Guest Anglesault Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Huh? That was a VERY even feud ring wise You had Edge/Rey, the faces Eddie/Chavo, the sneaky heels and Angle/Benoit: The bumbling idiots who when they occasionaly got their act together, rocked. It was an even feud match wise, but the skits and often the way they jobbed (smacking yourself with a chair) made them look like retards
Mecha Mummy Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 That video WAS great....however, it DID seem a bit long...the friends who were watching with me on my big screen used it to takes piss breaks and stuff. One even said, "Oh come on, more crap and no wrestling!" Personally, I also thought that in addition to cutting it down, it could've used a much better song. That band sounded like almost every other Nu-Metal band...crappy guitar tones, and weak vocals. Still, I will capture it, and put it on Kazaa Lite for all of those interested. It will be Kurt Angle returns promo... ... Coldplay? A Nu-Metal band? Excuse me, reality is vanishing and it's making me kinda queasy...
Guest MixxMaster Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Okay now, back to the TOPIC...I have the promo on Kazaa now. The title is Kurt Angle Returns Promo. It's a big file (731MB), because compression is for wimps. So, if you don't have a high speed connection, it sucks to be you. Oh, and Use Kazaa Lite...no freakin' spyware.
Guest BANKYWOOD Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Anglesault, quit being weird. Angle's push is better than 98% of the roster. Only Trips, the Rock, and Austin get more favorable pushes than him. The writing aspect kinda holds the whole show back. But they definately give Angle chances.

Oh, at times it's probably bigger than alot of people's push. The Huge problem is that they refuse to keep him in the main event. So every six months they do a main event push, have him do whatever, than drop him WAY down, negating the whole last push.
Guest RedJed Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 From the video it seems like Angle will be brought back as a babyface after all *me happy* And by the way Benoit has been really de-pushed lately, one would think they will go with turning him and Rhyno against Angle and Lesnar, hopefully.
Guest Lil Naitch Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 I think this was the best video they've ever done. The choice of footage was great, the music was perfect (I went and downloaded it immediately, I hadn't heard that song before), the message was clear and hit straight on, I loved every aspect of it. One video I liked that doesn't get remembered all that much was a video they did for Flair set to Kid Rock's song "Cocky". It had a good dynamic because it was classic Flair footage set to a modern song. Plus again, it hit all the right notes and delivered the intended effect well. Actually, that was the theme for the 2002 Royal Rumble- the did an entire video package about the Rumble to that song, along with the Flair one. And then they removed teh song and put in some generic crap on the DVD
Guest MixxMaster Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 ... Coldplay? A Nu-Metal band? Excuse me, reality is vanishing and it's making me kinda queasy... take a Dramamine, then...or plug your ears upon hearing that crappy music. Whichever is easier...

Coldplay is to Nu-Metal as Metallica is to jazz. I don't like 'em much, but at least get the genre right.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 If you say "Kurt Angle" to a WWE fan, what do you think they will say back? "Milkman"? "Cry Baby"? "You Suck"? They have to do a total 180 with him, it's like that. No more fun and games, he's had 3 years of that already, it's time to buckle down and have him kick ass, take names, and tap some motherfuckers OUT. Change his music, change his persona, hell give him a new move as well (not right off the bat, but when he wins the title OR a #1 contenders match). They have to make him serious for us to take him seriously. When he says "I'm going to kick your ass" we shouldn't think "Oh ok there Kurt don't spray me with milk!", we should have the fear of god in us. They have set his motivation - and that's a step ahead of everyone else in the promotion - he wants to be the best, he was born to be the best, it is his destiny to be the best... Now PROVE IT.

Guest nikowwf Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Poor Benoit Poor Benoit because he would be getting put into a main even program with Angle & Brock? I don't see it...sorry.... niko

Don't worry, I'm currently encoding my own (I am the video whore of these forums) and will upload it to my host when it's done. Looks good, 25 megs or so. Sounds like the Kazaa guy encoded in uncompressed AVI. Laaaame. If you're going to use tremendous files, at least use Huffyuv (which clocks the Angle video in at 1.25 GB) or PicVideo (which would probably do it at about 550MB)

Uncompressed AVI=Laaaame? I think not. ANY compression reduces quality. If,however anyone wants a smaller MPEG version, it now is also on Kazaa: Kurt Angle Returns. Oh, and how many of you have heard of Huffyuv, or PicVideo? Yeah, I thought so. Now how many of you use Kazaa? Now, why do did I put it on Kazaa? Obviously, because not everyone is a Self-Professed Video Whore...
Guest Gary Busey Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 I haven't been too happy with the video packages lately. The actual content of the clips are great, but the quality of footage sucks ass. It appears that they don't shoot to true film any more, which is a shame, since it ingrains a certain amount of a special aura. I also dislike how much they depend on crappy filters to stimulate the footage when none need to be applied. Watch, for example, how often they brighten and blur the footage. To a certain degree, this is acceptable, but they use it too much and too poorly. Another thing they do is digitally zoom footage, which greatly reduces the quality of the image. I wish they would plan out their vantage points better so they could optically enhance what they get, instead of doing everything in post. The editing and content of the packages are for the most part great, but the presentation leaves a lot to be desired. (Another thing that sucks about how the WWE handles footage is the replays. Ever notice how much time they waste? For example, Goldberg's limo's door getting hit. Instead of showing an 8 second clip of the incident, they show about 27 seconds worth of footage that just bogs everything down. The show isn't as snappy as it used to be, because they stay on content too long and don't edit things down properly, considering the type of show and audience they push to.) Edit: Spelling.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 I'm I the only who was suprised that Kurt Angle got a video package? I'm glad he got one and it was so well made.
Guest Dangerous A Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 I now see why WWE would consider making Angle an ass kicking face. Somebody's gotta make John Cena look like a million bucks and they ain't turning Cena.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 Oh, and how many of you have heard of Huffyuv, or PicVideo? Yeah, I thought so. Well, PicVideo is a pay for codec so I can understand that, but Huffyuv is included in all of those "install one, run them all" video codec packages like the Nimo Codec and such. P.S.: Huffy > Uncompressed AVI. It's got all the detail AND it's a lossless codec so there's no frame loss. That's why the files are even BIGGER than what you get with uncompressed. When people want supreme quality they use Huffy. I record all my TV source to huffy then compress or resize from there. People use Huffy to make DVD video. In short, do not madmouth the Huffyuv. EDIT: Now, why do did I put it on Kazaa? Obviously, because not everyone is a Self-Professed Video Whore... That's... Nice, but if you went with the happy medium of a very well made DivX file or scrapped AVI entirely and used MPEG-2 (.mpg & .mpeg), it would be small enough to fit on some hosts and you could have people download from a source that's faster than whatever your connection is.
Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 How many other wrestlers get teams named after them? Angle gets a pretty good shake from the bookers most of the time.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 How many other wrestlers get teams named after them? I guess I could mention X-Factor here and ruin your point, but anyway....
ChrisMWaters Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 How many other wrestlers get teams named after them? I guess I could mention X-Factor here and ruin your point, but anyway.... They weren't named after a wrestler. THey were named after a finisher. Little different there.
Guest Anglesault Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 How many other wrestlers get teams named after them? Angle gets a pretty good shake from the bookers most of the time. Show me a 6 month time period where Angle is a consistant ME threat.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 Angle gets *pushed* a lot, but that doesn't mean he gets the *right* push.
Guest Metallica Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 Personally, I also thought that in addition to cutting it down, it could've used a much better song. That band sounded like almost every other Nu-Metal band...crappy guitar tones, and weak vocals. Coldplay = nu metal?

Show me a 6 month time period where Angle is a consistant ME threat. November 2002 onwards, granted theres an injury break after 5 months but he's going to come back with a big push after not very long off so it's arguable whether that qualifies or not Then theres August 2000 - February 2001
