Murmuring Beast Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 Call me naive, stupid, whatever, but I think that Bad Blood will actually be really good tonight. The card isn't terrible and there are matches that I want to see for a change. Flair - Michaels - I'm expecting these guys to steal the show, with plenty of near falls, cheating, maybe a bit of blood. Give it 15 minutes and the crowd will eat it up. Booker T - Christian Despite the fact that I'm not really a fan of either guy, this could be a good 10 minute match and I hope they do the Dusty Finish. Have Christian cheat to win~ and then have the referee reverse the decision and Booker roll up Christian for the title. This would get the crowd fired up and would be the ideal choice for an opener. Jericho - Goldberg These guys could put on a good show, but I hope that Jericho picks up the win. In my opinion, I think that the Jericho heel run is reaching its end. Test - Steiner A short, energetic match isn't out of the question, but they can't afford to let this run anymore than 10 minutes. With Stacy at ringside this could be an relatively exciting match. Both tag matches will be bad and I'm not expecting anything of Austin and Bischoff. Ah, I nearly forgot: Nash - Triple H This won't be as bad as everyone is saying. I think with Foley in there it could be decent. I'm no WWE apologist or promoter and I think the way the company have dicked around the core audience in the past year has been terrible, but I think WWE will realize that they need this event to be a success if they want to the brand-spilt PPVs to be a success. Don't let me down, WWE.
Guest FatKane Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 Foley will take the biggest bump of the night.
Guest OnlyMe Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 Sadly, of those matches you list, each contains one wrestler that I wouldn't be sad never to see again, for differing reasons. The show could swing either way, but with it being the first Raw only PPV, McMahon will both hype it a LOT, and pull out all the stops leading up to the show. Whether or not they will put on a worthwhile show remains to be seen, but after their efforts so far this year, I'm not expecting much. Oh, and I'm glad that we've got split PPVs, so that Rodney Mack and Chris Nowinski can be on, and not Brock Lesnar and Chris Benoit.
Guest KJ Brackish Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 I am optimistic as well. I don't feel that WWE would make this first-ever BRAND ONLY PPV and totally make it bite da big one! I think that this will be a nice day today for the WWE! I can't wait to.....um.......READ the RESULTS! I wish I could order it! DFA
Guest Breetai Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 I hope they do the Dusty Finish. Have Christian cheat to win~ and then have the referee reverse the decision and Booker roll up Christian for the title. This would be the final nail in the coffin of Booker's cedability. Not only can he not beat HHH, he can't even beat the weak-as-dishwater holder of the secondary title clean. His career would be OVER.
Guest NoSelfWorth Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 Putting the IC Title match in the opener would kill the title as far as being credible. Stick it in the semi-final slot.
Murmuring Beast Posted June 15, 2003 Author Report Posted June 15, 2003 Putting the IC Title match in the opener would kill the title as far as being credible. Stick it in the semi-final slot. Nah, they've done it loads of times before. It doesn't really matter as long as it fires up the crowd.
Guest Nunzio Cardozo Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 Goldberg has been wowing critics and fans alike since the WWE discovered him. I see no reason to have him lose because he has been on a hot streak since he joined. Goldberg is the future of professional wrestling. I want to commend Vince McMahon for developing and pushing young, bright stars like Bill Goldberg.

I cannot accept anything other than this guy HAS TO BE a gimmick.
Murmuring Beast Posted June 15, 2003 Author Report Posted June 15, 2003 I remember nearly getting banned a couple of years back on the old board for the legendary Jock S.Trap parodies. Deep down everyone loved them. I bet someone still has it on their hard-drive.

Learn your history, they been doing that for 20 years.. WM2 Macho man vs George Steele for the IC title was the second match on the card.. and how many times did we see it in later WM's PPVs or TV shows when it was the first match of the night?
Guest Choken One Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 Exactly...It opened Maina 17 and 18 and countless other times... It won't hurt the title's credibility whatsoever...
Guest Trivia247 Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 Exactly...It opened Maina 17 and 18 and countless other times... It won't hurt the title's credibility whatsoever... It only hurts the title when you put it on crappy wrestlers who don't do anything to elevate themselves because of it. thankfully few IC champs over its long career in the WWF have been to shitty... the IC title even elevated Honky Tonk Man to the most hated heel to hold the belt in an age. At the time at least...

Murmuring Beast Posted June 15, 2003 Author Report Posted June 15, 2003 Hey! Leave Gunn and Train outta there!

Guest Choken One Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 Yep...I agree with you...Aside from those guys and a couple guys who got bad gimmicks or angles... THE I.C title has been pretty nicely used in it's history...
ChrisMWaters Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 Hmm...slightly off topic...I'd like you people to list, in your opinion, from first to worst, the Intercontinental Champions. They are...in order of their first reigns... Pat Patterson Ken Patera Pedro Morales Don Muraco Tito Santana Greg Valentine Randy Savage Ricky Steamboat Honky Tonk Man Ultimate Warrior Rick Rude Mr. Perfect Kerry Von Erich Bret Hart The Mountie Roddy Piper British Bulldog Shawn Michaels Marty Jannetty Razor Ramon Diesel Jeff Jarrett Dean Douglas Goldust Ahmed Johnson Marc Mero Hunter Hearst Helmsley/Triple H Rocky Miavia/The Rock Owen Hart Steve Austin Ken Shamrock Val Venis Road Dogg Godfather Edge D'Lo Brown Chyna Chris Jericho Kurt Angle Chris Benoit Rikishi Eddie Guerrero Billy Gunn Jeff Hardy Kane Albert Lance Storm Christian Test William Regal Rob Van Dam Anyway, list away!
Guest Nunzio Cardozo Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 1. Billy Gunn 2. Val Venis No one else matters.
Murmuring Beast Posted June 15, 2003 Author Report Posted June 15, 2003 Worst Champion: Road Dogg - the guy couldn't wrestle.
Guest Choken One Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 Put this in a seperate fourm first of all... The WORST CHAMPION ------------------------------ A-Train The WORST TITLE RUN -------------------------------- Dean Douglas Top Ten 1. Honky Tonk Man 2. Mr. Perfect 3. Bret Hart 4. Shawn Micheals 5. Razor Ramon 6. Randy Savage 7. The Rock 8. Rick Rude 9. Kurt Angle 10. Jeff Jarrett Top 5 I.C title Matches 1. Randy Savage Vs Ricky Steamboat -WM3 2. Bret Hart Vs British Bulldog- Summer Slam 1992 3. HBK Vs Razor Ramon- WMX 4. Bret Hart Vs Mr. Perfect - Summer Slam 1993 5. HBK Vs Marty Jannetty- Raw Cage 1993
Guest Trivia247 Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 Worst Champion: Road Dogg - the guy couldn't wrestle. Was kinda funny, before I got WWF Attitude and wrestled as him, I never thought he even had a Finisher...but after Attitude came out, suddenly he is doing his OZ Pumphandle slam more.
Guest Choken One Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 Road Dogg had a Forgettable Run with the title that still too this guy I don't get... They built for 4 months... Billy Gunn Vs Shamrock Road Dogg Vs Al Snow And they decided not only to put Holly in the Hardcore match and Goldust and Venis into the I.C match but then in a BONEHEADED move of all boneheaded move... They put the I.C title on Dogg and the Hardcore on Gunn a week before WMXV... When you had two HOT programs like Snow/Dogg and Shammy/Gunn... Why fuck around with it and just have those blow offs? It's still not as bad as Shawn's political bullshit with Douglas.
Guest Choken One Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 Oh yeah Russo Rools! Don't you ever speak good of that waste again...
Guest PowerPB13 Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 I seem to get into trouble when I post about WWE-related matters, but the reason why I'm not ordering Bad Blood is simply this: Triple H and Kevin Nash will get the credit for each and every PPV buy. It's unfortunate because I really want to see Flair-Michaels, Goldberg-Jericho, and even Booker-Christian(and the rest of the undercard doesn't look THAT bad). But if this PPV gets any kind of decent buyrate, it's clear where the credit will go. Sadly, if the PPV gets a LOW buyrate, then it'll most likely be blamed on those pesky non-draws Goldberg and Jericho. Ain't life grand? -Patrick
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 You're naive and stupid. If the WWE "realized" that this was a big and important PPV, then they would have pulled the ads of Goldberg and HHH.
