Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted May 27, 2003 Let's get the cliched ones out of the way with vs. Savage at Wrestlemania III and the Flair series from '89.
Guest bravesfan Report post Posted May 27, 2003 Nearing the end of his career... v. Ric Flair at Spring Stampede 1994 v. Steve Austin at BATB 94 v. Steve Austin at COTC 28 (his last match)
Guest Sykotic2002 Report post Posted May 27, 2003 Can't forget Steamboat & Douglas v. The Holloywood Blondes. I liked his matches he hadwith Rick Rude in 1992 also.
Guest pete Report post Posted May 27, 2003 His return to WCW in 92 when he tagged with Dustin Rhodes against the Enforcers of Arn Anderson, and Larry Zbyzsco(sp). He was in a hell of a war games match that year. The Return match against Flair from Spring Stampede. The tag match with Eddie Gilbert against Windham and Flair in 89. At the Great American Bash against Luger in 89 was a great match. Along with almost any Ric Flair match, and the aforementioned matches mentioned in the previous posts. I just loved watching Steamboat work a match. He was so good at what he did.
Guest JHawk Report post Posted May 27, 2003 vs. Bret Hart (Boston Garden 3/8/86). Hard to find but definitely worth a pickup if you can find it.
EL DANDY~! 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2003 Go OUT OF YOUR WAY to see the Rhodes/Steamer vs. Enforcers match at the Clash XVI. Incredibly great match. Enforcers bring the awesome heel tag team shtick. Steamer brings the DRAWMUH~! Oh. And yeah. His mini-series with Austin was great.
Guest natholy Report post Posted May 27, 2003 vs. Bret Hart (Boston Garden 3/8/86). Hard to find but definitely worth a pickup if you can find it. Thats the same match from the WWF home video tape on the Hart Foundation? Also is there another Bret vs Ricky match out there on tape? regards nate holynski
Guest natholy Report post Posted May 27, 2003 Also try Steamboat vs Rick Rude from Jacksonville, Florida Late November 1993 a WCW house show got it on fancam. a NWA title macth Steamboat vs Rude Superbrawl 2 US title Steamboat vs Rude 30 minute Iron man match from Beach Blast 1992. I really loved the feud and the series of matches these guys had, Rude was great at getting heat and Steamboat was great and getting the fan support behind him in a big way, the 2 always had fun and different matches against one another. regards nate holynski
Guest Andy Report post Posted May 27, 2003 On his shoot interview there's a great match between him and Tiger Mask II (Misawa.) Cheers.
The Dames 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2003 v. Steve Austin at BATB 94 If that's the same one that on the Austin DVD, it definitely shouldn't qualify as one of Steamboat's best matches. Even Austin himself was disappointed with the fact that of all the matches he had with Steamer, that was the one chosen for his WHAT DVD. Dames
Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted May 27, 2003 seriously for anyone that would be interested, go to RF Video and get the best of the Steamboat vs. Flair feud. $12 = best bargain ever!!!!!!
Guest Goodear Report post Posted May 27, 2003 Another good one was Steamboat and I think either Tom Zenk or Brad Armstrong under hoods against The Hollywood Blonds in a cage at Slamboree ('94?). Steamer pulls a rabbit out of his hat carrying the action while teaming with someone who couldn't do too much (because they were supposed to actually be Shane Douglas). The ending flurry of near falls is just damn awesome after a really fun build up.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2003 GAB89 is the bets example of his talent IMO as he carried a worthless lump like Luger to a great match.
Guest The Rising Star Report post Posted May 27, 2003 Thanks for the tips, Steamboat has always been one of my favorites.
Guest tank_abbott Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Steamer vs Bob Orton jr.... BOT WWF Vol 9(?) a real good 15 min match

Thats the same match from the WWF home video tape on the Hart Foundation? Also is there another Bret vs Ricky match out there on tape? regards nate holynski I'll assume that's the one, as there was only one other Bret-Steamboat match ever and as far as I know it was never released on tape. I actually have a tape of that Boston Garden show though, so I couldn't tell you.
