Staind is back atop the Billboard Charts. Their latest album, 14 Shades of Grey, entered at #1 with 220,000 copies sold.

The Deftones debuted at #2 with their self titled fourth album selling 167,000 copies.

The exposure of the American Idol 2 finale seems to have boosted Kelly Clarkson's Thankful. The album moved up to #3 with 105,000 copies sold.

Evanescence's Fallen continues to be one of the year's true surprises, moving up to #4 with 103,000 copies, increasing its total sales to over 1.1 million.

50 Cent's Get Rich or Die Tryin' slipped to #5 with 101,000 copies sold.

The soundtrack to The Matrix Reloaded took the #6 spot with 94,000 copies sold.

Norah Jones' Come Away With Me sold another 83,000 copies to land at #7. The album has now topped 6 million in total sales.

The soundtrack to The Lizzie McGuire Movie came in at #8 with 77,000 copies sold.

David Banner's major label debut, Mississippi: The Album, entered at #9 with 75,000 copies sold.

Rounding out the top ten is The Very Best of Cher which sold 73,000 copies.

Marilyn Manson's The Golden Age of Grotesque, last week's #1 album, slipped 20 spots in its second week to #21 with just 37,000 copies sold.

I'm suprised Evanescence has continued to do that well based on the one single. Anyone know if anything else on the cd is any good?

I'm not a Manson fan...so I get a laugh at his fall.

The Evanescence CD is pretty good all around. Out of curiosity, where did Weird Al Yankovic's "Poodle Hat" place, because that got little hype or press other than the Eminem thin.

God bless ye old Deftones. Gives me faith in humanity when something with intelligence debuts that high.

Of course Staind debuted at no.1 but I don't hate them as much as your average joe, so even that doesn't offend me much.

Hooray for the Manson tumble. I loved the last 3 CDs full of thought provoking lyrics, but to hell with that! Lets just say "fuck" a lot, release a CD full of attempts to regain his "edge" and try to be artsy at the same time. Odd that when he wasn't trying to be some big art experiment gone wrong, he actually was quite original and thoughtful. The Golden Age is a whole new level of shit though.

The Evanescence CD will probably continue to do well. Not my thing but she has a huge voice and the thing is full of radio friendly yet angry enough to appeal to your average 15 year old goth girl songs to keep it strong.

Nah, Manson's new disc is good, he's not trying to be edgy. He's trying to be funny, and poking fun at himself for being quaint and out of touch with what pisses people off these days. If you think he failed at that too, I have no argument.

I've heard that theory on it all before and if thats honestly what he was going for, then I shall let him off the hook lyrically. Sonically, the thing is still quite awful and I beg for some semblance of the old Manson back. But whatever, he has another hot girlfriend, I doubt he cares one way or another.

New Staind album???? How have I not heard of this??? I loved Break The Cycle, it's a winner. I wonder if that's been released in Australia yet. Someone let me know if it's any good. I've been considering getting a hold of the Evanesence CD too, good to hear they've got more than one good song

I haven't heard the whole thing, but from what I have, it is. "My Immortal" which I would think is the next single, even makes me tear up sometimes.

It has been realtivily low key release considering the hype job BTC got..but Price to Play is tearing up the charts...

I figured what spot it is. Poodle Hat's #17 on the Billboard 200...

So Cher at #10 sold 73,000, and Mason at #21 (ha!) sold 37,000...Al's somewhere in between all that, closer the Manson's sales then Cher's

Deftones are so intelligent! I mean, who else can have a chorus of "SHOVE IT, SHOVE IT, SHOVE IT"?!

Haha, I love busting the balls of Deftones fans.

Until I see a band that isn't completely creamed over by some form of uber-mainstream press in the Top 10, I still don't care.

The Evanescence CD is excellent stuff. One of the few CD's I can listen to without having to skip over a song.

The second single is "Going Under", btw. It's just started getting airplay around here.

Heh, you hardly "busted my balls" there, I mean my God, thats not even the lyric ...

Cloud...come

Shove it

Shove...the sun

Shove it

The sun

Shove it

Aside

Shove it aside

Admittedly hardly poetry, although a lot of their stuff is closer to that than anything else, but hardly j ust the screaming of "shove it" repeatedly.

And my God, you're a Shadows Fall fan, MY FEAR WILL DRAG YOU DOWN sounds like something that would come out of Fred Durst's mouth. Although oddly enough, I like Stepping Outside The Circle, doesn't really change the fact that the lyrics are about as nu metal whiney as it gets.

^That's another thing about Shadows Fall that annoys me, but I'll reserve full judgment until I see them live.

Glad I'm not the only one who shakes his head in disbelief when people rank deftones above all the other crap. Oh well, they're better than Staind. You're right Corey, it's genuinely fucking scary that people bought their new album. I don't even think this one was well received by critics. ARGH.

Will Agorophobic Nosebleed ever get a break? Their latest album Altered States of America is pure genius. Who else would think of putting 100 songs on a mini CD that only last about 20 minutes? PURE GENIUS!! They should be in the top 5 easily. :D

Shadows Fall is excellent live, saw them open for Mushroomhead (BWAHAHA) a while back in Tulsa. Needless to say they stole the show. Then again, a one armed chimp could steal the show from Mushroomhead.

I see no problem with mushroomhead, they were fine when I saw 'em. The worst part was the short length of the set.
