Guest Report post Posted March 26, 2002 Dude, it isn't like he was picked per say, it's a "lottery." They intended for him to be on Smackdown, but wanted it to look like a real random thing, so they stuck him after Bradshaw and whoever else.
Guest El Luchadore Magnifico Report post Posted March 26, 2002 Luchadore, Good thought, but not correct. TNN was a cable station, so it was a matter of calling up the cable station and asking for the channel. UPN is a network, so UPN would have to be building stations (or stealing them from competitors) like a muthafucka to get Smackdown into all the markets that want to see the WWF. I see. That kinda screws people without UPN then, doesn't it? Just like bps said, Vince's star power is kinda useless without the right market for it.
Guest Lord of The Curry Report post Posted March 26, 2002 Here's what they gots to do.... Trade away Test,Albert,Rikishi and Mark Henry from Smackdown to RAW for RVD,Booker T,Lesnar and D'Lo. After that I would only watch Smackdown. The possibility of a Dreamer/Raven feud on RAW is yummy, though. Keep in mind that Heyman is also on RAW, which means some Heyman vs Flair promo wars... Guest teke184 Report post Posted March 26, 2002 The only way that UPN could spread REALLY fast is if Paramount cuts a deal with an established TV station to show UPN programming, much like The WB had with WGN before The WB spread outside the 20 or so major markets in the US. Guest Tony149 Report post Posted March 26, 2002 I could see Flair & Vince trading the shows. They made a big deal of Raw being Vince's baby. Man, Raw doesn't have the greatest roster in the world.
Guest teke184 Report post Posted March 26, 2002 I'd make the most important people on RAW the following: RVD Booker Lesnar Molly DLo Just about everyone else is someone that Lesnar can beat up to get over as a monster.

Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted March 26, 2002 Well when UT says he's the big dog in the yard I believe him now. He's the only one with any "real" star power. And who's the POISON going to feud with?
Guest Report post Posted March 26, 2002 I'm 1 of the unfortunate that doesn't get UPN. I'll miss you guys.
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted March 26, 2002 Looking at the complete list, I'd say that Smackdown has the stronger main event tier, but both lists are about equal with the midcarders. Also, some of you guys are forgetting that THIS IS A WORK. The writing staff picked which wrestlers are going where, for their own reasons. It's not supposed to be "the sports entertainment Raw" or "the wrestling Smackdown", BOTH shows are being run by the same people. A question: which sides get Heat, Jakked, Excess, and Livewire? Not to mention the PPVs. And finally, this move is supposed to provide more TV time for more wrestlers, but I don't see how that could happen. It's the same amount of television show time, just split up differently. It's like having two small glasses of water instead of one big one, there's no difference outside of the packaging. Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted March 26, 2002 I'm happy. TSN always screws Canadians with RAW, but we can get Smackdown no problem.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 26, 2002 Would anyone order a Raw ppv? Seriously? And HHH gets to be on all of them...one more useless log for the fire.

Although if it does become a wrestling show (Instead of a recap show) like Lawler said, then there's two hours that can be used for guys who don't get much TV time. Guest WarMachine Report post Posted March 26, 2002 Ok. Here are the rosters thus far, for anyone who may have not been able to get to WWF.com, or merely for comparison purposes. I still expect some shit to happen on Smackdown though, like trades and such. By no means finalized. And there are still a few names noticably absent, either becuase of injury, or simply not enough room to make it a well-rounded draft. Ric Flair / WWF Raw Undertaker Kevin Nash Scott Hall X-Pac Kane Rob Van Dam Big Show Buh Buh Ray Dudley Brock Lesnar William Regal Lita Bradshaw Steven Richards Matt Hardy Raven Jeff Hardy Mr. Perfect Spike Dudley D'Lo Brown Shawn Stasiak Terri Jacqueline Goldust Trish Stratus Justin Credible Big Boss Man Tommy Dreamer Crash Molly Vince McMahon / WWF Smackdown The Rock Hulk Hogan Kurt Angle Chris Benoit Billy Chuck Edge Rikishi D'Von Dudley Mark Henry Maven Billy Kidman Yoshihiro Tajiri Chris Jericho Ivory Albert The Hurricane Al Snow Lance Storm Diamond Dallas Page Torrie Wilson Scotty 2 Hotty Stacy Keibler Christian Test Faarooq Tazz Hardcore Holly Val Venis Perry Saturn
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted March 26, 2002 shit, the draft was a total dissapointment for me. the only suprise was benoit getting drafted and even that wasn't that suprising.

I don't think that will happen, since most markets don't carry Jakked/Metal. Maybe they will give Vince Heat, and Flair Excess... not like it matters anyway

Guest Some Guy Report post Posted March 26, 2002 BPS a Raw PPV would give your dream match RVD vs HHH. We would get to see who has more heat. The winner is already a foregone conclusion. Raw has 9 guys I like to watch and Smackdown has 17. Seems that they didn't ask me how to equalize the rosters. BTW they have way they drafted 60 people and Austin, Chavo, Godfather, Kaentai, Debra, Kanyon, Awesome, Rhyno, Blackman, and HHH and Jazz, not to mention the developmental guys didn't get drafted. They must have the biggest roster ever, that's 72 performers + developmental + Eddy and Rey and whoever else is coming in. Too much IMO, even for 2 shows. Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 26, 2002 It does however...give HHH twice as much TV time as everyone else. Super.
Guest Report post Posted March 26, 2002 Come to think of it, with Flair's roster, there's no need to have a 2nd show like Jakked/Metal... This blows. I need to find a way to get UPN... Must get a dish, even though I'm a poor college student...
Guest teke184 Report post Posted March 26, 2002 If you have relatives living in a town with UPN, get them to tape Smackdown for you. That's what I do considering my college town doesn't get UPN.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted March 26, 2002 even though flair's show has an inferior roster i still bet his show will be better.
Guest Report post Posted March 26, 2002 Well, when my parents found out I was a big wrestling fan... they thought I was gay for about a year... so that won't work.
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted March 26, 2002 Smackdown! is stacked. Raw is looking like it will be the weaker of the shows. Kane v. NWO is the big feud to start with......there's got to be some trades. Some people will still get jobbed but whatever. I wish Flair would've gotten the cruisers, but if the same writers are writing both shows it doesn't really matter I guess.
Guest Lil Naitch Report post Posted March 26, 2002 Anybody know if ST. Louis is getting a UPN affiliate anytime soon? WB-11 used to carry Smackdown! on Saturdays, but then dropped it in favor of the Buffy-Roswell-Enterprise combo. Now, Enterprise is hardly on, Buffy is usually repeats, and Rsowell seems to have been cancelled in favor of Cheers re-runs that you can see every f'ing Sunday anyways. Guest thebear Report post Posted March 26, 2002 Jericho was picked 14th by smackdown i believe... wasn't he not allowed to be picked until the end of raw... i say you guys should be pleased... no more steph (At least for a while) leading me to believe that Shane's coming back
