Guest vex_hecubus Posted May 29, 2003 Report Posted May 29, 2003 If I'm not mistaken I think his name was called "The Player" He used to come down to the ring wearing sports outfits(mostly in hockey gear} and his whole gimmick was beating guys on the outside causing them to be counted out for the win.
Guest DawnBTVS Posted May 29, 2003 Report Posted May 29, 2003 Bastion Booger....come on...a fat slob dressed in that grey X crossing suit...god...*shudders at the memories*
Guest sean pyro Posted May 29, 2003 Report Posted May 29, 2003 The Dungeon of Doom or Mantaur as my top picks.
Guest vex_hecubus Posted May 29, 2003 Report Posted May 29, 2003 I think you mean the Goon. That's it..."The Goon" Does it really matter....it was absolutely crap...Bastion Booger or the Brooklyn Brawler was better then that guy.
Guest Old Brown Heineken Posted May 29, 2003 Report Posted May 29, 2003 It has to be the Gobbledy Gooker He beats the crap out the others hands down!
Guest DawnBTVS Posted May 29, 2003 Report Posted May 29, 2003 At least The Goon had a gimmick...what was Booger's gimmick? Just being a fat slob!?!
Guest Old Brown Heineken Posted May 29, 2003 Report Posted May 29, 2003 At least The Goon had a gimmick...what was Booger's gimmick? Just being a fat slob!?! The thread says gimmick/character, and HEY~ the Gooker has a gimmick, he's UNIQUE!
Guest vex_hecubus Posted May 29, 2003 Report Posted May 29, 2003 At least The Goon had a gimmick...what was Booger's gimmick? Just being a fat slob!?! totally! A big fat slob that would gross out his opponents...What's a better gimmick then that? John Tenta as Avalanche/Earthquake(Whatever)?

Guest vex_hecubus Posted May 29, 2003 Report Posted May 29, 2003 What's a better gimmick then that? John Tenta as Avalanche/Earthquake(Whatever)? Guest Old Brown Heineken Posted May 29, 2003 Report Posted May 29, 2003 Honorable mention for the Red Rooster also!
Guest Old Brown Heineken Posted May 29, 2003 Report Posted May 29, 2003 Does anyone remember Ed Leslie as "Run-in-Man"? After having his face crushed in a para-sailing accident, Ed Leslie (aka Brutus Beefcake) needed a new gimmick. One that would cover up the scars of his accident. He was placed under a mask and made a couple of brief run-ins, costing people their matches. Therefore, he was named “Run-in Man”. The gimmick was never given the time to fully develop and it was quickly sent to the trash heap. Leslie would take some more time off before turning up in WCW along side his real boss, Hulk Hogan.

I remember that! I even remember when he wore all that black and white face paint and he was a member of The Dungeon of Doom haha
Tully316 Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 The Booty Man (booty! booty! booty!) The Gambler (came to the ring with a deck of cards) The KISS Demon Seven (oh my god!! He's floating to the ring!!)
Guest tank_abbott Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Bastion Booger....come on...a fat slob dressed in that grey X crossing suit...god...*shudders at the memories* I was about to post that! Plus Goon = Bill Irwin, decent long time wrestler, semi famous... Run in Man= Fur Face , right? I was there L-I-V-E for TL Hopper's Raw debuet
Guest tank_abbott Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 The Booty Man (booty! booty! booty!) The Gambler (came to the ring with a deck of cards) The KISS Demon Seven (oh my god!! He's floating to the ring!!) I have the Booty Man's debuet on tape, and the annoncers act like they've never seen this wrestler who's been around for 16 years+ before (and had 3-4 gimmicks in thier own company!)
Guest fazzle Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Well, them pretending they don't know Ed Leslie is still better than Shiavonie fucking up Berlyn's debut by saying it's Alex Wright right after they cut to him in the crowd, causing him to dissapear for months hoping the audience would forget that it was Wright. Wow, I really should have inserted a period somewhere in the middle of that.
Guest Austin3164life Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 I always though "Wildman" Marc Mero was a terrible gimmick.
Guest MentallyNormal Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 The Yeti That Leprechaun dude from WCW. Did that guy ever wrestle?
Guest tank_abbott Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 He was Buddy Lee Parker Now CHEETUM~.....
Guest The Decadent Slacker Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 I always thought the best gimmick that never made it was Evil Doink. He got pops, was turned, Borne was fired, the shit hit the fan. Booger was the fucking MAN! Best music ever. & the visual of him covered in turkey pieces at SurSeries '93 is one of the best/nastiest ever. I would say, personally, that the worst one was either the Mighty Hercules or the Bodydonnas. I HATE Herc with a passion, as he opitimised more than anyone (even Hogan, imo) what was wrong with wrestling: a talentless muscleheaded freak with the charisma of a brick who got pushed. See also Jones, Nathan. The 'donnas was just fucking dumb. Candido was a good worker, as was Pritchard at the time, & they got stuck in a losing gimmick. But, they could have been worse, wearing jockstraps on their heads or being gay brothers managed by Lanny Poofter, er Poffo.
Guest Old Brown Heineken Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 I loved Mike Rotundo and Ted DiBiase but I've always been thinking that the Money Inc. was a nonsens! Who could you have a millionaire and a tax man in the same team? Kudos to WWE's creative team of that time...
Guest Old Brown Heineken Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Let's not forget Jimmy Jack Funk! No relation with Terry or Dory. He was a sort of Texan cowboy (it reminds me of something but what?) with some make-up upon his face. His gimmick (a leftover from a short stint in the WWF) was that he was the "craziest" of the legendary Funk wrestling family (Dory, Dory Jr. and Terry). Of course he was not and was actually a Barr who had a more famous brother, the late Art Barr. Ahh, those crazy Texan...
thuganomics Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 OZ. Kevin Nash with green hair and munchkins. Nuff said.

Royal Rumble 94, Booger ate things from between his toes, or something like that...he got sick and missed the Rumble
