Lowlight of the night was EVER TIME LARS SPOKE. He and Durst should never be allowed to speak. EVER.

Unless Jim Bruer is doing the speaking for him

"Okay dude, so this song man, it's gonna rip your balls out okay dudes"

And I may get hate for this but I always loved the 1-2 punch on Reload of "Fuel" and "The Memory Remains"

And "Low Man's Lyric" rules...

Damn lack of shit like this in Australia. I'd like to see some of this. Not so much Snoop or limpbizkit, but I'm a Staind fan, just got Sum 41's CD and I'm liking it, Korn shouldn't do too much damage and I'd just be curious to see Avril do Fuel. Someone said she didn't seem into it, so that'd suck, you've gotta get pumped up for Fuel. I never really liked her much, but for some reason I REALLY like Losing Grip, so I'm more interested than I otherwise would be. I'd love to hear it if anyone knows where I could get it

Sum 41 did a damn fine job with there Bellz/Sandman/Master medly.

Avril's band had Fuel down though I agree she was static, get some more passion in ya girl.

Just downloaded Avril doing Fuel. Her band nailed it but she doesn't go hard enough with it. She sounds like she's just standing up to the mic, you've gotta fuckin' go nuts with that song, just a little bit of emotion and she could've nailed it, disappointing

Wow that show made me ill, but I too enjoyed Kirk looking up at Bizkit with a look on his face like someone just ripped a fart during an audience with the Pope. On the bright side, it could have been worse, although the hate that swells through my veins every time I see Fred Durst can't be healthy for me. I could say the same about Avril, but she's a passing thing, and her performance wasn't nearly as painful as I thought it would be. I just found it offensive having people like Snoop performing and vacuous, empty-headed cunts like Jolene Blaylock and Shannon Elizabeth, who I can guaranteee you know absolutely DICK about Metallica presenting, but that's MTV for yas.

MTV has helped turn metallica into a "cool to like" band. Just about everyone I know, seems to know SOME of their songs, and I don't know many people in my age group that flat out hate metallica. It is like MTV has taught them that all they have to do is like Metallica and then they are "down" with Metal and know all about it. What a joke. Whenever a new aquaintence asks what kind of music i like, the IMMEDIATE next question is ALWAYS, "oh, do you like Metallica?" hahahaha

Heh, the medley started out good, I marked out when they did Hit the Lights.... is it me or were they trying to prove something by playing a good number of their faster tunes? They ain't 18 no more, playing that fast at 40 is HARD.

actually, most bands get better as musicians as time goes by (well, good musicians, anyways) so they shouldn't have a problem playing these songs they've played for 20 years now. I think a fact everyone is looking over is that although the covers were shit, Metallica themselves had to restart both times they performed... thats not a good sign.

DEFINITELY not a good sign....

Also another point... Metallica also crapped the bed over the entire Napster thing, and while I thought S&M was a decent effort, it was going to take more than that to erase the resentment of Load and ReLoad.

They have been suffering a lot of negative things, backlash over two really subpar albums, contract disputes with Elektra, conflict with their bass player of 10 years and his subsequent firing, the Napster debacle, James going into rehab and pushing back a desperately needed album release... when you look at all of these things, can you honestly wonder *why* they need such a huge ass push from MTV?

I have all the respect in the world for Robert Trujillo, it just surprised me that they would take someone that accomplished. I would have thought that they would take a decently talented, no-name bassist and tell him what to play and how to play it.

It was pretty good to me. But hell, it's close enough to thumbs up to me when the crowd chant "DIE" during Creeping Death.

What's the odds that James 'broke Avril in' after the show...

On any given day in my high school, NoCal, you can spot at least three kids with a Metallica shirt on.

...and two kids have Maiden shirts...but I'm the only BLS supporter...fuckers...

And in a very, VERY OT memo: My buddy Steve-O dressed like a member of In Flames today. White button-up short-sleeve shirt, white shorts, white sneakers...
