Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted May 31, 2003 Interesting little idea I devised. Answer as truthfully as possible. Think hard and long about it. It may sound easy, but think about what you're ending by killing. A person's life, something that can never be brought back. 1.) Could you ever kill a human being out of personal revenge? 2.) Could you ever kill a human being for money? 3.) Could you ever kill a human being for religous reasons? 4.) Could you kill a person because a siginificant other wanted you to? 5.) Could you pre-meditate the death of another person, planning it out to the last detail? 6.) Could you kill just to "get another person out of the way?" (Example: You study a particular text for 15 years and about to present a thesis on it that you know will change the world. A colleague tells you an interpretation that makes your work utterly worthless, and he's only told you. Could you kill him?) 7.) Could you die for your country? 8.) Could you die for another person? 9.) Could you die for your religon? 10.) Why or why not do think killing is wrong?
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted May 31, 2003 1.) Could you ever kill a human being out of personal revenge? Depends on what the revenge is about. If that person had killed someone in my family or someone that I love then yes. But not ever anything else really. 2.) Could you ever kill a human being for money? No, not me. 3.) Could you ever kill a human being for religous reasons? No, I am not too big of a religious person. 4.) Could you kill a person because a siginificant other wanted you to? No 5.) Could you pre-meditate the death of another person, planning it out to the last detail? 6.) Could you kill just to "get another person out of the way?" (Example: You study a particular text for 15 years and about to present a thesis on it that you know will change the world. A colleague tells you an interpretation that makes your work utterly worthless, and he's only told you. Could you kill him?) I dont know. I wouldnt kill for the example you gave me but maybe for some other reason. Thats kind of a tough one. 7.) Could you die for your country? It depends. If I think I have done everything in my life that I ever wanted then yes. But right now, no. There is still way to much for me to do. 8.) Could you die for another person? Yes. 9.) Could you die for your religon? No. 10.) Why or why not do think killing is wrong? Killing is just wrong. There should be a new stronger word for killing. Like badong. Sorry had to add that in. Taking someone else's life for stupid reason (which they ussually are) is just stupid. Something that you can never go back on and saying "I wish I had never done that" cant bring them back. Guest Heavy As Hell Report post Posted May 31, 2003 1. No. I always believed that revenge is karma-based. 2. No. 3. No. don't have a strong enough faith in anything to be a radical or zealot. 4. No. If they cared for you they wouldn't put you in that spot. 5. No. I would have to basically sign my life over to them for the price of whatever they did to me. And doing that is the stupidest thing you can do. 6. No. I would never put myself in a position to get trapped like that. 7. No. Funny thing is, I was always willing to fight for my country. Just never was willing to die for it. 8. who's the other person? 9. No. See #3 10. When I think of a good answer for this one I'll put it in here.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted May 31, 2003 6. No. I would never put myself in a position to get trapped like that - Heavy as Hell The odd thing is that scenario is probobly the one with the greatest chance of getting away scot free. No one else knows about it, so there's no real motive.
Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2003 No to every killing question, but I would die for another person. Maybe for my country, if I truly felt strong enough to believe in the cause, but even though I agreed with the War in Iraq, it doesn't mean that I'd volunteer to go and fight. I'd only fight if it were something where a very gross injustice was being suffered, for instance the Holocaust in World War II. But than, I'm not dying for my country as much as I am for the sake of humanity, so no to dying for my country. I can't think of ever feeling the need to die for your religion, specific example? As it stands, no. Killing is taking away human life, which is precious and if you think it's easy, just imagine being wiped away from existence. Now think of doing that to another person. You realise how hard it is, so to recap, I would never kill anyone unless it was for the greater good, ditto for dying.
Guest DawnBTVS Report post Posted May 31, 2003 1.) Could you ever kill a human being out of personal revenge? Depends on the reason for revenge. 2.) Could you ever kill a human being for money? Could you pre-meditate the death of another person, planning it out to the last detail? Probably, only if the other person was in on it. 6.) Could you kill just to "get another person out of the way?" (Example: You study a particular text for 15 years and about to present a thesis on it that you know will change the world. A colleague tells you an interpretation that makes your work utterly worthless, and he's only told you. Could you kill him?) No, though I'd try to knock him out before the day I presented my thesis 7.) Could you die for your country? No 8.) Could you die for another person? Depends on whom the person is 9.) Could you die for your religon? Not religious, so no. 10.) Why or why not do think killing is wrong? The act of killing itsself isn't necessarily "wrong" however usually the means behind the killings are stupid and wrong. In order to survive, one must kill whether it be people killing animals for food or animals killing other animals in order to live.

Guest SP-1 Report post Posted May 31, 2003 No to killing a person. When it comes to my faith, I would die if neccessary. Jesus himself said it's a great honor to lay down your life for a brother. I would not deny Christ to save my earthly life either. I wouldn't kill because I don't believe it's our place to do so.
Guest INXS Report post Posted May 31, 2003 1.) Could you ever kill a human being out of personal revenge? You're a dumbass if you kill someone just because your girlfriend cheated on you or because of something even more stupid like road rage or because your kid got his/her ass kicked in their sport. But, you murder my mother and I'll cut your throat if I get the chance. 2.) Could you ever kill a human being for money? No 3.) Could you ever kill a human being for religous reasons? No 4.) (Example: You study a particular text for 15 years and about to present a thesis on it that you know will change the world. Could you die for another person? Yeah. Depends on the person. 9.) Could you die for your religon? Nope. 10.) Why or why not do think killing is wrong? I'm against killing because one, death is permanent and because no matter how bad a person is or how much he or she may deserve it, innocent people are likely to suffer as a result of the death. Death affects more than just the deceased, since friends and loved ones are pained by the loss. By killing someone, you're [probably] inflicting undeserved pain on these loved ones. I won't sit here and say I'd never kill though, because you never know what you'll do in the heat of the moment.
Guest Sandman9000 Report post Posted May 31, 2003 1.) Could you ever kill a human being out of personal revenge? Depends on what has besmirched me. Cut me off in traffic, the bird will do just fine. Kill my child and burn my house down, and I do believe that I would have no problem killing them. 2.) Could you ever kill a human being for money? For only an extraordinary sum of money, and we're talking 9 digits, without the decimal. 3.) Could you ever kill a human being for religous reasons? Seeing how I'm not a religious person, no. 4.) Could you kill a person because a siginificant other wanted you to? Well, I'd want to know why. I think it would have to be a similar situation to number 1, if someone raped my girlfriend or wife, I'd consider killing them. 5.) Could you pre-meditate the death of another person, planning it out to the last detail? No. I'm not big on planning, that's all. 6.) Could you kill just to "get another person out of the way?" (Example: You study a particular text for 15 years and about to present a thesis on it that you know will change the world. A colleague tells you an interpretation that makes your work utterly worthless, and he's only told you. Could you kill him?) I doubt it. If I'm going to be the best at something, it's going to be because of my own talents, not because I eliminate someone who might hinder me from my goal. Drugging him and locking him in a closet; that I'm not above. 7.) Could you die for your country? No. I'm not a solider. I die for my own beliefs, not anyone elses. 8.) Could you die for another person? Absolutely. I'll know it's time to marry someone when I'm willing to sacrifice my own life to help or save theirs. 9.) Could you die for your religon? Again, I'm not religious, so no. 10.) Why or why not do think killing is wrong? It all depends on the context. Minor inconviences do not warrant ending someone else's life. However, I do know that I have the capabilities to murder someone, and if absolutely necessary, I am willing to do so.

If their religion was based on the sole purpose of killing me then it becomes him or me and I will kill him. 4.) Could you kill a person because a siginificant other wanted you to? No. 5.) Guest T®ITEC Report post Posted May 31, 2003 Yes, INXS. Yes he did. 1.) Could you ever kill a human being out of personal revenge? No. Why even bother? Unless they slaughtered my family or something. Then it'd turn into a clichéd movie plot. 2.) Could you ever kill a human being for money? Probably not. Well. Maybe I could. Depends on the amount of money and the reason for killing that person. I can be bought. 3.) Could you ever kill a human being for religous reasons? Not a chance. 4.) Could you kill a person because a siginificant other wanted you to? No person could ever mean enough to me to kill for them. (For free.) 5.) Could you pre-meditate the death of another person, planning it out to the last detail? No; I have a terrible memory for details and I know that I would get caught. Yet if I wouldn't... 6.) Could you kill just to "get another person out of the way?" (Example: You study a particular text for 15 years and about to present a thesis on it that you know will change the world. My own life means a whole lot less to mean than the lives of those that I care about. Even then, though... Whatever. 9.) Could you die for your religon? Again, no. 10.) Why or why not do think killing is wrong? People kill each other for stupid reasons. Maybe the wrong people are getting killed. ...Okay, what the hell. That makes me sound like I support some kind of twisted "vigilante justice". I do agree with our fine Rev. Rant, though. Self-defense is fine. I'll just say that it isn't wrong when you get really deep down into it. I'm very ignorant. I don't know.

Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Report post Posted June 1, 2003 1.) Could you ever kill a human being out of personal revenge? Yeah. 2.) Could you ever kill a human being for money? Probably, if the price was right. If I had to, I could justify this by saying that I could use the money to save more lives than the one I took. The worse the person I have to kill is, the less money would be required. 3.) Could you ever kill a human being for religous reasons? Not really religious, so no. 4.) Could you kill a person because a siginificant other wanted you to? Not just on a whim, but if they had a good reason, yeah. 5.) Could you pre-meditate the death of another person, planning it out to the last detail? Yes. 6.) Could you kill just to "get another person out of the way?" Depends on the situation. Probably in the right circumstances. 7.) Could you die for your country? Theoretically yes, but I couldn't see it happening. 8.) Could you die for another person? Yeah. 9.) Could you die for your religon? No. 10.) Why or why not do think killing is wrong? I can say some people deserve to die. Where the line is drawn I couldn't say. Good topic... I think about this stuff all the time, always trying to come up with the hardest scenarios possible. Like if you had to choose between the death of the person you love most or a thousand people you'll never see or know. Or if you have two kids and have to choose between killing one of them yourself or they both die. Morbid, but perplexing.
Guest ShooterJay Report post Posted June 1, 2003 1.) Could you ever kill a human being out of personal revenge? -Yes. It would have to be something really fucking major, like killing and raping a close family member or best friend, but yes. In cold blood, no remorse. 2.) Could you ever kill a human being for money? -Nope, money is material and shallow, and useless in the long run before healthy and happiness. Additionally, if I don't have a problem with a person, I can't even bring myself to wish ill on them, let alone harm or kill them. 3.) Could you ever kill a human being for religous reasons? -No. I'm a devout Jew, but more because of identity reasons and a belief in the G-d that is presented in that faith. Organized religion, and killing for it, is hypocritical and a sham. 4.) Could you kill a person because a siginificant other wanted you to? -No. I've never experienced true love, but I doubt there's any amount of love for someone who isn't my blood that would make me kill on their orders. 5.) Could you pre-meditate the death of another person, planning it out to the last detail? -No. Basically because I'm not smart enough. 6.) Could you kill just to "get another person out of the way?" (Example: You study a particular text for 15 years and about to present a thesis on it that you know will change the world. A colleague tells you an interpretation that makes your work utterly worthless, and he's only told you. Could you kill him?) -Nope, doing that- especially that example- is moronic. You deserve going to jail or whatever hell there is for killing someone over something as petty as that. 7.) Could you die for your country? -If faced with a threat like the Nazis, yes. Anything that's not an immediate threat to the country or the world, no. 8.) Could you die for another person? -Only my brother. My parents probably wouldn't want me to die for them, because I'm young and have more to live for, I just know that's what they think. Again, I've never known true love for a woman, so the question of a wife is up in the air. 9.) Could you die for your religon? -Nope. See above. 10.) Why or why not do think killing is wrong? -Old Israeli proverb: If you murder a person, you murder a world. By killing someone you murder an infinite number of generations that person could have spawned, people who could have made valuable contributions to society that would have saved other lives, and the ripple effect continues on. Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted June 1, 2003 1.) Could you ever kill a human being out of personal revenge? No 2.) Could you ever kill a human being for money? No 3.) Could you ever kill a human being for religous reasons? No 4.) Could you kill a person because a siginificant other wanted you to? No 5.) Could you pre-meditate the death of another person, planning it out to the last detail? No 6.) Could you kill just to "get another person out of the way?" (Example: You study a particular text for 15 years and about to present a thesis on it that you know will change the world. A colleague tells you an interpretation that makes your work utterly worthless, and he's only told you. Could you kill him?) NO 7.) Could you die for your country? Yes 8.) Could you die for another person? Yes 9.) Could you die for your religon? Yes. 10.) Why or why not do think killing is wrong? Seriously a difficult question. I could kill someone in war, but I would never murder anyone.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted June 1, 2003 I could probably choke someone to death out of revenge for something serious, and in self defense, but that's it.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted June 1, 2003 Some of you don't seem to "get" question 6. It means could you kill someone if the death was for the sole purpose of removing that person. Perhaps if he was blackmailing you, or if he was going to testify against you or something. The example I gave was just the first thing that popped into my head. Guest cynicalprofit Report post Posted June 7, 2003 Interesting little idea I devised. Answer as truthfully as possible. Think hard and long about it. It may sound easy, but think about what you're ending by killing. A person's life, something that can never be brought back. 1.) Could you ever kill a human being out of personal revenge? 2.) Could you die for another person? 9.) Could you die for your religon? 10.) Why or why not do think killing is wrong? 1. Sure, already did...but you didnt hear that from me. 2.Depends on how much and is it me killing them for money, or me killing them because someone paid me to kill them. The second Ive offered before, but no ones taken me up on it. 3. Nope because I dont believe in religions. 4. NO NO NO A MILLION BILLION TIMES NO. So many men are in jail BECAUSE of that, I swore I would never do it. 5.Have planned a few out, never got to actually do it though. 6.No because that type of killing NEVER works. 7. AHAHAHA no, because I am only american because I was born here, I did not have a choice in the matter, same thing if your french or english, so dying for country is a stupid reason to die. 8.I have already promised my life to 2 people if it ever need be. 9.Nope because I dont have a real religion. 10.Killing is fine, so long as no one gets hurt. Im not for guns, but if you go out of your way to kill someone, well be prepared to face the consequences of your actions. Its really about circumstance, killing over women shouldnt happen, neither should anything involving emotion, you shouldnt let your self get that far out of control. For war, nope, because there is no reason for war other then politicians looking for exceptance. In self defence is fine, and no war is NOT self or country defence. Killing mass murders is fine as well, same with rapist and child molestors. And while Im at it, anyone who lowers the standards for the rest of society, case in point, britney spears and everyone involved in her "push" into the music world, despite her only abilities being she can sing, sorta(she would could not have won american idol), and two, she looks pretty. So she can die.
