Guest sean pyro Posted May 27, 2003 Report Posted May 27, 2003 I wasn't really a big internet.. backstage.. observer.. whatever.. follower back then. But I was reading a few "Did you know" bios the other day I remember reading about people like Vader and Ultimate Warrior who were going to sign with ECW but later back out because they found out they were only going to be used for Taz to squash. Is there any truth to this? and if so was there any other names who were on the list?
Guest JAxlMorrison Posted May 27, 2003 Report Posted May 27, 2003 Warrior talked about it on his site a couple years ago. He definitely balked and backed out. I don't know about Vader though.
The Dames Posted May 27, 2003 Report Posted May 27, 2003 I definitely think it's true after the whole Paul Verelans situation with Missy Hyatt. Dames
Guest Mattdotcom Posted May 27, 2003 Report Posted May 27, 2003 I've heard rumors of Warrior and Vader going to ECW, too. I wouldn't doubt it.
Rendclaw Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 the Varleans situation was just screwed up.... though I loved the way Taz punked him out verbally at the time... Taz yelling "Come on! Bring it! You don't belong here!" all the time while cops and security held Varleans back was funny as hell, though... back in those days I thought of Taz as a legit badass.. I shivered every time I saw the show intro where he give Mikey whipwreck a Taz-pleax and you see mikey's head at one angle while the reast of him is at another....
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 Definately heard that Vader was gonna be brought in but I heard the Cornette convinced him not to. (Cornette is friends with Vader and hin and Heymen don't get along)
Guest tank_abbott Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 BRACCUS and Taz did have a mini fued.... boy major rub there!!!!
Guest nl5xsk1 Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 I thought Vader was going to be brought in as a partner for BBB? Or was that just what Vader was led to believe and he really was going to be fed to Taz?
Guest Eric the Eagle Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 I can't imagine Heyman using a name and wrestler like Vader as a squash. I could easily see him putting Taz over Vader, though.
Guest Nevermortal Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 I loved Taz as the thug with a Napoleon complex and a penchant for Head Drops. Bam Bam putting him through the ring is high up on my favorite moments in wrestling.
Guest Eagan469 Posted June 2, 2003 Report Posted June 2, 2003 Heyman at one point wanted WCW to loan them Flair for one night to go to a one-hour draw with Shane Douglas.
Guest Zack Malibu Posted June 2, 2003 Report Posted June 2, 2003 Before the crucifixion angle that had apparently turned him off from the product, Angle was being groomed to come in and feud with Taz, giving Taz more of that "I beat a legitimate guy" rub.
