Guest treble charged Report post Posted June 6, 2003 The first season was good, as Minkus (Mingus?) was a good character. I never understood why in season 1, Cory didn't like Topanga much, but after that they kind of acted like they had always been in love, or something. Stuff like that always bugs me. Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted June 7, 2003 I thought the show was cute for what it was, but I couldn't help but think it was a poor man's Wonder Years. I know it wasn't trying to be Wonder Years, but I couldn't get Kevin and Winnie out of my head.

Yeah, they did have a lot of revisionist history in the show, but they did make references to their several years of dislike for each other here and there. It's just that their "we've always been in love" schtick overshadowed it since it was used way more often. And yes, Fred and Ben Savage are indeed brothers. There's a resemblence too, if you look at 'em. I thought it was kinda cute that both appeared in the other's respective show one time, although Fred's appearance on BMW came when both were in their 20's, so I guess "cute" isn't really the right word. Ben appearing as "Cupid" in the Valentine's Day episode of the Wonder Years always cracks me up, though.
EL DANDY~! 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2003 Fred played that teacher who was REALLY interested in Topanga...that was kinda weird, I think. Whole episode was just...weird...
Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 7, 2003 Yep...They did the Sexual Harrassment Angle there... Besides the Vader Episode for Guilty Pleasure...My Favorite episode was the one where again for Guilty Pleasure they all got locked in School overnight with JLH (Eric's Real Life GF at the time) as a Cross promotion for I Know What...It was pretty cheesy but fun...It was just on the other day... None of the shows save for the Wrestling related ones and the SERIOUS issues show really stood out...
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted June 7, 2003 Topanga was originally the weird girl in the class. Was that just a phase or did that not happen.
Guest Phoenix Fury Legdrop Report post Posted June 7, 2003 They acknoledged it during the episode after the new little brother was born, where he was too small to live on his own without a machine hooked up to him. Cory wanted "the old Topanga" back to help him cope with the possibility of his brother dying, and did a weird, interpretive dance in the hospital, using lipstick as facepaint, like in one of the episodes in the first season. *********** It's weird, because, almost JUST like with wrestling, the show was at its best during "the chase", which is basically everything up to the wedding. The show, in my opinion, should have ended with the closing visual of Cory and Topanga kissing after they said their "I Do's", because that was the big payoff.
