Guest BobBacklundRules Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 One rumor in the WWE lockerroom is that management gave Jeff Hardy the choice of checking into rehab or be released. There are also reports that Jeff did not save money well and cannot afford to sit at home and not work at all. Jeff has recently been heard telling friends that he is not interested in flying around the country as an independent wrestler, and will instead stay around his home working on music. credit: Pro Wrestling Torch Newsletter
Guest ViciousFish Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 You'd asume that was an easy choice but I guess not
Yuna_Firerose Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 *yawn* Just because it's a "report", doesn't mean it's true. Jeff Hardy is GONE from WWE...can't all the lame-as-hell jokes just stop?
Guest Slapnuts00 Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 I just read in this week's Wrestling Observer that the real reason that Jeff was pulled from house shows a few weeks ago is that he had failed a drug test. They gave him some time off, and he again failed a second drug test. The mandatory policy is rehab, and Jeff outright refused to go so they released him. It was made clear if he cleaned up he would be welcomed back. Jeff better get his act together unless he wants to be the next in the list of wrestling drug deaths...
Zetterberg is God Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 Let's see: make 5 figures easy or sit at home and watch his shitty band (I'm assuming) fail. Good choice, Jeff. Indy talent kill themselves every night for a shot in WWE and meanwhile Jeff gives it all up just because he doesn't want to help himself.

We're not joking, Yuna. Pro Wrestling Torch and Wrestling Observer are the 2 most respected inside sources for wrestling news and are usually correct in what they report. Both of them this week report that the real reason Jeff was let go was he failed a drug test twice and refused rehab.
Guest El Satanico Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 Well it was well known that he wasn't interested in wrestling anymore, so he probably just took that as his opening to get out of the business.
Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 I've read in several reports (I I even think Edge mentioned it) that Jeff Hardy has saved his money well. If the fact he was wrestling caused him to need drugs (painkillers etc.), then perhaps it is not the dumbest decision ever. No wrestling = no drugs?
Guest NoSelfWorth Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 No wrestling = no drugs? Not always. If someone is so far into drugs, then they will stay hooked on them, whether they stay in wrestling or not.
Paul Stanley Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 *yawn* Just because it's a "report", doesn't mean it's true. Jeff Hardy is GONE from WWE...can't all the lame-as-hell jokes just stop? Go Ta' Hell.
Guest Nevermortal Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 Jeff Hardy is a worthless human being. BURN~!

Guest buffybeast Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 Let's see: make 5 figures easy or sit at home and watch his shitty band (I'm assuming) fail. Good choice, Jeff. More like six figures, but true nonetheless.
Guest papacita Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 I find this news funny as hell for some reason. Maybe it's cuz I'm high. I dunno.

Ultimo Dugas Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 With all the merchandise he pushed it had better be true.

More like six figures, but true nonetheless. That better not be true. Don't all WWE wrestlers, even the most bottom-feeding of them, make AT LEAST six figures? I thought six figures was like the minimum salary to be a TV regular.

Still that make me even if it makes sense.
