Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted May 1, 2003 MARIETTA -- Cobb County police on Thursday arrested the former professional wrestler known as Lex Lugar after authorities found a controlled substance in his home while investigating the death of a woman who died after she was rushed early Thursday from his residence to the hospital. Elizabeth Hulette, 42, who was known in the wrestling world as Miss Elizabeth, was taken from the Cobb town home owned by Lawrence Pfohl, the athlete who wrestled professionally as Lex Lugar. Rescue workers were summoned around 5:30 a.m. to the home, which is located off of Powers Ferry Road, Cobb police spokesman Cpl. Brody Staud said. He said the woman died at Kennestone Hospital shortly after she arrived, but authorities have not yet determined her cause of death. "At this point, we don't know if it's a suicide, we don't know if it's a natural death (and) we don't know if it's a homicide," said Staud, who added later that there was no indication of said. The woman was transported to Kennestone by ambulance. Authorities said Pfohl rode with her to the facility. Police declined to identify the woman who lived at the home or say if it was the same woman who was transported to the hospital. Neighbors said the woman was Pfohl's girlfriend. Several hours after Hulette was pronounced dead, Pfohl was taken into custody after investigators found the illegal substance in his home. Authorities said the recently responded to a domestic disturbance call at the home, during which Pfohl was arrested for allegedly beating Hulette, according to a copy of the police report. Like I said, sometimes people are let go even while are the prime suspect while the detectives gathered evidence.and now they got him for drug charges. Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted May 1, 2003 I was coming home from school and heard this on the local sports station. I am pretty shocked, like I am every time someone under 50 in wrestling dies. I still can't really beleive it. RIP Liz, the classiest dame in wrestling. Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted May 1, 2003 Uh oh, maybe he used the steel arm for EEEEEEVILLLL. No true American Hero would have one. I was not fooled by the Lex Express propaganda. Seriously, though. This is some sad shit. Liz was like THE character that always popped in my head when I thought of women in wrestling.

Guest BifEverchad Report post Posted May 2, 2003 Its always a shock when a wrestler or someone involved with wrestling dies. Especially those who where around when I started watching wrestling and as I grew up. as everyone has and will say....... R.I.P Elizabeth
Guest JDMattitudeV1 Report post Posted May 2, 2003 Fuck. This is just so sad. Bulldog, Hennig and now Liz. RIP Liz, thanks for the memories.
Guest The Czech Republic Report post Posted May 2, 2003 On a lighter note, it looks like the chances of a Lex Luger return to WWE have been greatly diminished...then again they brought back Jimmy Snuka, so who knows... Seriously, this is all just so unreal to be losing everyone I grew up watching. I mean it seems like at least half of the star from the early 90s when I started watching are now dead. What a sick business. I can only hope that the modern wrestlers have truly cleaned up and aren't using drugs and steroids so we don't have to read all about their deaths 10 years from now. And as mentioned, ironically, Jake the Snake and Scott Hall are still around... I hope Luger gets sodomized in a venue other than the WWE locker room. Guest Downhome Report post Posted May 2, 2003 My God, this is the last thing I ever wanted to hear when I got online. The queen, the beauty, the first lady of Pro. Wrestling is gone, I can't believe this. Overall, throughout the years, Miss Elizabeth is my favorite woman in this sport. She did not, nor did she have to, resort to cheap pops from the crowd. She was pure beauty, a great character, and was part of many great feuds and angles over the year. I will miss her, just as I miss all members of "the family" who have passed on over the years. It never gets any easier to accept. I had no idea she was so young, no idea at all. Rest in Peace Elizabeth Hulette, God bless, and thanks for the memories which will remain with me forever. LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2003 Terrible news....I just saw the peice on it on UPN 9 news, and apparently Luger is in custody now and under arrest even though the sheriff said he doesn't suspect homicide right now. When I think of Liz i think of a woman who was class act, didn't have to resort to looking like a slut on TV or cheap pops, and was the first lady of wrestling and the best ever. Thanks for the memories liz. RIP

Guest Dmann2000 Report post Posted May 2, 2003 Scary thing is, at work tonight I was afraid I'd come online tonight to read Macho Man had died for some reason. This is so sad for me. She was 1/3 of the reason I watch wrestling today. My heart goes out to her family, and Randy.
Guest Dmann2000 Report post Posted May 2, 2003 I used to have a huge crush on Liz in my younger days. As useless as some of you think she was, she was the centerpiece to some of the best angles in WWE history: Flair/Savage ("She was mine before she was yours Savage...Wooooooooooo!" ) Savage/Warrior and most important of all... THE MEGAPOWERS EXPLODE! RIP Liz You're forgetting the best of them all Savage/Roberts

Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted May 2, 2003 Hate to sound like an ass...but do you think they'll try and pin this one on Kane too? Seriously, I was a little disapointed they didn't even do a quick pic shot to open the show. I know it's taped and they couldn't have Cole or Tazz say anything about it. But a little pic with year or birth and death would have been nice.
Guest CED Ordonez Report post Posted May 2, 2003 No mention of Elizabeth's death yet on WWE's site.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted May 2, 2003 No mention of Elizabeth's death yet on WWE's site. Yeah, I just checked myself. You'd think they could throw a sentence or two on the headlines section.
Guest creativename Report post Posted May 2, 2003 This is so shocking. I was in another thread when I saw EternallyLazy's sig. I saw the picture and I was like "Hey, that's a real nice picture of Savage and Liz." Then I saw the "RIP Liz" and I was like WHAT? This has been the most unbelievable year for wrestling deaths in memory. People say that every time we get another death, and it just keeps getting more surreal. Who could've expected Miss Elizabeth, of all people? I feel real bad for Randy Savage. Yeah, he was apparently kinda psycho with her, but he was also madly in love with her back in the day from all reports. He must be stunned right now. This whole thing is just weird. Guest Memphis Report post Posted May 2, 2003 These drug-related deaths are becoming ridiculous, I'm sad to see her go but damn i find it hard to respect a person who purposely kills themselves with fucking drugs. In terms of her death, I'm totally shocked... M
Guest Sakura Report post Posted May 2, 2003 I don't really see what's so shocking about it. I mean it's not like I predicted it or anything, but the idea of Liz, Luger or any other old school wrestler abusing drugs isn't that much of a surprise.

THE MEGAPOWERS EXPLODE! RIP Liz I was about to post something like this. Elizabeth didn't really do much for me (except for the time she ripped off the skirt at SummerSlam '88), but some of the all-time great WWF angles & moments revolved around her, back when they actually knew how to use valets the proper way. She was a big part of my early days of watching wrestling. R.I.P. Liz

Guest oldschoolwrestling Report post Posted May 2, 2003 Lex Luger (real name Larry Pfohl) was released on bond this morning after appearing before the Cobb County Magistrate court, according to the Associated Press. Luger was taken into custody yesterday when police, while investigating the death of Elizabeth Hulette, found "illegal body-enhancing drugs" in his home. This violated the Georgia Control Substance Act, and Luger was arrested and spent last night in jail for possessing the drugs. As for the cause of death in the case of Elizabeth, Cobb County authorities have announced that they plan an autopsy to determine the cause of death, so it will be some time before toxicology reports are completed. 1wrestling.com
Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2003 Well, she WAS before my time, but I'm quite aware of her significance in wresling history and the great angles/feuds she was involved in, so this is a bummer. Not a Curt Hennig-level bummer for me, but it's still sad. RIP Liz, and thanks.
