Guest Rob Edwards Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 seemed a higher quality than usual this year, I'm personally shooting for the Norwegian entry which I felt just pipped Tatu Us Limey's totally sucked, the Austrian dude ruled in a weird way and The Polish guy was the worst singer I've ever heard any other Eurovision marks about?
Guest Rob Edwards Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 Heh I'm a die hard mark for the guy already. "Rabbits have little noses" screw Lennon and McCartney now THATS lyrical genius I'm just pleased Belgium didn't win
Rob E Dangerously Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 this is his video: http://video.eirovizija.lv/clip.asp?cat=2&...&quality=100#25
Guest Rob Edwards Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 *downloads* Must say I quite enjoyed the heel heat tATu got, not a lot of lesbian fans in Riga tonight!
Rob E Dangerously Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 Fuck man.. do you THINK Latvians like Russians?
Guest Mr. Adam Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 Yeh there was some significant heel heat for Tatu tonight. Funny as hell though. Russia: 12 Points Crowd:Hisssssss! Boooo! Russia: 3 Points Crowd:Total explosion I did like the Irish entry though, it was pimped on RTE constantly over the last 3 months. Mickey Joe totally grew on me, like genital warts. I was upset about the lack of Israel love (at least I think it was Israel) Was that the dude playing air drums during his song? I was checking to see if I taped K-1 on Eurosport and I missed the country.
Rob E Dangerously Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 Poier is the man. When do we get to the entry from Liechtenstein?
Guest Rob Edwards Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 Nah they usually don't mind voting for each other, The crowd seemed ok with them to start with then totally turned on them when they teased the kissing I wasn't a fan of the Irish entry myself it kinda sounded like a pop idol job Nil Points for us though, that'll teach us to go to war!
Guest the 1inch punch Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 Nah they usually don't mind voting for each other, The crowd seemed ok with them to start with then totally turned on them when they teased the kissing I wasn't a fan of the Irish entry myself it kinda sounded like a pop idol job Nil Points for us though, that'll teach us to go to war! It WAS a Pop Idol Job Your'e a Star 2003 Oddly enough i dont care this year
Rob E Dangerously Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 Punch: did you not vote for Alf Poier? you bad man!
Guest Mr. Adam Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 I wasn't a fan of the Irish entry myself it kinda sounded like a pop idol job Haha, that's probably because it is. He won the You're A Star competition on RTE, which was quite brutal in it's quality. We had a nice voiceover during the show itself. Marty Whelan and Phil Coulter got bored and just let loose on some of the other nations. Especially Russia and that goon giving out the German vote. Funny as fuck, you could just tell that they had broken open a few bottles of JD. (Or cans of Dutch, it is Marty Whelan after all)
Guest Rob Edwards Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 I didn't vote for him either, I went with my Norwegian dude, the UK gave him 6 points so it wasn't 10p wasted! but yeah that explains it on the Irish thing anyone else obsessed by the Spanish girl?
Guest Rob Edwards Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 I think he came about 6th in the end
Guest Damn You Helmsley Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 Even though Eurovision parodies itself, Father Ted did it better.
Guest Rob Edwards Posted May 25, 2003 Report Posted May 25, 2003 We deserved it though, the song sucked and I have no idea what the kid singing for us thought it was trying to get the crowd going
Garth Posted May 25, 2003 Report Posted May 25, 2003 Terry Wogan was cracking me up with some of the stuff he was saying last night.
Guest Renegade Posted May 25, 2003 Report Posted May 25, 2003 Terry Wogan was cracking me up with some of the stuff he was saying last night. I dont think he actually gave a shit about anything that happened. It felt like somebody had forced him to watch it (kind of like me.)
Guest welshjerichomark Posted May 25, 2003 Report Posted May 25, 2003 Terry Wogan was fucking gold last night: Eurovision presenter: "Next year we are going to have TWO eurovision song contests" Terry: "WHAAAAAT?!?" He said in an interview that he has to get wasted while he does eurovision so that he can last the full three hours. I couldn't believe we had nil points, i mean the song sucked but jeeez. We were betrayed. Oh and i voted for the irish guy, mainly because he was hot.
rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted May 25, 2003 Report Posted May 25, 2003 Truly, Terry Wogan is a GOD. Who won? I was out clubbing.
Guest welshjerichomark Posted May 25, 2003 Report Posted May 25, 2003 ^ Turkey. Its was this chick who sang, rapped and belly danced. Quite entertaining if you like that sort of thing.
Guest Marshall Posted May 25, 2003 Report Posted May 25, 2003 Us Limey's Never heard anyone refer to themselves as a 'limey' before. Very odd. Eurovision sucks. I used to watch for Terry Wogan. Terry Wogan is a pimp macdaddy btw.
Guest nl5xsk1 Posted May 29, 2003 Report Posted May 29, 2003 I'm an American, but was working in the UK for the last few months, so got to watch Eurovision for the first time. So, I went to a little party and had drinks with a room full of Brits who got VERY angry with America (as in ME) for the lack of points that their country was receiving. (basically, stupid American and it's stupid war ... blah blah blah). Finally I was able to convince them to how bad Gemini really was, and thus deserved the null points. Between that fact and few more drinks they were over their anger. I'm kind of glad the UK will get relegated next year; at least this way I'll be safe to watch it with them again.
Guest welshjerichomark Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 ^they won't get relegated, Terry Wogan said so, it's because they give so much money to eurovision. I just can't understand why they don't put a decent pop act in there, like Liberty x or the Sugababes. At those can carry a tune and it's not like it's against the rules to put an established act in there.
rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 On Jonathan Ross last nite, he did an interview with radiohead wher he convinced them to do eurovision. Now, I know its not gonna happen, but how great would that be?
Guest welshjerichomark Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 That would suck. Radiohead stink. Get the Stereophonics to do it. ::post 800::
rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 That would suck. Radiohead stink. Get the Stereophonics to do it. BOO! Manics > Stereophonics
