Guest DVD Spree Report post Posted June 2, 2003 Hey homies. I've got a couple of eBay auctions about to go online, and I've got the Alien 3 workprint up for grabs. As seems to be the trend around here, I thought I'd let you guys have a pop first, if anyone's interested. I know most people here are NTSC folk, but I've only got one NTSC copy so if you're interested, it really will be the highest bidder. Anyone who wants a PAL copy, shoot me an email: [email protected] I'm guessing most people are familiar with the Alien 3 cut stuff on the tape, but if anyone wants more info I'll post something here. Cheers.
PsychoDriver 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2003 Is this the same version that will be on the box set this fall?
Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted June 3, 2003 Damn, I'll just pray the cut stuff winds up in Fox's "We Made a Word Up" Boxed Set. How'd you get this, Spree? Convention? eBay? Modest sexual favor to David Fincher?

Guest DVD Spree Report post Posted June 3, 2003 Welcome back, Jay. Yay! I've been missed! Cheers bro. Alas, nobody knows what will or won't be on the Alien Quadrilogy (again, it's a TETRALOGY) set, particularly when it comes to Alien 3. With Fox pissing all over first-time FIncher, he swore on Earl Hebner's kids never to have anything to do with the film again. So, whether or not they put (t)his cut of the film on the disc or not, they're not saying. Of course... (SHILL ALERT) you can ensure that you don't miss a minute of that Alien 3 deleted scene action by picking up your very own copy of the Alien 3 workprint!!! Find out what happened to all those inmates who disappeared without trace or explanation! Find out of Bishop really is an android! See what the film is like without the nonsense two facehugger conspiracy! See Fox cut out a huge action scene that makes the middle of the film really exciting! All this and MORE! Just email your friendly neighbourhood Jay Spree - [email protected] - for details! (SHILL OVER) If anyone cares, I'm back on active DVD duty tomorrow, so get ready to see my shit clogging up the front page again.
Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2003 Cool... I had meant to aks now that you're clear of scholastic duties, whether or not you were going to resume DVD reviews... How did that stretch go, by the way?
Guest DVD Spree Report post Posted June 3, 2003 Yup, back to bidness as usual for me. Although I was contemplating writing a review of Animal Crossing first - mainly for Dames, who I know was asking about the game. Scholarly duties... yeah, they went okay. I think. I had one exam on Media & Culture in Wales, which almost caused a mass walkout of final year students, as they decided to make it compulsory for everybody and really fucked up a lot of people's degrees. Seriously, there's dudes who were on target for a first and a life of luxury, but now the highest they can get is a 2:1 and they're mad pissed. Coursework-wise, everything got finished on time. One of my tutors actually called me at home today and asked me what grade I got for my first term essay. "I, um, lost it." "Oh, don't worry John, it was a... B... 2." "Ah, yes, B2, yep, that sounds right. Oh, by the way, you got a B2 for your second essay too." So that module's okay. My two creative writing modules... YE GODS. I really don't know what the hell's gonna happen with those. Bear in mind that my tutor is the guy who told me that I'd copied Lord of The Rings' structure, which was stupid, because "Lord of The Rings doesn't have a very good structure." So flip a coin, I guess. BUt the important thing is, I'm back at TSM, shilling and reviewing and keeping it real. Cool of you to ask me what's up!
Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2003 No problem, I saw you say that you were stressing big time, which is why you let go of the reviewing reins for a while. Just good to have you back.
Guest DVD Spree Report post Posted June 3, 2003 Thanks a lot man. I was seriously considering still doing news and reviews during the madness, but I figured it might be kind of iresponsible to dick my coursework in favour of writing 6,000 word diatribes full of swearing. Well actually, some of my stories have swearing in them too - I actually managed to work "c*nt" into one of them. It was thoroughly justified, of course.
