Guest wildpegasus Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 The one thing that really gets me upset about the WWE more than anything is the abuse of women. Why in the world is it cool last night to cripple Mae Young with a stunner (which looked like it hurt her) and tonight it's the worst thing ever to hurt her? The Dudleys also suffer from this problem. Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid. This is just plain stupid.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 WWE thinks very little of it's audience. 1. Austin is a face and Test is a heel. That dictates response to actions in WWE land...not common sense. 2. As a WWE watcher...you aren't supposed to remember anything that happened more than one segment before...let alone a whole night.
Guest bob_barron Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Austin just "stunned" her. Test slammed her right into the mat really hard. That's all I got
Guest the pinjockey Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Ummm....Test smacked Moolah too?
Guest RugbyDiva Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 If there is one thing about women, is that we are tough as hell. Still though, I agree. WWE has little respect when it comes to the treatment of women. Mae Young looked legitemately hurt tonight.. and every other time. But you have to think of something else here, women like Mae Young know what they're signing up when they get involved. So it's not really all WWE's doing. I mean afterall, WWE is not a ballet.. although sometimes it seems like it.
Guest The Czech Republic Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 hey, MY question is how is this even more heinous than when the Dudleys put her through a table?

But should be looked at as EQUALLY heinous. However, since Austin is a face he gets away with attacking anyone. JR should just acknowledge the fact and stop being so hypocritical.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 I thought this was discovered a long time ago.. Face Austin can do no wrong.
Guest AndrewTS Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 bps summed it up. Good guys can only do good and bad guys can only do wrong. I can see why Vince needed to hire "professional" writers. That's sure paying off!! See also Lita's interference in the TLC II (or was it 3?), where her interference was good and fine until E&C defended themselves, then when they attacked her JR lambasted E&C for it.
Guest jester Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 In fact, you could argue that Austin's action are worse. After all, Mae got involved in a legal match, so Test had to wrestle her. You know what? I'd love to be on the writing staff right now. You don't have to worry about whether things make sense, flow from one segment to another, or are even any good. You just have to make sure that everything you write makes HHH look like God.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Well you see...Mae Young wanted to bronco buster Austin next. So he attacked her. Self defense, simple as that. Test just meltdown'ed the bitch and called it good for no reason. Oh hell, even I don't buy that.
Guest JMA Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 I do kinda miss Russo's "shades of grey" booking style.
Guest JHawk Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 I want to be in just one booking meeting, particularly the next time HHH is defending against somebody who's actually getting a reaction. 10 bucks says all I have to say is "But say we put Booker over and..." and I'm out the door in less than 30 seconds.
Guest deadbeater Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Autin hit a very gentle stunner. Test did th pump handle slam with full force.
Guest JMA Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Autin hit a very gentle stunner. Test did th pump handle slam with full force. That sounds like something JR would say to justify Austin's actions.
Guest wildpegasus Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Mae Young went down very awkardly on the stunner though.
LooseCannon25 Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 JR would say that Austin was just having fun and caught up in the moment, and had to defend himself from pie crust getting on his lip. Meanwhile Test is just a bah gawd bully and had NO right doing what he did even though his boss ordered him to.
Just John Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 JR being hypocritical is nothing new. One of the only good things Lawler has done in months was make good ol' JR look stupid on his views of France. Maybe one day someone will call him out on something like this, and we can listen to him make a stupid excuse before he abruptly goes to another issue. Ironically, calling the match at hand is JR's favorite way to get out of these situations.
Guest Nevermortal Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Mae Young definitely McMahon'd that Stunner.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Ntoice how they never showed the stunner on any of the replays from the pie eating contest. They don't want anyone who didn't see the PPV to know that Austin pulled a dastardly deed like that. Oh and was anyone else disturbed by Jerry Lawler getting excited about the pie eating? I mean the man wanted to see one man perform oral sex on a woman. I mean.....that's kind of sick isn't it? "Alright! I get to see Steve Austin go down on somebody! I'll be right there spanking to it!"
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 times like these I miss Jesse the Body. He'd a pointed that out.
Guest Choken One Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 or even Heyman... and of course JR would just go "shut up you jew...it's different then that"...
Guest JMA Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 When he's not drooling over women, Lawler is actually pretty smart. He actually said there was a display of nationalism on Raw. I was impressed by how he called JR on the whole France thing. I also really enjoyed his stuff before the "Attitude" era.
Guest EdwardKnoxII Posted June 19, 2003 Report Posted June 19, 2003 See also Lita's interference in the TLC II (or was it 3?), where her interference was good and fine until E&C defended themselves, then when they attacked her JR lambasted E&C for it. JR being hypocritical is nothing new. Of course. That's the one thing I really hated about Lita and JR when Lita was with the Hardyz. She would always interfere when the heels would do NOTHING to warrant it and I could understanding if the heels had cheated big time or try to attack her for no reason during the match but, she would do it while the match had been clean. And, of course, when she would interfere JR would be yelling about how good she is and how the heel was asking for it but, whenever she try to go for a rana and she get powerbombed and pushed off the top rope JR would go calling the heel a son of bitch and how dare the heel hurt a lady. Of course, forgetting that Lita had no reason to interfere in the first place.
Guest Nunzio Cardozo Posted June 19, 2003 Report Posted June 19, 2003 J.R. can be a hypocrite on account of the Palsy.
Guest MillenniumMan831 Posted June 19, 2003 Report Posted June 19, 2003 God, I wish Jesse Ventura would take over the heel announcing duties on Raw and set JR straight. Just hearing him call out JR on, "Oh, you're just defending him because he's one of your favorites! If Test had of done that, you'd of been totally irate!!!"
Guest Raven_Effect01 Posted June 19, 2003 Report Posted June 19, 2003 Here's something from a 6-person Intergender tag team match that happened 2 years ago I think: *Matt Hardy hits Stephanie with the Twist of Fate* JR:"Oh yeah!! She deserved it!!" *Stone Cold and HHH attack Lita* JR:"Bah Gawd, those sons of bitches are sick!"
Guest The Czech Republic Posted June 19, 2003 Report Posted June 19, 2003 One of the only good things Lawler has done in months was make good ol' JR look stupid on his views of France. I missed this, what exactly did Lawler say? BTW: Yes, Jerry does have his flashes of brilliance.

Of course, forgetting that Lita had no reason to interfere in the first place. Ah yes. This was in mid-2000 when they started their super-complacent attitude of "no matter what we do or how little sense it makes, you will like it."

I missed this, what exactly did Lawler say? JR: I can't stand how these young stars hate America. JL: I don't know. What's the difference between them not liking us, and you not liking France. JR: It's not that I don't like France, I just don't like their attitudes. JL: Well, I bet they don't like your's either. JR: I don't give a damn what they think. Pretty much how it went down. The last line is real.
