Guest jester Report post Posted May 30, 2003 Commercials on local cable stations promoting a HHH vs Goldberg main event for WWE Bad Blood on June 15th have been airing for weeks, because those ads were submitted at at time when that was the planned main event. In addition to those commercials, the current issue of Raw magazine has a long story on who is going to win the match between Hunter and Goldberg, and a large ad on the back cover listing the match as well. credit: wrestlingobserver.com *** Goldberg/HHH holds no interest for me whatsoever (unless they let Goldie do a three minute squash of HHH, which is about as likely to happen as Jackie Gayda pinning Taker clean), but fans are bound to be pissed at this. Guest Mole Report post Posted May 30, 2003 Well if they watch Raw, then they would know that the match isn't happening. Besides, who orders a PPV for just ONE match? I sure as hell wouldn't, no match is worth $34.95.
Guest RenegadeX28 Report post Posted May 30, 2003 Man, if some fans still believe this match will happen come Bad Blood.....wow.......let the hate mail flow into the WWE site............

Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted May 30, 2003 Well if they watch Raw, then they would know that the match isn't happening. Some people don't watch Raw or get Raw at all. I'd laugh if there was a huge backlash of fans pissed at WWE over this. AND WHOSE FAULT IS IT? H...H...H.

Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted May 30, 2003 Like I said before.... the one TRUE Money match that is worth having that piece o crap with the WWE at all Is No longer really possible and thats Austin vs Goldberg and its even funny that they debut Goldberg's tv return the same night as Austin walked out because of being too injured to wrestle. Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted May 30, 2003 Trivia247. It IS possible. Austin is unofficially retired but probably has a match or two left in him. Of course, it would have to be against a skilled opponent he trusts who he knows could protect him. ... BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!
B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2003 Andrew, you're saying Goldberg isn't skilled and doesn't protect people? The NERVE of you
Guest jester Report post Posted May 30, 2003 Well if they watch Raw, then they would know that the match isn't happening. Besides, who orders a PPV for just ONE match? I sure as hell wouldn't, no match is worth $34.95. Well, if they're watching Raw in Canada, the last Raw had a promo for HHH/Nash, and then a promo for HHH/Goldberg RIGHT AFTER IT. So Raw isn't helping to clarify things. People do order a PPV for just one match. I've seen people on this board say things like "I'll buy it just for Benoit/Angle" (admittedly, there is a hell of a difference between Benoit/Angle and HHH/Nash and HHH/Goldberg). But that's beside the point. A major match is being incorrectly advertised. People don't like to buy one thing and get another.
Guest Bruiser Chong Report post Posted May 30, 2003 If this doesn't show their unconfidence in Nash/HHH II drawing as a main, then I don't know what does. This is what a small handful of people (Vince and his boys) want, but it's clear that even they're aware that this match won't draw which has left them resorting to WCW tactics and promoting a match that they know damn well isn't happening. Guest nikowwf Report post Posted May 30, 2003 They are not promoting a match that isn't happening on purpose. They buy add time and submit some ads in advance. They changed their mind, and these are residual ads. Yes, its counterproductive, but its not a grand conspiracy to rip people off. niko

The thing is, the plan was obviously changed because HHH (as Taker would say) just "wasn't feeling it."
Guest nikowwf Report post Posted May 30, 2003 Oh yeah, the reason for the change is total bullshit, i agree. The thing that pisses me off is they are wasting one of their most bankable gimmicks on a crap feud that people not only don't care about, but would prefer not happen at all. niko

I dunno - I think it makes more business sense to put the Cell gimmick on a match that needs it, rather one that will draw anyway. But I'd definitely rather not see it. Guest nikowwf Report post Posted May 30, 2003 I agree IF it would make this match draw. I don't think it will though.... niko
Guest OnlyMe Report post Posted May 30, 2003 It'll hook a couple more people, though. The first brand only PPV will then pop a higher buyrate than the last couple of months. In theory. But in the long term, it's a VERY bad idea.
