cawthon777 Posted May 27, 2003 Report Posted May 27, 2003 Damnit! Only 2 years after I transfer from Arizona State and Summer Slam comes to town? *Takes a deep breath* I'm going to WrestleMania. I don't care about Summer Slam. Btw, where did you get that info from?
Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Posted May 27, 2003 Report Posted May 27, 2003 For the official word, always go to: http://www.wwe.com/ppv/calendar/
Guest Choken One Posted May 27, 2003 Report Posted May 27, 2003 Holding out hope that WWE comes to Cincy some day... *Remembers last PPV in Cincy... Shakes Head and Cries*
Guest The Hollywood Fashion Plate Posted May 27, 2003 Report Posted May 27, 2003 Souled Out 2000? My sympathies.
Guest RenegadeX28 Posted May 27, 2003 Report Posted May 27, 2003 Souled Out 2000? My sympathies. LOL......
Bored Posted May 27, 2003 Report Posted May 27, 2003 Aug. 24, 2003: SummerSlam America West Arena, Phoenix, AZ Hmmm interesting because there had been all that talk about making SummerSlam the big stadium/dome show for the year with Wrestlemania XX already scheduled for MSG. Guess they don't have confidence in being able to get 40,000+ for it.
Guest Choken One Posted May 27, 2003 Report Posted May 27, 2003 Yep...Yours truely was in Attendence for Benoit's one and ONLY world title win... Yours truely was also in attendence for the worst 2 hours and 40 minutes of Wrestling (It wasn't even Funny Bad like Bash 91 or KOTR95)...It was only worthwhile to see Benoit win the title and see about 500 People just up and LEAVE the the arena during the announcement of Bret Hart's Concussion... I can't stand how Cleveland will get a PPV per year...and about 10 Raws...While Cincy gets a Smackdown and a House show and that's it for the entire year...

But remember Cleveland loves the same that Vince and company... If my memory works fine, way back in 2001, in cleveland, they CHEER Buff Bagwell !!!!!! In that Roman Emperor thing Vince did.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 Houston! Denver! Phoenix! ...Hershey?

Yeah, but also remember that Cleveland still draws very well for TV and PPV as well. And if a show sucks, the Cleveland crowd will let you hear it, which is why WCW rarely booked shows there after the 5/21/1998 Thunder got booed out of the building. But as many times as WWE does TV and PPV in Louisville and Columbus, why not make a road trip?
Guest The Tino Standard Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 Cleveland has gotten PPVs in 1987, 1988 (I THINK they were at the Coliseum for the second SurSer, but that could be wrong), 1996, 1999, 2001. We get 1-2 Raw/SmackDown shows per year.

Guess they don't have confidence in being able to get 40,000+ for it. Actually, the rumor is that since WrestleMania XX (2004) will be at MSG, they will run a dome for SummerSlam 2004. Not '03.
Guest res37618 Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 Actually, the Hershey, PA/Unforgiven thing, although a rumor, is pretty cool. I don't think they've done TV or PPV there since '95, and the new Giant Center (www.giantcenter.net) is really nice, or at least appears to be on the website. I remember seeing a couple of Saturday Night's Main Event's taped from Hersheypark Arena, as well as IYH 5 (with Bret vs. Bulldog), so if true, a return to Hershey, PA is kinda neat. But, knowing the current product, we'll get Trish and Stacy rolling around in chocolate sauce as one of the matches . . .well, wait, that wouldn't be too bad after all
Guest The Hollywood Fashion Plate Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 ADDED: No Mercy October 19, 2003 Baltimore, Maryland Survivor Series November 16, 2003 Dallas, Texas
cawthon777 Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 If tickets are cheap, I'll go to No Mercy. I plan on being in that area for the weekend anyway. I heard Armageddon will be in Orlando. Maybe that's just a rumor at this point.
Garth Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 Damn WWE need to do some proper broadcast in America PPV's over hear. They would pretty much be a definate sell out if they did. So i can't see anything stopping them other than possibly the time difference.
Guest Showstoppa Icon Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 damn, nothing in the NY-NJ-CT area
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 What IS the time difference from UK-to-US, by the way? Something like 6 hours, right?
Guest Zero_Cool Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 Survivor Series is in town this year..rock on! Eh, if it's Nash/HHH VI headlining, I may pass on the show, though.
Guest The Tino Standard Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 damn, nothing in the NY-NJ-CT area Tell me that was sarcasm.
Guest The Hollywood Fashion Plate Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 If you'll notice, the Sept or Oct PPV has been held in an unusual place several times in the past. 9/20/1998: Breakdown: IYH @ Copps Coliseum, Hamilton, ON 10/22/2000: No Mercy @ Pepsi Arena, Albany, NY 10/20/2002: No Mercy @ Alltel Arena, Little Rock, AR 9/14/2003: Unforgiven @ Giant Center, Hershey, PA
Guest The Hollywood Fashion Plate Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 Also, I think it's odd that the WWE has held its December PPV in a warm-weather state since 1999. I mean, if you're worried about the weather, couldn't you just hold it in the Midwest or something? Unless the point is to give the WWE guys a little vacation before going on holiday break later in the month, I don't get it. (OMG 500th post!!!!!!!!1!111)
Guest Retro Rob Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 damn, nothing in the NY-NJ-CT area Tell me that was sarcasm. Hey, as someone who lives in the tri-state area, I'll take all the PPVs I can get. It's every man for themself.
Guest Showstoppa Icon Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 damn, nothing in the NY-NJ-CT area Tell me that was sarcasm. Hey, as someone who lives in the tri-state area, I'll take all the PPVs I can get. It's every man for themself. ditto. Ive driven down to NY for too many shitty Raws, but have enjoyed any PPV ive ever been to there.
Guest Choken One Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 dallas? Again? Dallas/Houston, MSG/NY/NJ, Boston, get WAY to many shows! They get at least 3 a year... Do we really need another dallas show? Come to Cincy! WE HAVE GREAT CROWDS! Sure we only have a 7,000 seat arena but I'm sure overcrowding won't be a problem considering the interest rate of WWE at the moment...
Guest Ash Ketchum Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 Booooooo. No Detroit show. We should get one every year... just because. Last one we got was Vengeance last summer, I believe. Whatever show it was, I remember one thing... IT SUCKED.
Guest JMA Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 I think WWE should put the "World" back in its name and hold more shows around the globe. I would love to see them go to France just for the big La Resistance pop and the Steiner booing.
