2 that is being released! I'd post it, but the re-formatted the boards before I could coppy and paste the script to wrod, and hence I have lost it.

I'm hyped for this. I don't want to read the spoilers. I just hope to hell that it doesn't have the things that ruined the comics (Apocalypse, Onslaught, Gambit, Comics-Rogue, etc.).

Keep the focus where it should be. Those things would be as bad as Venom & Carnage in a Spider-Man film.

Bring in Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch.

Not a comics fan, but I loved the 'Toon..

Why the Apocalypse hate?

I'd love to read any and all reviews from the forum users, so long as it doesn't spoil anything ^_^

Apoc was the shit. He had some kickass lines in the 'toon, though!

"I am the shores of eternity! Crash against me and be broken!!" ;p

Why the Apocalypse hate?

Because he's a dumb, boring take over the world-style villain in the mold of Sauron from LOTR. He has no depth at all, and doesn't fit Singer's vision at all. Sentinels fit plotwise, but look just as stupid as Apoc and would need to be totally revamped to fit in.

If you start putting in characters that are 'cool' instead of well-written characters with lots of depth you end up with the Batman film series. I don't think anyone wants to suffer through that again. Gambit can be improved (as Rogue was), but someone like Apoc (or Venom/Carnage) is simply unworkable on film. A cartoon is a different medium. I wouldn't want to see these guys in a live-action series either.

I had a party for the original. I'm having a (sort of) party for this one. If the next movie goes where I'm thinking it's going, I'm having a kegger to celebrate.

And I don't drink.

I should add that most people (comic and non-comic book fans alike) considered the best part of X-Men to be the Rogue/Wolverine relationship and the parallels to the Civil Rights movements of the 60s (as well as McCarthyism & the Holocaust). Apocalypse is a complete 180 from that. People hated Magento's machine, so chances are they won't like something like Apoc too much either.

He would be there simply to appease fans, who would see the movies anyways. I doubt very many people refused to see X-Men 1 or 2 because Apoc wasn't in it. Those that didn't watch those films probably have no idea who Apoc even is.
