Owen Hart died four years ago on this date in 1999.

I thought it would be nice to have a thread remembering Owen. Post all thoughts, memories, etc. here.

Drop what?

It's not like anyone is pulling a Piper and going OMG ROSSO KILLED OWEN!

I always watch Bret v. Owen on May 23rd and today will be no different.

This must be a tough week for the Hart family

*Sigh* One of the freakest days...four years ago.

I ordered that PPV too...some freaky ass shit to hear Owen died...

Owen was one of the first 5 wrestlers I ever saw...I knew him my whole wrestling viewing career...to hear that he was gone...it sent chills up my spine.

He left too soon...I think he could have been WWF Champion at least once in his career.

Owen was one of the best. I don't think I ever remember him having a bad match. I remember cheering as loud as I could when he beat Bret at Wrestlemania 10

:(

This day always sneaks up on me and brings back all the same feelings I felt 4 years ago when I first heard. I miss Owen too. :(

My favorite moment featuring Owen is a small one most don't even notice. During soem match in 1997 Bulldog is coming out and is flexing when suddenyl Owen sneaks under his arm to get in front of Bulldog and steal the spotlight.

Don't even know wy but I LOVED that moment.

Favourite Owen Moments:

Bret vs Owen- The steel cage match. IMO the best cage match ever. I LOVED how they tried to get out of the cage as fast as they could instead of taking forever as wrestlers usually do. Everybody do themselves a favor and watch this.

Owen's matches against Benoit and Lyger

Owen's belly to belly suplex off of the ropes. THis is perhaps the most beautiful move in wrestling ever and that covers a lot of ground.

Owen at the slammy awards: From the acceptance speech to promoting the whole slammy show for a year and than stealing the best bow tie aware. Classic stuff

I've been meaning to start one of these threads all day.

Man, it seems like just yesterday...I can remember exactly where I was and what I was doing. At my cottage in Regina and I had just finished watching some made for tv movie about Jesse Ventura and then the news came on and said that a wrestler had died in a car crash. Well, clearly the were wrong about the car crash thing and they corrected it saying that it was an accident at the ppv. Names were rushing through my head as to who it could be and when they said it was Owen I just broke down crying. It killed me. Owen was always one of my favorite wrestlers and I had watched him my entire life.

I still think about him a ton and he is my hero, above everyone else...Owen Hart is my hero.

God bless him and his family.

I can still remember crying for two hours through RAW is Owen as though it happend last night.

My favourite Owen memories include his Slammy wins (I DID IT! WOOOO! - After awarding himself the award), his legendary match against his older brother at Wrestlemania 10 and his King of the Ring win.

God bless Owen Hart.

Owen holds a special spot in my heart. It was back when he and Bret were feuding did I really see what kind of competitor he was. My lil brother liked him more than Bret...and I liked Bret more than Owen, and it was kind of a sibling rivalry. The cage match at SummerSlam 94 between the two is the best cage match ever put on by the WWE, even better than HIAC at Badd Blood and HIAC at NWO 2000. Seeing some of his stuff from Japan against Lyger and then some of his other matches with and against Bulldog, among others. I was completely amazed and disgusted at the same time, becuase Owen was simply a piece of brilliance in that ring, and it disgusted me when he didn't really get a chance to shine after Bret left. But when I look back on it, Owen was a great performer, a better wrestler, and a class act. I always get a little wrench in my stomach when I think about it...and he's in my mind whenever I see something that reminds me of him. Instead of getting over it, like some people think is the best thing to do, I do think it's best that we get stuff like this out and amongst ourselves.

Owen, you're missed. I hope you're having great matches in that wrestling ring upstairs.

Rest in peace.

Holy shit. The EXACT same situation occurred with me and my younger brother - He was the Owen fan and I was the Bret fan.

I was 9 years old when I bet him my Bret Hart figure that Owen would lose at WMX.

To cut a long story short, I got pissed.
