Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted May 15, 2003 Most viewers know by now that Steve Austin’s probation period is up regarding domestic abuse charges and he is now allowed to drink on camera. Despite the drinking on RAW becoming somewhat of a ratings booster, many say that Austin’s drinking in real life is getting to be out of control. The buzz going around the RAW locker room is a certain amount of concern for Austin, as many feel that the reason that his alcohol consumption is so out of control due to his sudden in ring retirement. It is a secret to no one that Austin is having a hard time dealing with the fact that he may never wrestle again. Many feel that the non wrestling role would have been much easier for Austin if he would not have got his hopes up a few months ago that he could return as a full-time player. Not only is Austin dealing with his retirement, but also the embarrassing high-profile divorce from his previous ex-wife, Jeanie Williams who lives in England with Austin’s children. While all this is going on, Jim Ross and Dennis Brent continue to work with Austin on his autobiography. Colleagues of Austin hope that he will be able to get it together to be able to last in the business, it is a secret to no one that WWE is becoming less tolerant with what they let go backstage. Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted May 15, 2003 I hope Austin realizes that there's still a money match left with Hogan at Mania 20 that he can do...he needs to realize he hasn't wrestled his last match (even if he says he has...this is Steve Austin, people.) Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted May 15, 2003 its new in terms of his probationary period is up and instead of conciously lessen his drinking or doing something proactive he is going back to usual habits.... Plus he is definately getting depressed over his career and becoming just an gate attraction and not a wrestler.
Guest ViciousFish Report post Posted May 15, 2003 I can see why he would have adrinking problem. Going from being the #1 guy in history to being like Trivia247 said a gate attraction. It has to be really hard, especially if he has any type of an ego
Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted May 15, 2003 It has to be really hard, especially if he has any type of an ego It'd pretty much crush your spirits. I mean, that's not the greatest thing to be told. "Oh, by the way, your fucked up so badly that you can't reallly do anything that you normally love to do." Not the greatest line you wish to hear. What is the point of this? The money match is with Lesnar. Fans in NYC at that ESPNZone thing prior to Mania were BEGGING for Austin and Brock to get in a fight since they were both in the same room. Bored 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2003 Gee ya know a site is credible when it puts this at the end of the article: Latest Update: WWE Tells Austin To Go To Rehab or ELSE! This is the type of site that steals the bullshit from 1wrestling and turns it into even bigger bullshit.

This is the type of site that steals the bullshit from 1wrestling and turns it into even bigger bullshit. As you probably already know, Steve Austin's probation period from his domestic abuse charges has ended so he is now able to drink beer on camera. Officials claim the drinking doesn't stop in the ring and that Austin has been drinking very heavily off-camera as well, which has drawn a lot of concern from those close to him. Many feel that he's doing this as a way to cope with his sudden retirement from in-ring competition. (Thanks to PWTorch.com) You Were saying something Bored? Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted May 15, 2003 Until it affects his on air preformance, tell these over dramatic high school girls in the WWE locker room to get off Austin's back.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted May 15, 2003 Until it affects his on air preformance, tell these over dramatic high school girls in the WWE locker room to get off Austin's back. heh what would the scale on how bad it could get... before they give Austin some rest therapy and or a 12 step program.. Sandman level? or Scott Hall Level? don't quite remember which one is worse but I know their both bad. but hell Maybe Austin would shrug off the Melancholy about being unable to wrestle anymore and still understand the starpower he has. Guest Austin3164life Report post Posted May 15, 2003 This sucks. I hope he copes with the fact that he is done. I still believe with a long rest he probably has another ****+ in him, but I'm not so sure. Even though his WM 19 match with Rocky was a great one, it still doesn't feel right because Austin basically returned to do a return-job to The Rock. I would like to see him put over someone like Brock or Jericho at 'Mania XX.
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted May 16, 2003 Austin wrestling Brock or Jericho could lead to even more damage...because he'd go balls out to put on a good match. With Hogan, it's pretty much a guarentee he won't be hurt.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 16, 2003 Putting him with Jericho or Lesnar wouldn't work because Austin's in a VERY weakened physical state and throwing him in with wrestler like Jericho or Lesnar, whom are fast-impact wrestlers...won't serve to make either of them look good... Hogan and Goldberg are the only matches that Austin NEEDS to do in terms of Making money because let's face it...Austin/Benoit won't draw shit compared to Austin/Hogan or Berg... Guest My Eyebrow is on fire Report post Posted May 16, 2003 On the one hand, what he did to Debra was totally uncalled for and you could say he deserves to suffer dearly for his horrible, horrible crime. This is karma...and it's a bitch. On the other hand, maybe Debra was getting too fucking mouthy and deserved to get her ass kicked. Fucking bitch, make me a samich! Guest Mole Report post Posted May 16, 2003 Until it affects his on air preformance, tell these over dramatic high school girls in the WWE locker room to get off Austin's back. Yeah, then tell that to all of the other wrestlers who passed away from drug use because no one said anything. Brian Pillman, Elizabeth, Curt Henning, Louie Spicolli, and Davey Boy Smith, just to name a few. No one said anything about their drug problems, and looked what happened to them. I hope that Austin stops his drinking so we don't hear about Austin dieing, hitting another women, getting in a car accident because he drank too much. I am glad the locker room is on his back, I wish they would of done the same with wrestlers who have died in the past because of drug use. Just look at Arn Anderson, he is cleaning up his act. He knew he had a problem, and he is fixing it. Eddie Guerrero had a problem with drinking and with drugs. He went to rehab, and now is a better person. I am glad people either got on his back or he realized it himself, because it would of been a shame if he lost his job or died. This isn't high school drama, this is real life. Don't wait until it affects his on air performance, that would be the worst thing to happen. Drinking IS NOT the way to get away from your problems, it only makes it worse. Trust me, I know from experience. If Austin has a drinking problem, get him into rehab so we don't loose one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, and an icon to this business. Guest evilhomer Report post Posted May 16, 2003 ^ Amen. Ignoring that he is a human being, Austin still has a lot to offer the business. He got over on ring work and great promo ability. Just because his body won't let him work a match anymore, he can still be a great entertainer in a non-wrestling role as long as he keeps his head in the game. He can't do that if his drinking gets too out of control. The more important aspect is that he is a human being. Mole said it best, drinking isn't the answer to any depression he feels. Do something now before he ruins his life or worse, ends it.
