LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2003 It took people telling you to f*ck off for you to contribute anything to this thread. You could have said all that in your first post. I don't mind you giving opinions on the storyline, but it's not your place to bash his dad or him getting close to his dad.
Guest razoredge450 Report post Posted June 10, 2003 >on the show I watched Foley looked to be roughly twice as fast as HHH and, when he was lying prone on the canvas, he looked three times quicker than Nash. Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me. Foley was out of shape and slow, but Nash is definitely slower, HHH isn't any slower than Foley, but he isn't much faster, that's for sure. Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 10, 2003 I'd still like to know what a guy who "doesn't watch wrestling" was doing watching wrestling. Just a hole in the story that I'd like filled in so I could help feel all these warm emotions you all are feeling... I'm so cold... brrr...
Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 10, 2003 One Man's Opinion doesn't make it lower just because YOU don't agree with it. My Father doesn't have high standards? Maybe he doesn't but that doesn't exclude him from maybe taking in something meant to entertain... Maybe it's because he's gone through things like Mick Foley has and has an connection and understanding of what's it like to never beat one man in a certain atheletic environment... He knows what it's like to have to break away from something he loves because he can't perform anymore... Maybe, Just Maybe Mr. Fuckwad...He just was entertained. If that offends you then...Well I really don't care...I didn't ask why he felt it was compelling enough to make him call his son right away and invite to watch the show...I just wanted to pass along that Mick Foley did more good in that 20 minutes of Air Time then any one else ever could... At least in the eyes of one person...
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2003 He may have been flipping through the channels and saw Foley. Or maybe it was one of those times he decided to give it another try.
Adam 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2003 All I saw then was Nash=slowest, Mick=slow, HHH=slower, not faster
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2003 Foley did look in better shape than last time he was on WWF TV. If needed he's proven in the past that he's good at dropping weight and getting into shape. Guess that's what happens when you're married to a model.
Guest Razor Roman Report post Posted June 10, 2003 I didn't have very high expectations for the return of my favorite former wrestler either, basically because of the way the WWE has botched every other return out there. I guess Vince is a big enough Foley fan to tell him "you're going to ref, now go out there and make fans want to see it" His promo about only having to count "1-2-3" was pure Foley. He's the only guy out there that can look so great getting beaten up, and can lose with dignity. Mick isn't one of those retired guys that is going to try to get over on HHH or anyone else. He's retired. Pretty much any active wrestler should be able to "beat" him, and Mick would respect that - he knows that he goes home next Monday, and everybody else has to stay there and keep working. I also have pretty high expectations for Foley as a special ref. (recall the chapter in Foley is Good about Jesse Ventura as guest ref. at SummerSlam 99). I just can't believe that they have dilluted Hell in a Cell so much now that they need to bring in a special ref. to sell the match. But I was happy to see Foley again. I was expecting (and disappointed when I didn't get) a cheap pop from him for how great it was to be .... right here... in MIAMI!
Guest croweater Report post Posted June 10, 2003 Foley was out of shape and slow ...ummmmmm I never recall Foley being "in shape" and ultra quick....... Foley was Foley.... entertaining... good selling..... insane. I don't know what your problem is. "who cares?" is also the most profound rebutal that I have ever heard...... especially seeing as the original post was an inofensive light hearted story which didn't require any criticism or clarification at all. Guest Mole Report post Posted June 10, 2003 That is good Choken, I wish my dad would ask me to watch wrestling with him. Kudos to you and your Father.
Guest Memphis Report post Posted June 10, 2003 That was a really good story Choken. Razor, fuck up, no one cares about you. Call me when you get over 100 posts, that is if Dames doesnt ban you first. Right. So because he has a low post count he is instantly disregarded as trash that has an opinion not worth considering or listening to? Don't be a fucking moron. What he said had no place here, but don't use his POST COUNT as an excuse to critique his significance. Good to see RAW is giving you at least ONE positive, Choke. My father thinks I'm an idiot for watching the WWE and has made a habit of walking into the room and lashing out at whomever is in the ring. However, this usually occurs during RAW and whatever nasty comments my father has about the individuals 'wrestling' in the ring, I usually tend to agree with. Never the less, hope the experience is made better because of your father. M
Murmuring Beast 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2003 Well, my dad watches for the hosses, but you folks know that already. He enjoyed the handicap match at 'Mania between A-Train, Show and Taker and as a result, I did too. Watching with people is sometimes a great laugh.

NYU 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2003 Sorry, but I laughed out loud when he said "Who Cares." Sure, it's nice that wrestling has brought you and your dad closer, but I can't understand why you made a whole topic dedicated to it. What the hell are people supposed to respond besides "Oh, that's nice" or "So ? Who cares ?" It's a nice moment shared between you and your father, but that doesn't mean that you have to run right to the Smark board and create a whole new subject about it. And besides, I don't think Razor was completely out of line. If people around here can post their opinions, why can't he ? You let your personal story out for all to see, so they should have the freedom to comment, whether it's nice or not. Personally, I thought a big "Who cares" when I read your post, and was glad to see that someone actually wrote it. People are entitled to have their opinions, even if they go against what you want them to be.
David Blazenwing 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2003 First of All...I don't give a fuck about your opinions and apparently either does anyone else here does. You completely and not surprisingly missed the meaning of the post...I was Illustrating the impact that Foley's return did. He created a Interest in a PPV that an 50 year old man whom doesn't follow the show was eager to see because of this confrontation. I was thanking Mick for getting my father, even if it was just a glimmering second, to be interested in the thing I've loved and admired my whole life. It's been a long time since I heard my father so interested in Wrestling. I am sorry that it offended your higher excellence of being Mr. Razoredge... Go ahead and educate us on our lack of intelligence and whatever may have you... No one will be paying attention. *claps* Yes! Choken... you are the fucking MAN! I hate people that say stuff like Razor did. BTW, reading your story actually brought a tear to my eyes (no joke, lol)... I wish my dad would come around and want to watch wrestling with me too. You're lucky, man. Even if it doesn't last, at least you and your dad will always have Bad Blood to remember! Rock on, Choken One. Rock on.

Guest Austin3164life Report post Posted June 10, 2003 Heh, that's an interesting story. Same thing happened to me when Austin and Rock returned. My uncle wanted to watch No Way Out at a bar with me. That was a cool thing. So this Mr. Prime character is the guy who keeps IMing me on AIM and tells me that ___ is way past his prime.
