I'm constantly trying to improve as well. In all honesty, I don't think I'm that good at all.

don't let the negative vibes discourage you. your recaps are more thorough and well-written than almost anything SK has written.

 

hyatte actually dissected SK and his book a few columns back... and you know what... he was right on almost all accounts. SK is someone who doesn't have a college education or a degree in literature or the english language; he doesn't have any inside sources and basically no credentials to write a book on wrestling HISTORY. his sole inspiration for writing is because his old english teachers (in canada!) told him he was a good writer.

 

as for his current rants, i honestly don't blame him for not putting the time and effort into the current wwe product. if the wwe doesn't give a shit about the product, why should he?

SK's resentment from the whole internet stems from a basic arguing principle.

 

Rule 1 - To humbly disagree with your opponent is civil and acceptable.

Rule 1b - To unapologetically disagree with your opponent can be perceived as rude, yet is acceptable.

Rule 1c - To disagree with your opponent and call his opinion idiotic is rude and obnoxious. It's arguably unacceptable.

 

Nobody would hate SK for his negative opinions if he wasn't so over-the-top with them. However, that's what makes him more entertaining than, say, Dames (who's one sweet and proper chap 99.9% of the time).

With all that being said, if tomorrow he e-mailed you and told you he was going to quit 411 and wanted to come write for TSM, would you turn him down (with all the traffic he would bring)?

His older reviews are much better. He seems to lost interest in the product, which is fine for a fan but not really fine for a reviewer. If the basketball season sucks, the announcers can't stop paying attention to the games.

Lately every single thing is bad, and when Benoit or some of "his boys", didnt get a good match or it didnt boost the ratings, its not his fault its another person.

He gave some Hot pokers to Steph because she and HHH meet preview to HHH match in JD. Just because they meet and talk...

 

Now, the Torch comented that this segment could be a seed for a new angle, but of course, thinking about the future only counts when involves someone He like.

honestly, yes.

 

dames and i already had this discussion.

 

the goal is definitely to gather more hits but more importantly MY original goal in accepting apps and being a part of the website was to see NEW writers get exposure and grow as writers. honestly, i love commentary on wrestling. i am addicted to reading it. i love to read different points of view, criticism, humor, and things that make a brother go hmmmm. SK does not offer me any of these things. if i need to get the 411 on SD, i go to dr. tom. Raw-JHawk, PPV's and NWA- Dames. They put more effort and quality in their work than SK has in the last two-three years.

 

i gain much more satsifaction knowing that NEW and better writers, who didn't have the luxury or exposure of being around during wrestling's boom in the late 90's, are gathering an audience. seriously, how many writers from wrestleline were really worth a shit? look at brandon truitt. compare his Bret Hart #2 shoot interview recap to SK's. It isn't even close when determining who put more effort (and is a better read) into it.

 

As Dames wrote in the TSM 1 year anniversary column...

"Every month, our numbers increase. Every month, more readers are finding TSM and that we are one of the best sites on the internet for weekly TV recaps and opinions. But that doesn’t mean that we are getting complacent."

 

SK doesn't fit into those plans.

SK used to mention his job in his older rants, but nothing lately. Considering how much free time the man must have on his hands for tape reviews, DVD reviews, and TV recaps he either works in retail, or he's not working.

 

I can't stand his WWE rants anymore, each one is basically the same. I do enjoy his DVD reviews and his non WWE wrestling reviews (RoH, and Puro)

but tiger, justin and jhawk write far better ROH reviews than he does. he is pretty ignorant on the topic of puro and throws stars out of nowhere. i would say he is batting at about .100 right now.

For anyone that hates Scott Keith, take solace in the fact that he's fat and ugly and probably not totally happy with life and even if he get less fat with a diet and gym membership he'll still be ugly unless he's on Extreme Makeover or something but I don't think they do Canada anyways so like I said take solace my brothers.

 

Because when you go out of your way to be an ass and correct something an announcer says, you need to make sure you're actually right.  Otherwise you look like a complete ass, like someone who corrects someone else's typos but doesn't capitalize correctly.  You know what I'm saying?  Anyway, Scott Keith does a lot of things I don't like so I don't read him.
