Guest oldschoolwrestling Report post Posted June 13, 2003 This week's edition of Smackdown saw a major ratings spike, doing a 3.7 broadcast rating. That is up from last week's 3.1 and is the highest number that the show has done this year. 1wrestling.com

Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted June 13, 2003 Maybe they should promote matches more often. Didn't the time where they promoted the cage match between Goldberg & Christian and the Jericho/Nash have a pretty high rating? Hmm.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 13, 2003 Promoting matches ahead of time? That's so crazy...
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted June 13, 2003 Hey promotion even gets me hyped. Even when I don't want to see the match I still tune in. The promotion thing works.

Murmuring Beast 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2003 When it drops to 3.1 next week, McMahon will blame the Wall Street Crash of 1929 and that the German audience has fallen due to loss of currency value in their native land.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 13, 2003 Wow. TBS outdraws Mysterio. The proof lies right there...
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 13, 2003 (edited) "Something needs to happen in Germany to stimulate their economy. I'm willing to accept ANYTHING as long as it gets my ratings up... Yes Pat, ANYTHING... A 'Yahtzee Party'? For christsakes Pat, I'm in no mood for your gay lil games. What in gods name would a Yahtzee Party do for Germany? .... say what??... Oooh.." Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted June 13, 2003 A steaming pile of shit show gets a good rating. Fuck you, America.
Murmuring Beast 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2003 "You know what this company needs? It's own hardcore sex channel. I'll star with Stacy Kiebler in XFL." "What does XFL stand for, Mr. McMahon?" "Hell, I don't know, I'm just trying to get rid of these t-shirts and helmets discretely."
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted June 14, 2003 Some good news about last week: "Matt Hardy's match with Rey Mysterio on last night's Smackdown was the final match of their feud and is appears as though he will be moving on to the heavyweight division. Hardy is said to be very high in Vince McMahon's eyes due to the strong rating his match with Mysterio received on last week's Smackdown (a 3.6, which was the highest rated segment on the show)." Guest art_vandelay Report post Posted June 14, 2003 Was there more promotion for last night's Smackdown than in previous weeks? I didn't notice it.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted June 14, 2003 I guess it's time to scramble for a reason as to why this lump of crap scored a good rating. I guess the "reaction to last week's show" thing is possible. I thought last week was kinda lame, but loved the main event.
Guest wwF1587 Report post Posted June 14, 2003 fuck this if it leads to the big show continuing to get pushed
Guest Austin3164life Report post Posted June 14, 2003 Matt Hardy will probably move to the upcoming US Title division.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 14, 2003 This is plain and simple here... Thursdays's Show did GREAT monster ratings and you have to figure it was because they gave away an PPV MAIN EVENT away on free tv. They promoted it well and had a good story going for it... Then they have a decent POWER match that ends up with an HOLY SHIT finish that left us with an inconclusive finish... That allows WWE to have the MEGA blow-off to this long running fued between Show and Lesnar in San Antonio for the SMACKDOWN 200 special show in a special Main event BROCK VS SHOW-STEEL CAGE MATCH. It would be a good ratings draw and it would effectively end this angle... That is where WWE is going with this me thinks...
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted June 14, 2003 Maybe casual viewers are just getting lured in to watching Smackdown becaus eof Mr. America and Sable.

LivingLegendGaryColeman 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2003 Notice the highest rated Smackdown of the year is the only one of the year featuring Billy Gunn... could mean something... Billy Gunn's return as Mr. Ass = ratings spike
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted June 14, 2003 I thought it was an ok show, and Im guessing that the high rating with the finish to the main event might mean that more people will tune in next week to see what happens...and with it being the 200th Smackdown they could bust out everything they have to make it a good show. Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 14, 2003 I wouldn't attribute this rating to anything other than nothing else on TV - because really, what was on TV that night?
