Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted March 27, 2002 Plain and simple. I mtired of people puttin down the Hulkster. People say he held alot of people down. So what? Look in the record books under Ric Flair & shawn Michaels. Did Hogan keep Steamer down? MAYBE. But come on, he had no mic skills. ATLEAST Hogan can sound interesting. Bam Bam bigelow? Who the hell wants a short fat ass being world champion when he had no heat by January 1988. Sting? 7 time WCW Champion or whever? I rest my case. hogan did bring in his friends.....friends that drew money in WWF. dont tell me you didnt cheer for Duggan, or Beefcake. Ric flair was the ULTIMATe in holding people down. come on, he was champion more time sin NWA just about then Jerry Lawler was USWA champ. He just passes it on to someone for 1 month, and took it back the next 10 or 11. Because of Ole Anderson Sting went down, thw whole Black scorpion angle. The spin the Wheel make the Deal. Onto Savage. 2x WWF champ and 3-4x WCW champ. Hogan was at WM4 main event cause it was the even out andre being their, and to build the megapowers/megabucks fued. Im too tired to rant on this.So if anyone has feed back, add to this. "hollywood" Scorpion Hulkamania 4-4-4-4 Life!
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted March 27, 2002 You have got to be kidding right? First off at least Flair jobbed and made his opponents look credible. Hogan would Hulk up at the end of the match, no sell everything, and put his opponent away with a frickin leg drop! And HBK was the king of making opponents look good. Sure they held people down but they were the best while they were doing it. Hogan? No he was(still is) an awful worker and he made his opponents look like fools. Second of all Hogan's friends? Those jackasses never drew a dime in WCW. They were still awful even with the likes of Duggan and Beefcake. And besides they lost Austin for Duggan. Wow....if only they could have known how Austin was going to turn out and what a has been Duggan really was. Look Hogan is a legend. I'll give you that. However that does not mean he doesn't deserved to be critisized. The man pulled so much sh*t through his career and was such a horrible wrestler while at it. If anyone deserves to get sh*t it's Hogan.
Guest AM The Kid Report post Posted March 27, 2002 Half the wrestlers from today and the past have held people down; thats the buisness. Get over it, it happens. HULKAMANIA WILL LIVE FOREVER!!!
Guest Report post Posted March 27, 2002 It's always funny to see Hogan marks come up with some weak-ass, unsupported and/or shamlessly flawed arguments.

Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted March 27, 2002 Watched since 1988. I was actually a bigger a Beefcake and Savage fan than a Hogan fan. Then I slowly garnered an appreciation for the actual wrestling around 1992, when I started watching full time.
Guest Report post Posted March 27, 2002 Quesiton: How long have you jackass hogan haters been wrestling fans? 2-3 years? Nine years, genius. I started watching the WWF with interest in mid-1993 when Hogan would rather tape episodes of Thunder in Paradise than defend his company's #1 title. I'd like to see you defend that. Guest CanadianChris Report post Posted March 27, 2002 So because Steamboat had no mic skills (debatable), he doesn't deserve to be in Hogan's league? Hogan was scared that Steamboat was getting over on his wrestling -- imagine that! -- so he held him down. As for the Friends of Hogan, I didn't care about any of them. What was it about them that was so enthralling? Was I supposed to cheer for Jim Duggan's ridiculous squash of Steve Austin? Was I supposed to stand in awe of the non-talent that was Ed Leslie as he stunk up Starrcade 1994? John Tenta, Virgil, Honky Tonk Man -- you could keep them all, because by the time they left the WWF, I really didn't care if I saw any of them again, much less all of them in the same place. And incidentally, I've been watching wrestling since 1986, before Wrestlemania 2. I was a pretty big Hogan mark...until about 1990. Then I got tired of him. 12 years later, he's still here. Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted March 27, 2002 There are two types of wrestling fans... Those who love Hogan and those who hate him. There is no grey in the matter, no 'i kinda like him', no 'i sort of hate him'. Its either you are passionately for him, or passionately against him. Neither side can convince each other that they are right. And neither side should try.
Guest godthedog Report post Posted March 27, 2002 but, wait...whatever side i happen to be on is right. so i have to try to convince the others, cause i'm really helping them see the error of their ways. right?
Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted March 27, 2002 I gotta agree with that logic. I grew up a Hogan fan and i dont change sides. Steamboat wa spushed down by VINNIE MAC cause Steamer wanted time off during his title reign. 1991 run wasnt good because it was a like a cartoon. Hogan can work the crowd, you cant deny that. And also genius, Hogan had a contract to make that show long ebfore he returned to WWF.

Guest alfdogg Report post Posted March 27, 2002 "but, wait...whatever side i happen to be on is right." classic. Anyway, this is the way i sit...Hogan entertains me. He may be one of the worst wrestlers/workers in the business, but he tried pretty hard at WM considering that he was injured during his match with Rikishi. I don't agree with him burying Steamboat just because he was upstaged at WM, or hogging the spotlight during Savage's reign, or for never allowing DiBiase to be elevated to the belt. I liked Bam Bam, but I didn't particularly want to see him as champion, either. I like Hogan, but I'm not gonna bitch about it if others don't, like this guy is. It's just bitching for the sake of bitching.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted March 27, 2002 i've been watching almost 17 years. plus i've seen all the major stuff from the last twenty-tewenty-five years. so steamboat had no mic skills? mic skills weren't anywhere near as important back than as they are now. I hate hogan caused he fucked up the nWo-sting feud. he should've jobbed cleanly to sting and i doubt that there's many who would disagree with me (at least anyone over the age of 12)
Guest TheHulkster Report post Posted March 27, 2002 Like him or not, Hogan and Vinnie Mac changed wrestling. Without Hulk Hogan, Eric Bischoff would be selling meat out of the back of a truck in Minneapolis. Without Hulk Hogan, all these Johnny Comelatelys would be flipping burgers. He made the WWF rich. He did everythin for the charities, everything for the kids, and the reception he gets in here, you fans can stick it, brother. All that and all the money he made for the WWF, bringing wrestling to the mainstream, All his contributions to make a wish, the fact that the wwf would probably not exist today so your chris jerichos and your chris benoits can be seen by you every week means nothing to smarks because he allegedly "held down ricky steamboat" or some other internet rumor. The people in Japan honor their legends, they don't try and tear them down, so why can't we? Are we that cynical, that we have to tear down everyone that busted their ass night in and night out so we can watch the best damn show on earth?

Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 27, 2002 Do the Japanese know that Hogan made wrestling? First of all...I could have sworn that it was around before Hogan... Second of all...I could swear that they have wrestling in places that Hogan has never heard of. Third of all...Hulkamania is the only thing worse than Nazi propoganda...just as potent...but still around in more force.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted March 27, 2002 so what if hogan did stuff for charity? that has nothing to do whatsoever with hogan the wrestler (and i use the term "wrestler" loosely) and fuck most celberties donate to charity it's great PR and how are we supposed to know who generally cares and who doesn't? oh and hogan busted his ass? when did he do that? he only wrestled like once a month or whenever he wanted to hype his new movie. Japan honor their legends, but our societys are different you can't really compare North american and japanese societys because they are so fundementally different. Guest TheHulkster Report post Posted March 27, 2002 Where did i say Hogan made wrestling? He certainly made it what it is today. Without Hogan, Vince taking the WWF mainstream would not have done well, they didn't have a monster babyface that the crowd liked nearly as much as Hogan and they didn't have the funds to run a national wrestling promotion for an extended period of time before Hogan came along. He made the WWF, those who don't see that are blinded by their own cynicism.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 27, 2002 And since wrestling today is filled with backstabbing politicians who make the product llok bad just so they can be on top... I for one say: THANK YOU HOGAN!
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted March 27, 2002 of course they didn't have a monster babyface... hogan wouldn't allow anyone to get anywhere near his popularity. the wwf would still be around without hogan but GASP then who would the ignorant fan boys have to worship????? Guest Tony149 Report post Posted March 27, 2002 I've been a wrestling fan for 14 years. I grew up watching the WWF. I was never a Hulk Hogan fan. Liked the Warrior & Savage more. I respect what he did for wrestling, but wrestling would still be around if Hogan was never in it. Hell, I think Flair was Vince's second choice to be in the WWF had he not gotten Hogan. Although he really wanted both in the '80s. Flair was loyal to the NWA/WCW. Vince nearly got Flair in '88 due to Flair having problems with head booker Dusty Rhodes, but it would be until 1991 until Vince got him. Flair wasn't going to be involved in the Black Scorpion angle. WCW fucked themselves on that angle because they didn't have a guy to play the Scorpion. So like they did many times...they went to Flair to save their ass. Flair agreed to play Black Scorpion. As for Steamboat. Like cobainwasmurdered said, back in the '80s, wrestling was a bigger thing than talking. Steamboat was over too. He wanted time off to spend time with his new born son.
