Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted June 17, 2003 Actually WWE would probrably excercise it's no compete clause with Storm just to fuck with him. They only release you without the no compete when you leave on ok terms. Since this is a burial of sorts, they would do this to him. He'd be able to get better work in Japan than in TNA. TNA has it's own inside strife as well.
Guest newblood03 Report post Posted June 17, 2003 i wish he would go to TNA where he would be awesome and in the hunt for the title... i dont get to watch TNA i just want a guy who has great in ring abilities to make it farther...at least wcw made him credible and a contender
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 17, 2003 Didn't Russo want to make Lance Storm Eric Bischoffs illegitimate son?
Guest godthedog Report post Posted June 17, 2003 getting fired would probably be the best thing for lance storm's career at this point. the fed hasn't let him really do his thing in almost 2 years, and the styles of the man & the company really just don't suit each other: storm really is too boring a personality to get over on some kind of goofy or charismatic character, and the wwf is too stubborn/retarded to just let him wrestle. Guest jester Report post Posted June 17, 2003 I don't care if Storm is the most boring wrestler ever. Getting your fans to tell you that you are boring is insanity. Why not stand there and point out that PPVs are overpriced?
Guest Downhome Report post Posted June 17, 2003 I just want to say that this just might be my least favorite display of shitting on a talent, that I've ever seen. If it led to Lance Storm getting a push then I might be able to deal with it, but if it was just for the hell of doing it, then I'll be VERY pissed. Either way, actually MAKING the fans chant "boring" over and over is a HUGE mistake, I don't see why they would do that at all. Once you get the fans started with something, it will take off if they want to, and it just might do so in other aspects of the show other than what they originally wanted it to... ...just like the "What!" chant did. Guest JRE Report post Posted June 17, 2003 I thought it was cool Storm is in an angle again. I think it can actually lead to Storm being interesting again. Damn, you've got to be really sensitive to find that offensive. Let's face it, Storm working a WWE style is pretty boring....an angle where he fights against it can possibly lead to a number of things, I suspect a reunion with Dawn Marie for one thing. Guest AM The Kid Report post Posted June 17, 2003 Watch it be just like "What?" and get chanted during EVERY match, EVERY interview and just ruin the entire show.

Guest Downhome Report post Posted June 17, 2003 Storm better become The Storm Master after this. Maybe Storm will join Hurricane and they'll be the new Natural Disasters. To be honest, I'd mark out for that tag team. It be a lot better than most out there right now. I'm betting on this leading to nothing at all.

Guest Steviekick Report post Posted June 17, 2003 Hopefully this means that Lance Storm will get his character revamped. Maybe they'll turn him into the lovable boring guy so he can get squashed by HHH on a PPV in the near future.

I know there are problems in WWE, heh. I still enjoyed the show though.
Guest sean pyro Report post Posted June 17, 2003 i think them making the crowd chanting boring is just a scapegoat for them, now if/when someone boos or yells out boring they can blame it on what happen tonight.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 17, 2003 Or he can be "Mr. Excitement" Lance Storm, and have an elaborate entrance, an entourage, his own personal sign holder (ala Lodi), but still be incredibly boring, but pretend to be exciting. Storm: Are you ready for.... some excitment? Oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Come on Baby... Are you ready? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Storm: Are you ready for.... some excitment? Oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Come on Baby... Are you ready? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Mr Excitement and Lodi would be amazing. He would need a really over the top theme song, with vocals perfomed by the woman who sang Reverend D-Von's song.
Guest wildpegasus Report post Posted June 17, 2003 JRE I respect your opinion. It might lead to something good for Storm but I just can't see any good coming out of it. It's really nothing more than punishment for someone they probably think is expendabe. It's known that the boring chant is like sticking a knife in a wrestler's back. Think about it. You're working hard and putting on a good match when all of a sudden a few people in the crowd try to get themselves over by chanting boring. There's not one insult that could possably be worse. They're insulting your craft that you live for and trying to convince others that you're boring. All this does (Austin should've known better and refused to do this angle) is possably spread the boring chant which under no circumstances is desireable. It's either that or Vince and Kevin Dunn are trying to convince everyone their belief that we should be watching movies and not wrestling.
Guest wrestlingbs Report post Posted June 17, 2003 I thought the segment was terrible. I'm hating retired Austin more and more. First the Redneck Triathlon, and now this. The stupid thing was, Lance wasn't that boring during the match. I wasn't great, but the few moves he did do were exciting. My prediction: this is punishment for Storm and in no way is ment to get Lance over. It will backfire like some of you guys said once the crowd sees more "stellar" main events. And does anybody else think the only reason Lance Cade's name was changed was so JR wouldn't mix them up like he does with everybody else?
Guest Vyce Report post Posted June 17, 2003 To the Storm haters: you're missing the point. No matter how "boring" one may find Storm to be, the concept of actively going out and burying one of your employees live on the air for some minor backstage shit that 90% of the audience does not know (or care to know) about, while doing it in a fashion that opens a Pandora's box by providing a specific avenue through which the audience can openly criticize an already struggling product, is sheer insanity and indicative at how royally mismanaged and fucked up the WWE is these days. Storm better become The Storm Master after this. Christ, Storm should just quit now. Because if the alternative to him being buried is to turn himself into a fucking comedy act, than it's all over for him anyway.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 17, 2003 The Storm Master is not a comedy act! "Boring" could be the WWE's "You fucked up"... how appropriate.
Guest JRE Report post Posted June 17, 2003 First of all, I'm not a Storm hater. I like Storm- and I see him being involved in an angle as a gateway for a more high profile role. I'm not looking upon it as a punishment because that's something I don't know anything about- I side with the portion of the audience that knows nothing about it because it's nothing more then something I vaguely read about in an unconfirmed report. Fans chanting "boring" in a Storm match may add excitment for the matches because it gives the fans something to do, a way to interact with Storm as Storm becomes increasingly angry at the chants against him. Preferably lasting until Storm changes his boring ways....or goes to Smackdown so the chants can be muffed out The only potential problems that arise are fans starting the chant during other matches or during Storm matches when the angle has come full circle to the point where he's not supposed to be boring anymore. Both of which can be prevented with good match booking, I'll wait and see. Anyways...check out the WWE.com results: Ivory & the Dudley Boyz defeated Jazz, Rodney Mack & Christopher Nowinski when Ivory pinned Women's Champion Jazz. Garrison Cade pinned Lance Storm in a boring match. Goldberg & Booker T defeated Christian & Chris Jericho when Booker T pinned Intercontinental Champion Christian. EXACTLY. I still hope they keep this "boring" thing up, because it will be like the "what" chants, only worse. As in, anything the fans don't like, they'll start chanting it. Remember when fans whatted Kane during the Katie Vick confession? it sent a clear message about what the fans thought. So "boring" we'll be a real eye-opener for them. "Huh? People find Randy Orton...boring?"
Guest Steviekick Report post Posted June 17, 2003 can you imagine the "boring" chant that will happen any time Big Show gets time on the mic?
Guest JHawk Report post Posted June 17, 2003 How the hell they can do this to Storm when HHH hasn't had an exciting match since last year's SummerSlam is beyond me. This was one of the two things that really pissed me off tonight (the other being Mae Young's excessive TV time). OK, tell the crowd "This guy is boring." We're talking "Shave your back" type heat here. And why? Because he's a wrestler and not some lazy motherfucker who doesn't know a wristlock from a wristwatch. Message to Vince McMahon: I AM NOT ENTERTAINED BY YOUR VERSION OF SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT! Those of us who have watched wrestling since before the Russo era don't appreciate you burying the actual wrestlers because you get off on Test and Scott Steiner getting to continue the feud that nobody gives a shit about. And sadly, that was a decent match when Austin kept his fucking mouth shut. Assholes.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 17, 2003 "Garrison Cade pinned Lance Storm in a boring match." -perfect.
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted June 17, 2003 It's got to be an angle, I can't see them doing this for any other reason. If it is for punishment, then it is truly ridiculous. I was hoping that Austin would then fire Storm and then he would go to SD and get in the US title mix.
Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted June 17, 2003 Unless this is an angle and goes somewhere, I don't understand it. I mean that's absurd punishment for speaking out like the REST of the roster for last night's PPV. For fuck's sake this had better be an angle to help Storm get some form. Dammit, this guy was formally held the WCW Cruiserweight, Hardcore(?) and United States title all at fucking once and was able to put on some damn fine matches that I enjoyed to hell. Shit, he was one of my fav characters in WCW. Now he's been reduced to this... Fuck, ALL the good WCW talent has been fucking blown to the point where they aren't redeemable. Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 17, 2003 This angle could create peace on earth and it's still stupid to get your fans to chant "boring".
Guest Memoirs of an Invisible Chevy Report post Posted June 17, 2003 I like Lance Storm. I didn't see the angle b/c I stopped watching the product. You should all try.
