Ren & Stimpy news - this fucking sucks

Recommended Posts

Guest Ghettoman

West won't be doing the voice of Stimpy, I think K will.

And it's not homophobia, some of you are missing the point.

It was always presented as a couple, always. They worked around everything you'd find in a typical marriage aside from sex, and now, the whole things gonna be based on sex. Thats what kills it for me.

Can you imagine the Simpsons taking on a more blatant joke format? How about virtual southpark? It's just not right....

On those videos...oh. my. god.

And onto those Rugrat parents...Phil and Lil's mom took to their dad with a strap on.  C'mon on...open your eyes!  I feel like i'm on crazy pills! ;)  And Chucky's dad seems like a porno director or something..it must be that mustache.

Reguarding Chucky's dad:

It was heavily implied in the very early episodes of the series that Chucky's dad was a recently outed and divorced gay male who somehow won sole custody of Chucky after his divorce.

It wasn't until around 95-97 (when the show began churning out various specials inbetween seasons) that they retconned the backstory about Chucky's dad being a widower onto the show. Ironically Nick (who is run by morons and retards) almost refused to let them have Chucky's mom be dead do to their belief that kids should not be exposed to death in any sort of cartoon show.

And you know that how?

Did Spike TV send you the scripts for each episode?

I think you're all suffering from Space Madness!

I think The Nu TNN needs to bring back The Ripping Friends for some new episodes or at least let it be part of the Ren & Stimpy Party Hour.

West and K are some sick and demented cartoonist.

So...sex jokes means a show is all about sex?

Since when? Was Seinfeld all about sex?

It's based around there relationship, and it's been "adulterated", please explain to me how Ren and Stimpy can be "adulterated" other than being laiden with blantant sex jokes?

Yeah this sucks. I can't believe that clip where they jump into bed and start doing each other...It takes away the whole stupid juvenille fun of the show...

Ren and Stimpy wasn't some innocent kiddie show that some seem to be saying...Nick just kept it's dark side in check.

Why can't a show with homosexuals still be fun and juvenile? It's not like it's going to be a drama.

Now that Nick isn't keeping him in check the original creator is now free to make the show how he wants to. He clearly wants to take it to a more adult level, so who are we to say he can't or shouldn't. If the show still has the same spirit, then who cares. Before anyone says "but it doesn't have the same spirit" I like to remind them that we have no clue what the show will be like.

All we've seen is 30 seconds from a 21 minute episode and they probably weren't even from the same episode. Just because we've seen these two jokes doesn't mean the entire show will be wall to wall gay jokes, I'm sure each toon will be different just like the original ones. Sometimes they were in space, sometimes they were in fairy tales, sometimes they were rubber nipple salesmen. I'm sure they're not gonna have sex every episode.

Clips of them talking about jiz-stains.

And that clip was a fair representation of the other 20 something episodes we know nothing about?

As far as Im concerned, if it wasn't for RAW being on the channel, I wouldn't watch anything else on the network. I might have watched R&S but now that they've gone and screwed it up, Im not going to bother.

*goes and listens to old R&S tape*

Shouldn't you...um...lets' see...Watch it before making that decision?

I can understand being uneasy about the new show, but damn you should at least watch it before making a judgement on it.

Screwed it up? If anything they made it funnier.

Yeah cheap gay jokes make everything better!

I bet people will see ads for R&S and be like "Yeah! They're gonna show Ren and Stimpy again? I loved that show!" then they'll see Ren and Stimpy having sex and be traumatized.

For the intent of this post, "people" indicates "me."

If cartoon characters having cable television sex would be traumatic to you, then you deserve lifetime mental anguish.

2 male cartoon characters that I spent my childhood watching having sex and speaking with gay innuendo is troubling for me and many others, I guess you don't feel the same way...

If the creator decided that they should now date large breasted women and the show will have the sexual themes/jokes that Nick never allowed in the original episodes, would it still be "traumatic" to your fragile mind?

Yeah, I really hate homos.

look, it has nothing to do with "hating homos". I don't see how you all think this is going to be some gay pride show. It's gonna be completely homophobic, full of gay jokes about dicks and butts, on a "men's" network, so its whole purpose is to make people LAUGH at the "homos", so don't preach to me unless you know what you're talking about.

I'll give it a chance, but if you can't understand why children's cartoon characters that I would watch with my younger sister now sodomizing each other isn't A LITTLE uncomfotable to watch well then I guess we just have different standards of decency.

The show has changed. Big deal. Sex is everywhere in the media and now it has been incorporated into Ren & Stimpy.

Odds are this version of Ren & Stimpy will still be "cleaner" than more than half the shit on TV right. For instance, Temptation Island. If anyone actually thinks that seeing two male cartoon characters having sex is morally worse than the shit that is shown on NETWORK TV, you are out of your mind.

As for watching it with your younger sister, the show is on at 10:00 for a reason. Plus there is no reason you can't watch it alone and only catch the reruns from the past seasons with her. When it comes to feeling uncomfortable watching certain TV shows with your family, I feel uncomfortable watching the WWE with anyone in my immediate family (for different reasons however), so I don't do it. Go watch The Wild Thornberrys with her because YES watching any kind of sex on TV with a child under the age of 10 is going to be uncomfortable, not to mention completely inaapropriate on your (or whoever elses) part.
