Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted May 14, 2003 is Kendrick in the 6man? Gee Captain Obvious your question was answered dooyyyyy Well EXCUSE me for being Captain Obvious. I mean, does it REALLY stand out so much? You know, I was kinda hoping they'd get the title OFF of Team Angle, as I think they shouldn't be retaining them in their first Ladder match. Edit: Then again, I'm also voicing everyone's sentiments. ...fuck, I really am Captain Obvious.
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted May 14, 2003 Rey will probably take his spot. This is going to be good for Eddy since Chavo is holding him down.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2003 You know, since he's almost back to tip-top shape...I almost see Kurt Angle somehow costing whoever Team Angle's fighting the match... I could be wrong though.
Guest Banky Report post Posted May 14, 2003 I am glad. Now Eddie can go back as a singles. And I'll love him again. Remember when I used to love Eddie? I do. It was obsessive.
Guest Slapnuts00 Report post Posted May 14, 2003 Benoit moving into the ladder match would be good, and Undertaker is supposed to be ready to return and would make sense to be a "mystery" partner for the 6 man tag (at least add some intrigue to this pathetic show). Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted May 14, 2003 Aww, this sucks. I love Chavo, essa. Damn, what's up with Smackdown wrestlers(especially the good ones) and injuries?
Guest bravesfan Report post Posted May 14, 2003 Spoiler (Highlight to Read): If Benoit's match was announced in a backstage segment, they can certainly take him out of the six-man match, replace him with 'Taker and insert him into the ladder match, pretending the segment never happened. Guest Olympic Slam Report post Posted May 15, 2003 Ideally, Benoit will be Eddie's partner in the match. They'll lose to Team Angle where-upon Eddie turns on Benoit at Smackdown, thus turning heel. We'll get yet another Eddie v Benoit program and hopefully, a push for Eddie to the top. A feud with Brock would be sure be swell.

I'd say, if Eddie really NEEDS a partner, and they have no plan to turn him, stick him out there with Rey Rey or Kidman (both are floundering in their roles right now). You can venture deep into the summer with Team Angle, Eddie/Rey, FBI, Crash/Moore, Kidman/Tajiri and Albert/DeMott. Insert Morley into that picture with Cena, and you're looking at a GREAT tag scene. Leave the tag division for the jobbers. I'm sure the FBI, Team Angle and Tajiri/Rey can carry the thing for a good four months. Job #1 should be building up viable opponents for Brock Lesnar. Guest JDMattitudeV1 Report post Posted May 15, 2003 Shit, this is just rotten luck for Chavo, lets hope he is back again soon. I hope WWE don't cancel the match though cause if they do I think KOTR 95 may finaly loose it's thrown as the worst WWE PPV of all time.

Guest Galactic Gigolo Report post Posted May 15, 2003 Does anyone know what happened? Did JR Ryder fuck something up, or was it just a bad movement on Chavo's part?
Guest KingOfOldSchool Report post Posted May 15, 2003 From what I understand, it was a freak happening just after a minute into the match. I don't think anyone fucked up a move. Due to the nature of the injury, I assume Chavo was lifting Ryder up for something, and his arm just gave way. We'll just have to wait and see though. Sucks though. I like Chavo, and he was just beginning to get over.

Gert T 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2003 Does anybody else think that health-wise it would be bad to have Benoit in the ladder match? I know he's been back for about a year, but is it worth taking that risk?
Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted May 15, 2003 Does anybody else think that health-wise it would be bad to have Benoit in the ladder match? I know he's been back for about a year, but is it worth taking that risk? Since the WWE wants to have a ladder match with Team Angle in it, I was thinking it'd be more of an actual match that just had a ladder in it to finish off the match. I was highly doubting its usage in the match.
Guest Memphis Report post Posted May 15, 2003 That sucks...I see Ultimo being the replacement. But you see, that would make PERFECT sense, wouldn't it? Therefore, because I'm aware of McMahon's mentality and realise this *IS* WWE, I predict Eddie's partner to be the Ultimate Warrior. It'll happen, bitches. King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2003 That sucks. Los Guerreros had gotten hell'a over in the past month. For those who actually saw Backlash, their match with Team Angle took both up another step. Chavo was over, Eddie was over, they face cheated perfectly, they advanced their gimmick...this sucks for Chavo. Hopefully if it's an arm injury, he might be able to walk around with a cast or sling on towards the end of the 6 months, as Eddie's manager or something. Oh, and no-one has come up with the possibility of Smackdown's hottest tag team replacing Eddie and Chavo...RIKISHI AND TAJIRI! Can you wait? I know I can. Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted May 15, 2003 Heres what I know based on watching Smackdown: A: Chavo got hurt overseas (obviously not true) and the segment was obviously filmed afterwards. B: The Tag Team Ladder Match is "STILL ON!" according to Cole. C: The 6 Man tag match was never mentioned in the PPV lineup with the other matches. take this for what you will, but its what will air on Smackdown... Guest Lord of The Curry Report post Posted May 15, 2003 Benoit could also pull double-duty and be Eddy's partner. It wouldn't be the first time he's pulled a double on PPV. At least it gives the both of them something to do.
Guest bravesfan Report post Posted May 15, 2003 C: The 6 Man tag match was never mentioned in the PPV lineup with the other matches. HA! I was right. They're inserting either Spanky or Benoit into Chavo's role.

At least it gives the both of them something to do. Im pretty sure that with the 6 man not happening, Benoit will probably get thrown in there. Or they could swerve everyone and make it a four way with the FBI, Benoit/Rhyno, Rikishi?/Eddy and Team Angle. The only ones left out are Kendrick and Cena..and you might complain about Eddy getting Rikishi as a partner, but Benoit as his partner doesn't make sense in the context that Benoit and Rhyno have been tagging for a while now. And between Kendrick and Rikishi (remembers its a ladder match)..give him Kendrick then..
Guest Mole Report post Posted May 15, 2003 Benoit should replace Chavo because Team Angle is going to retain anyway. Team Angle should hold on to the title till atleast SummerSlam, to establish how good they are. And even though this is sad that Chavo is hurt, maybe Eddie will get a single push now. It would make sense, but this is WWE we are talking about. Turn him heel, which he is beat at, and have him challenge Brock for the title, if he wins. If Big Show wins, then have Eddie challange Show for the title as a face. That would make sense, but this is WWE we are talking about.
Guest creativename Report post Posted May 15, 2003 I wonder if roids had anything to do with this. A few months back, I looked at Chavo's biceps and thought to myself that they looked very suspicious. He has that whole vein-thing going on that Unca Eddie has too. Eddie almost certainly did roids in the past, and perhaps Chavo was taking after his uncle in this way as well. This would also explain Chavo's sudden push to the mid-card, where he was just a jobber before. This news just blows totally, because Chavo is one of the most talented wrestlers out there. I haven't watched either SmackDown! or Raw for weeks, because both have completely and utterly lost my interest (though Raw is supposedly improving somewhat); and this is just yet another blow to SD!'s already suffering quality. Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted May 15, 2003 I have a feeling that Chavo's replacement could be Mattitude. The PPV will be in NC, so Hardy will definitely get a positive reaction.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 15, 2003 I wouldn't Sacrifice Benoit here, I'd much rather they Have Spanky or Mysterio here... I wasn't expecting a TLC type match here and something more along the lines of Benoit/Jericho. So If you take someone like Spanky, Yer in good shape... I STRONGLY AM AGAINST USING DRAGON for this. Bored 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2003 Here's a small update on Chavo and how they'll explain the injury courtesy Da Meltz: In the commentary done live on Tuesday night in Baltimore, the injury to Chavo Guerrero was acknowledged, but they didn't announce a partner for Eddy Guerrero for Sunday. On the show, instead of saying he had been injured that night, they claimed the injury took place on the U.K. tour. Safe to say now they won't be airing his match on Velocity this week.
