Meltzer and the Observer stated that it was the FEUD, NOT the matches, that caused that. Booking "on the pole" matches (which by definition suck, but this one didn't from what I heard, MAYBE because of the workrate of those involved) three days before a PPV doesn't help either. Meltzer also reported how Stephanie saved the Wrestlemania title match but I don't see you agreeing with THAT.

 

If he couldn't handle the pressure of the midcard...what makes the WWF, or anyone esle think that he can handle a push to the top?

 

And Christian can? He has even less heat. It was painful to see his music and pyro get zero reaction on RAW Monday night. So sad.

 

You may share opinions, but it seems that some opinions are more popular than others. I think I have a right to object to some of them.

I don't know of one person who considered the on the pole match any higher than **.  The Rumble match they had was the best of the three.  And they didn't exactly set the world on fire there either.  3 boring matches and a bad feud...and none of that shows that Edge DOESN'T have the potential that you think he does?

On a Pole matches are usually rated from -* to a DUD, typically, so a ** match is more than ** from what was expected. And did Regal even have a better match with ANYBODY else in the WWF? I know he did afterwards with RVD (after three TERRIBLE TV matches), but I'm talking before Dec. 2K1.

um...how is that the point?  The question was why don't I agree with what the observer said about Steph and Mania...when I agree with what they said about Edge.  BUT I DO AGREE WITH WHAT THEY SAID ABOUT STEPH AND MANIA.  The Observer said that some people are saying that she saved it (probably true).  And then said that no one points out that it's bullshit because they fear being buried (probably true).  So what was your point?

Why should Edge continue to get pushed when they had 3 poor matches and a bad feud.  That was the question...and this is not an answer to it.  Do you feel that Edge has ANY part of the blame associated with this?  Regal's matches with RVD may not have been good...but the crowd was into them...unlike the Edge matches.

It's not his fault. It IS the bookers fault. I like Edge as a wrestler, but his character does very little for me. It's not his fault he got stuck in crap feuds with Regal where he jobbed TWICE. And it's not his fault they blew his feud with Christian, a feud that still should be going on today.
