DVD Box Sets That You Want Released

Recommended Posts

Guest Flyboy

What are some DVD box sets that haven't been released yet, but would like to be released?

The only thing that pops to mind is the animated X-Men (Fox- all five seasons, damnit) and possibly Batman: TAS.

Weird Science, the entire run of the TV show.

Boxset:

-Night of the Living Dead

-Dawn of the Dead

-Day of the Dead

Smallville, but that'll happen sooner or later.

And to a lesser extent Parker Lewis Can't Lose

Oh yeah I forgot about Parker Lewis.  Was that the show based off Ferris Bueller?

Don't know for sure, it was just about a popular kid in highschool and his friends Jerry (the nerd) and Mike (the rocker)...it's not like the show was based on him skipping school.

I loved that show.

And the guy who played the troll in Buffy played Larry Cubiack (sp) on the show.

I'm pretty sure one is coming this year along with the release of a new Day of the Dead disc.

Oh. I might be thinking of a different show. There was this show that I always got the Ferris Bueller vibe from.

There was a Ferris Bueller show on NBC but it did not survive one season. Parker Lewis Can't Lose was similiar but far superior in its writing and style.

I'd like to see the Denis Leary show "The Job" released. Don't know if it's enough episodes to warranta "boxed set" but maybe a 2-3 disc collection at most. Unless they added in tons of commentaries and stuff... which would truly be awesome. A transfer of the Job could look great, because I think that ABC may have shown it in HDTV.

I'd also love to see a complete set of Rocky & Bullwinkle cartoons... and maybe a boxed set of DuckTales :-)

I'd buy the 1980s G.I. Joe cartoons if they'd put a bunch on a few DVDs

Saved by the Bell (Sept!)

It can't come soon enough :).

Anyhow, non-obvious choices for me would be Clone High (only like 13 eps, they can easily do this on one/two discs), 90210 season by season, and The Incredible Hulk live action show(season sets, though the pilot and the TV movies are coming in June).

I love Roseanne but find it hard to imagine needing this on DVD. They show episodes 5 times a day in my area!

MST3K, Season-by-Season

Never gonna happen, too many people to get clerance rights from. It's one thing to get rights to broadcast the film on the show, another set a rights to allow selling show episodes with the film.

Add Seinfeld to my list.

Maybe also a "Best of MTV Animation" box set, w/ stuff like Downtown, Sifl & Olly (not really animation, I know), Clone High, Liquid TV (or just Aeon Flux), etc. I wouldn't put Daria and B&B in there because they could have their own sets.

And if they ever released a "Remote Control" box set, I'd mark out big-time. I doubt it will ever happen, based solely on paying for the videos and/or to Sandler & Colin Quin & Dennis Leary, etc.

HMV has something like that. It has an "Import" sticker on it, so I have no idea where it originates from, but it has quite a few episodes on it.

Personally, I want Batman: The Animated Series in a boxed set. At least by season, instead of these fucking lame "volumes"... UGH!
