Just got back from a Raw house show in Ottawa

Recommended Posts

Yup just got back and it was a very average experience. The crowd was pretty loud, nothing exciting, and the arena was moderately full.

Fuck play by play as most of the macthes have been done at every show for the last few months. Only new one was Nash/HHH. How bad was it? Pretty fucking bad. Sadly not Steiner/HHHl levels of bad so not bad enough to make fun of, but too bad to actually watch. It was worse than anything else: boring as hell. Nash scuked a donkey dick and nearly killed HHH by botching a powerbomb. When the referee(Lil' Naitch) gets the loudest reaction of the match you got a problem. And the end blew as Nash lost to a dinky roll-up, ie. he's winning at JD. No Ric Flair which pissed me off.

Funny thing is I started doing their survey but whne I got to page 3(out of like 6 or 7) I said 'fuck it' and threw it out. Not really worth my 50 bucks and I only even moderately enjoyed cause we get wrestling so rarely.

BTW Le Resistanse stole the Quebecers pants!

Well, that sucks...for the $1000 I gave him this morning, he said he was going to kill him dead. Some people just can't do anything right.

Just so you know, THAT IS Nash's powerbomb.

It's a freakin' botched powerbomb. Otherwise known as the Lazybomb.

I'd Love it if Nash Lazybombed HHH on PPV live and then they rush and tear down the ring like it was a HUGE impact...

The crowd was SO dead during that match. I wonder if either of them heard me yell, 'NEITHER OF YOU CAN WRESTLE' at them. Oh well, I got a few cool pictures (I hope) of HHH with the belt.

No this was worse. He barely lifted him off the ground and was so winded he dropped him right back on his head.

That reminds me of the incident where he tried to powerbomb The Giant in WCW.

I was yelling at him to try and get him to strut, but he wouldn't.

What happened there????

And how would they explain HHH truly becoming Cripple H??? And how long would Nash last? I mean RVD seems to have been buried after the Elimantion Chamber 5 Star of Doom...

As some of you know, after spending $50+ for 2nd row seats to a Raw house show at the Corel Centre in Ottawa, I shortly after found out the card. While most of the show seemed to be nothing special (and probably not worth the $50 I spent [although it was in Canadian funds, so it was probably closer to 25 cents for you Americans, or maybe 30 cents now with the recent rise in value of the Loonie]). However, one match did stick out to me. One match that I was sure would live up to it's potential and then some. That match, was, of course Kevin Nash vs. Triple H for the World Heavyweight Title. Now, having seen Nash wrestle the Rock last year and putting on ****+ classic, he was sure to have an even better match versus an even better worker in the Raw champion HHH. So, I arrived at the arena, bought myself a Chris Jericho shirt, and sat on my hands for nearly 2 hours (I mean, why would I want to cheer for wrestlers such as the Hurricane, Rob Van Dam or Chris Jericho when I have a sure-fire classic coming up to end the show? I sure didn't want to tire myself out) waiting impatiently for my main event to start. Finally, after what seemed like a lifetime of waiting and watching crappy, boring wrestling, the Fink announced that it was time for the World Heavyweight Championship match (which was sadly only scheduled for one fall). Tradition was broken to start off, as the champ came out first and, thank God, he didn't have to bring that un-entertaining Ric Flair to the ring with him, because that guy's just dragging him down. Then, Big Sexy's music hit and, thanks to what has to be a stroke of luck from the Heavens, since I was sitting on the aisle, I got to see this physical specimen walk slowly to the ring (a man like that shouldn't have to waste precious energy running) and after he did his oh-so-impressive step over the top, the match was on. Well, let me tell you, Angle/Benoit has a rival for match of the year. The fans in Ottawa obviously recognize greatness, as the champ was one of the most over people on the card. The fans weren't all smart, though, as for some strange reason, the crowd was dead silent for most of the match (perhaps they were in awe of what was happening in the ring) and someone (surely not your's truly) yelled 'NEITHER OF YOU CAN WRESTLE' at the two gladiators in the ring. What a buffoon. Anyway, the match continued for probably 6 or 7 minutes, although the time just flew by with these 2 ring generals duking it out. Triple H retained his highly valued title, although he couldn't beat Big Daddy Cool without ramming his head into an exposed turnbuckle and holding the tights. The champ is so good he didn't even need to bust out a Pedigree to beat his competition, although Mr. Nash did get some measure of revenge in returning the favour of ramming Trips' face into the exposed turnbuckle and hitting him with a scintillating powerbomb. I mean, my God, it's a thing of beauty. All I can say is, if this is headlining a pay-per-view, the rest of the card may not be worth my $35, but dammit, if Nash and HHH can put on half as good a match that they did for me and the other countless thousands of fans that were lucky enough to be on hand for this magical night in the Corel Centre (home of some crappy hockey team with fickle fans), then I may have to take an extended bathroom break until the opening chords of 'The Game' hit. Then, and only then, will I know that a match worthy of my time and hard earned money will be taking place.

You do realize that Vince is reading that and not getting the sarcasm.

Had I not left Ottawa for summer vacation last week, I would have been at this show. I'm glad I missed it. As much as I don't like Steiner or Test, Nash is my least favourite wrestler of all time. Nobody is more of a symbol of what is wrong with this business than Nash is.

Fuckin' Australians have all the luck in the world... :(

Nice match report, Tim, since I wasn't at the show (unlike the last 20 or so Ottawa shows). I kinda wish Dames would've been here in Ottawa, just to get a Diatribe on the last match. :D
