Big beats little-realism?

Recommended Posts

Guest ShooterJay

Okay, we all know Vince feels that big men beat little men because it's more "realistic" (well, that's part of the reason.)

So by that logic, Nash will beat Jericho on Raw. But if you stack up the actual fact, if based in "reality," Jericho would destroy Nash.

Tale of the tape:

-Jericho is 33, very built for a guy his size, is a tremendous all-around athlete and wrestler, and has shoot training via the Dungeon.

-Nash is in his mid/late 40's, has no legit fight training, is incredibly slow because both of his legs are shot beyond repair, and doesn't have nearly the build he did in his prime because he is in fact, Big Lazy.

So Vince's whole argument collapses in on itself right there.

Vince thinks a lot of things.

Let's ignore the fact that his biggest money maker was a 6'2'' guy...and deal with the reality that he still thinks Big Show is going to make him a dime because he's tall.

But you see....he is tall. If Shawn Bradley was in the WWE he'd be champion. This is realism. Tall = tough. Deal with it.

Oh hell, even I don't buy that shit.

smaller = lesser

AND

talented = threat to steal show.

I maintain that the worst thing you can be in the WWE is Jamie Noble.

But you're foregtting-

Jericho- 5'11"

Nash- 7"

Let me repeat-

Jericho- 5'11"

Nash- 7'

I mean, how can puny little Chris Jericho be expected to defeat Giant Nash. Forget about athleticism, age, training and conditioning...

NASH IS A FULL FOOT TALLER

I mean, that obviously defeats whatever "avantages" Jericho might have (which he doesn't because he's short and vanilla, not big and sexy)

For those of you not in tune to the writings of sarcasm, the preceeding post was indeed, sarcasm

I'm sure Mr. Kevin Nash will tell everyone the same thing and use that as a reason not to job. Of course Nash will forget he did clean jobs to his little buddy Shawn Michaels.

Jericho is 32 and Nash is 43 not in his "mid/late 40s". Get the numbers right before you post them.

Um, i'm not sold on Jericho beating Nash in a real fight, sorry. Nash is freaking enormous. You have to have a big skill advantage to beat someone with that much of a size advantage in a real fight.

I just think Jericho should win cause Nash sucks and draws less money.

The WWE is not real! Why do they insist on Realism when it comes to who wins and who loses?

All Jericho would have to do in a real fight situation with Nash is go for his knees. His knees are so shot that the fight wouldn't even last very long.

Beating Nash would be easy. Here's how:

1. Taunt Nash.

2. I run away.

3. Nash fall down. Nash go boom. Nash scream like little bitch.

DONE!

Because the hosses are running/ruining the company right now.

Stephanie and the Hungry Hungry Hippo are hosses?!

This topic solves the Goldberg/Steiner/Hunter problem, all Vince has to do is job them to the Big Show or the Undertaker, and none of them can bitch about it later.

Triple H wrestles like one and Steph is starting to look like one.

Hogan is at least late 40's and he's had many knee surgeries as well--he STILL moves better than Nash.

Nash had fucked up knees before he even started wrestling for christs sake. He had to give up basketball for that reason, and to his credit he does look like he did some good weight training in his off time as he looks more defined in his arms and shoulders.

With that being said, Jericho would have to watch out for the long reach but could just execute low kicks to the legs and Nash would TIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIMBEEEEEEEEEEER.

The highlight of the boring brawl on Monday (besides Jericho) was watching Nash have to pull himself up by the ropes just to stand up.

Lessee, Big Lazy has NO skill...how much more skill than none does Jericho need?

Shoot the leg, go for a legbar, and wait until you hear the quad pop. That's all it'd take.

Here's what I'd do:

-Push him down

-Hit Earthquake splash on knees

-Repeat step 2

-Repeat step 2

-Repeat step 2

-Repeat step 2

-Repeat step 2

-Repeat step 2

-Beat up Shawn Michaels when he runs in to save Nash (I was kicked out of the Marines before going to Boot Camp after I hurt my leg, so that still makes me able to beat Shawn Michaels' ass)

Much like Nash.

Why, no, I don't have anything to add. Why do you ask?

Go pick a fight with a person a foot and a half taller with you and see how it goes. You'd better have a really big skill advantage. I'm still not sold on Jericho taking him out.

Niko watch UFC/Vale Tudo/Pride or whatever, specifically a Royce Gracie match. He's taken out people who have a large size difference on him.

Jericho kicks the kneecap legit, Nash goes down, fight over.

God, who freaking cares about who can take who in a shoot fight. Dan Severn could probably tie 75% of the roster into a knot, but i never want to see him wrestle again. The good big man being better than a good small guy thing comes from it looking more realistic, not actually being more realistic anyway.

See, the problem I have is when one facet of this alleged realism overcomes everything else. Sure, a bigger guy who's put over as tough as nails is going to beat the piss out of a whiney egotist nine times out of ten... but if you book it that way TEN out of ten, you lose the surprise and the excitement of the match.

Remember Brian Pillman's giant-killer run in the old NWA? Man, that was classic.

It wouldn't take much for Vince to make the fans believe a smaller guy could 100% dismantle a bigger guy. Proof? ECW. Taz. The Path of Rage. Taz is shorter than Jericho, and took out people, believably, about the size of Bam Bam Bigelow constantly.

Realism? Sorry, but in reality, people don't wear spandex and leather masks and magically forget that they were burned as a child, and turn into a "fun-loving guy."
