Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 Chono and Kobashi would be over as fuck in America. There's a lot more to them than just ring work and I think the crowds would see it. Mutoh too I guess. er...I don't actually have a question. Go about your lives.
Guest wildpegasus Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 Muto already got over back around 1989 when he was wrestling in the WCW. Chono and Kobashi would no dobut be over as well. Otani could get mad over as well. Remember the match against Eddy at Starcade? The fans didn't even know who he was yet in that short time he managed to get heel heat on himself.
EL DANDY~! Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 That Ohtani match was the absolute shit. The people went NUTSO for the springboard moves he did, ESPECIALLY the plancha (where after he stood on Eddie's face because he's Shinjiro Fuckin Ohtani and he can fuckin do that) and the springboard dropkick (where he got a PERFECT PINPOINT ACCURATE SHOT at the back of Eddie's head). I swear that right now, if he were to come in with Benoit and start shit up again that you'd see some shit you'd think we'd never see. And it's perfect, too, since both men have moved up from the juniors level and are now light-heavyweights. Question...I think, 57 is it? I remember hearing about the Diamondhead and then seeing pictures of it being performed on Kanemaru, if I remember right. Didn't Kobashi injure himself the first time he tried to do that move?
Guest wildpegasus Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 Otani rules the world. He always has and always will. Did anyone see the first televised Benoit and Otani match where Otani's a young lion and Benoit puts him over in an upset pin? Great stuff. Question about the Nov 97 match between Benoit and Otani: This is the only match I've ever seen where it seems like Benoit actually gets ticked at his opponent. There's one point in the match after a headbutt where he warns Otani very audibly something like "Don't you ever backpump me again" Does anyone know what this was about? I was guessing it might've been the bootscrapes in the corner since he might not have known that was now one of Otani's moves but that doesn't make too much sense since Benoit typically takes his hits from his opponents very stiffly.

I wasn't gonna mention it, but since you did..... If you mean the Cruiserweight tourney.... Fuck yeah. That match was amazing. I was loving every minute of it, and I dug Ohtani's underdog like nothing else. Something about that guy, from his rubbery build, to his facial expressions just got me to root for him, and benoit is my favorite, so that's no small feat.
