Guest HBK16 Report post Posted June 4, 2003 Got a few questions about the show. Which was the first episode and when did it air? Which was the last episode and when did it air? Which episodes were banned from the Disney Channel? AND... How many seasons did they have? Thanks to anyone that can help.
Guest Mole Report post Posted June 4, 2003 Which was the first episode and when did it air?The title was "Boy Meets World" and was about when Eric brings a girl to a baseball game, instead of Cory and he gets jealous. He gets detention for listenting to the game in Feeney's class. It aired September 24 1993 Which was the last episode and when did it air?"Brave New World Pt 2" which was about Cory deciding whether or not to go to NY with Topanga for an intership. A few flashbacks occur of past memories, and it turns out Jack, Shawn and Eric all of big moving plans of their own. It was aired May 5 2000. Which episodes were banned from the Disney Channel? Don't know How many seasons did they have? 7 seasons with 158 episodes.

Guest Downhome Report post Posted June 4, 2003 Just ignore me, it's simply that when I hear Boy Meets World mentioned, I must express my undying love for Miss Danielle Fishel... ...oh yes, one of my favorite women ever...oh yes indeed. I love the show also by the way, I wish I could get a DVD box set of it someday!

Guest TheMadmanGreg Report post Posted June 4, 2003 Why did Disney ban episodes?
The Dames 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2003 Wow, this show was a favorite of mine during its early run. Once they got to college, it "jumped the shark" so to speak. Oh, and when that tall girl Rachel joined the show. But everything else was gold to me. I'm a silly emotional bastard and even I've got to admit that some of the episodes get to me....including the one where Topanga moves away. Dames
Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted June 4, 2003 I think I saw on this very board where Disney banned a honeymoon episode where Topanga walks around in lingerie for half an hour. Which is why I don't watch the show on Disney.
Guest Mole Report post Posted June 4, 2003 Well you can't blame Disney, they do aim the channel at young kids. Granted, lingerie is just like a bathing suit, but some parents would of been in an up roar and Lieberman would been saying "Ban the Disney Channel!!" Ha
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted June 4, 2003 Boy Meets World's first season was terrific. It all went downhill from there
Guest Mole Report post Posted June 4, 2003 I liked the first 4 seasons, but like Dames said, when they went to college it sucked.
Guest TheMadmanGreg Report post Posted June 4, 2003 Now, yes the show's quality was generally worse after they went to college, but they still had some funny and solid episodes. In particular, the Truman Show parody with Eric and the episode when Chet Hunter dies.
Guest Bruiser Chong Report post Posted June 4, 2003 Boy Meets World's first season was terrific. It all went downhill from there I disagree. When looking back at that season, you see a show that had potential and you could already tell that it was something special. It laid the ground for the classic seasons to come, but it wasn't the show's peak. I believe the show got increasingly better until the 1996-97 season. The show began its downward spiral during the 1997-98 season during which they became seniors, Eric headed off to college, and we were introduced to Jack. The show then became too dramatic for my liking and they didn't even do that well. When the focus totally shifted to the romantic lives of everyone, the show just fell flat on its face. In the past, season 2 was my favorite, but looking back on them, the episodes from seasons 3 and 4 seem the best. As for the banned episodes, I believe there were three or four, one of which was the aforementioned honeymoon episode, although I could swear I saw that one on the other day. Another one that was banned was the prom episode because of the whole sexual premise of it. I can't recall the other ones, but I know that another one heavily focused on sex. It's understandable as to why they're not being shown on Disney; my main gripe about them is the episodes being clipped to make more room for commercials. Guest HBK16 Report post Posted June 4, 2003 I agree with most of you that when they got to college it did start to suck but like TheMadmanGreg said, the Chet dies episode dies was really good.
Guest Bruiser Chong Report post Posted June 4, 2003 I agree with most of you that when they got to college it did start to suck but like TheMadmanGreg said, the Chet dies episode dies was really good. I thought it wasn't needed. I know that life is full of heartbreaks like that, but this was basically a show targeted at younger kids, so all of this drama that they incorportated into the final seasons of the show just felt like a desperation move to cover up the fact that they had run out of good ideas. Yeah, in the real world things don't always work out for the best, but after a while, the show itself stopped being that realistic, so why keep stuff like death in the picture? It just felt like any other time a comedy has a death in an episode--a cheap attempt to tug at the heartstrings.
Guest Brush with Greatness Report post Posted June 5, 2003 Actually, I saw the prom episode on Disney funnily enough. And agreed, the show went downhill once the hit the college years. Eric worked as comic relief, not as a main character. And they didn't need to add that Lawrence guy (the one from Blossom's brother). It was best with Turner. The episode with the cult and Turner in the motorcycle accident was pretty intense. Also, what was the story with Cory and Eric's little sister? Did they write her out of the show or what happened there?
Guest wwF1587 Report post Posted June 5, 2003 I liked the first 4 seasons, but like Dames said, when they went to college it sucked. i didnt mind some of the college eps, but i hae to agree that it really brought the show down in terms of quality
Guest HellSpawn Report post Posted June 5, 2003 His little sister was funny.
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted June 5, 2003 In the college episodes I liked Eric the best. He was the one that made me laugh the most. And I forgot about the Turner bike accident episode. That almost had me in tears.
Guest EdwardKnoxII Report post Posted June 5, 2003 Also, what was the story with Cory and Eric's little sister? Did they write her out of the show or what happened there? That was Morgan. I don't remember the season but, for quite sometime they had written her out of the show (i.e. they never talked about her, show her, and for it time it seemed as if she was never there in the first place and the Cory and Eric were the only kids.) And then one day she was brought back played by another girl and they even joked about it on the show. On the esp. when she came back she came down from her room and Cory and the mom something like "Hey there Morgan were have you been we haven't seen you in awhile. You've grown." And then Morgan say something like "I've been in my room for a LONG time."
Guest Bruiser Chong Report post Posted June 5, 2003 She was written out of the show during season 3 and didn't make a return until season 4 (albeit, played by a different person).
Guest packwingfn Report post Posted June 5, 2003 Ya i remember in like season 2 or 3, There was no sign of Morgan than she finally came back and one episode, they kept on ratting on shes been in her room for a real long time?
Guest Ravenbomb Report post Posted June 5, 2003 when did Eric make the transition from regular older brothery guy to total crazy guy?
Guest Zero_Cool Report post Posted June 5, 2003 I think that Eric was always crazy, it was just that when Corey got to high school, Eric was showcased more...and so therefore he was crazy. So I guess when Corey and Shawn got into high school. I used to watch that show religiously, but when I got to high school, I just stopped caring. Things got too out of hand and over dramatic. BTW, what was with the cheers going up in the early seasons when Corey would say "Beavis & Butthead"? Were they really that popular at the time as to have an ABC audience go crazy over the mere mentioning of the show?
