They had like ten weeks to plan Angle's return, and you can see that they used almost 20 WHOLE MINUTES Tuesday before the show to figure out what they'd do! Idiot asshole comedy, Being made to look totally inferior to Brock and Big Show, and used as a fucking tool to build a LESNAR BIG SHOW MATCH. WHAT A RETURN!! I hate this company. I know because I was at that Smackdown it was at...it was the same one Team Angle won the WWE Tag Team Titles at...on February 4, 2003. Guest Y2DAYDAY Report post Posted June 6, 2003 It is quite simple: Tonight was about getting Kurt Angle over as a babyface. They'll go back to serious Kurt once he is put into a singles program. Tonight was simple a segment to tell the WWE fans to cheer this guy now, nothing more or nothing less, hence having Kurt do a little comedy doesn't hurt. However, once the Lesnar and Cena programs start, if they revolve around a serious issue and he is still doing comedy, then there is a problem. Then again, Rock was comedy and was a big draw. He was the perfect mix of comedy and serious as a babyface. And if any one guy besides the Rock can pull that character off, it is Kurt Angle. And when Lesnar vs Angle happens again, Lesnar better win. Lesnar is young. Angle has a bad neck(and 10 year older than Lesnar). Do the math. Although they will have a rematch this summer, the money is in the Wrestlemania 20 match. They need to have Lesnar win in July, then have Angle win at Mania. Though I didn't get to see Smackdown tonight, as it was post-ponned due to Hockey for me, I believe that maybe the surgery on Angle's neck affected his vocal chords somehow, causing the deeping in his voice. Guest Nanks Report post Posted June 6, 2003 Whilst I admit it would've been best for Kurt, and gotten him a huge pop, if he'd shoved Show backwards, dropkicked him then slapped on the ankle lock before bringing Brock out for the mutual respect angle, it's not like he's been totally killed by this segment. Mind you, if he continues to be intimidated by Big Show and rescued, then that's truly fucked.
