Guest Phoenix Fury Legdrop Report post Posted June 17, 2003 But again—Nowinski got HOW MUCH of surgery done to his nose? Did you say $30,000, JR? OK, OK, I’ll stretch my imagination a little. However, you could probably CLONE the guy’s nose for less!!! Didn't Russo once write the same storyline with D'Lo Brown's chest protector?

Murmuring Beast 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2003 How is a mask supposed to knock someone out for a three count? At least a high-heel shoe would hurt.
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted June 17, 2003 I agree that you don't find guys like Le Resistance in your day to day life. I also never saw a masturbating midget in my regular travels either. The crowd does not want Goldberg to become an unstoppable force. The crowd wants Goldberg to have a segment where he eats, chokes, turns blue, works his own death, and then resigns from the company the company the next day. Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted June 17, 2003 APO, I believe Russo was gone by the time Vince was winning titles. I was talking about when Russo booked himself to go over Booker T in whatever they called that HIAC rip-off on Nitro. You mean the War Games Triple Cage... Hiac-War Games rip off... I forgot it was the Triple Cage match. I was thinking of the "Caged Heat" crap which pretty much was a HIAC rip-off which also was a War Games rip-off... Egads, my head hurts now. TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2003 Yeah, the first thing that came to mind was Caged Heat too (not a bad name really) Russo and Flair on top of the Cage. Foley and Taker on top of the Cell. Who bought out who?
Guest 11and0baby Report post Posted June 17, 2003 Or Maybe its never was Russo and just someone playing a game with all the "Smarks" and watch them fall for them like a bunch of idiots. No Matter how much power Ryder has in 1wrestling he'd never do something as blatantly stupid as to comment on your competitor's product like that. So In Short Wasn't Russo at all and You're all Fools!!!
Guest notJames Report post Posted June 17, 2003 I agree with Dogberry. I found it neither intriguing nor interesting. It's nothing that hasn't been said before. Having it come from Russo's pickled pate makes it even less relevant to me. But you read it and clicked on the link, right? I'll pretty much read anything you put in front of me. After a while, though, if the writing is unintelligible or pedestrian, my Evelyn Wod gland kicks in and I speed through all the treacle. Russo's column clocked in at about 15 seconds. Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted June 17, 2003 So, Russo has a problem with Kane being able to speak? Because God knows, that's a much worse character aberration than that whole Undertaker evil Satanic Minister thing? Hey, don't you always see those everywhere in real life? Guest Downhome Report post Posted June 18, 2003 Yeah, sorry Downhome, that would've been my thread, I think this one had been banished to page 2. My bad. I don't really care, I'm just jerking yer chain, yuk yuk yuk.
Guest Slapnuts00 Report post Posted June 18, 2003 bah, Russo's such a mark for himself. I see right through him. Yeah he points out a lot of petty shit from Raw that all of us could identify too, without offereing any logical solutions, and ignoring his own horrid booking mistakes in the past, and current mistakes in TNA. I really hope him retiring in 2 years is for real, but the way wrestling retirements are I guess it's too good to be true.
Guest The Decadent Slacker Report post Posted June 18, 2003 eh whatever. I do agree with a lot of what he said, but i didn't agree with just as much (Steiner should be a prick while getting a push because he's *ahem* SCOTT STEINER). Yeah he's echoing statements made practically since the invasion, but the fact it's someone who people in the business know makes it more impactful in some ways. However, when the guy is the same one who made Arquette the world champion, thought transvestites meant comedy, gave Rena Mero a lesbian stalker, made an Ass King, made everything into a "shoot", & of course had a midget jerk off in a trash can, you can't take anything the man says at face value. Russo IS a smart man. Really. he just does really dumb things. He's a paradox: a stupid genius. I give him all the credit in the world for the positive things he's done in the business, & i also give him most of the credit for the bad (i read Schiavone thought up the Arquette thing first, & Russo went for it because he's Russo. dunno if it's true, but eh.) It's a conflict of interest, yeah, but who cares anyway? Nearly everyone in this forum hates the current WWE product, so big fucking deal if Russo or Ryder agree to bash it on a biased insider site. I'll care when Gerwitz writes a column for the torch or something. but yeah, ooh Russo, makin waves, big fucking whoop. on the plus side, i think he does look better without the beard. the thing on his face, not Mrs Russo
Guest eirejmcmahon Report post Posted June 18, 2003 Is the financial situation at NWATNA so desperate that one of their lead creative staff has to supplement his income by writing online critiques of a WWE show ?

King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2003 Ok this has been brought up already...but this is 1wrestling right? You really think this is Russo? I mean come on, this could just be random smark writing in to 1wrestling with Russo's name on it, they start going crazy, take the day off of primary school and start posting it. I pretty much doubt it's Russo. Oh, and if it is Russo, when Kane dropped the voic box he wasn't speaking perfect English was he? X-Pac had to coax him into talking, he wasn't going around saying 'DUDE' and 'FREAKS RULE' was he? Read carefully and pick up the point.
Guest nikowwf Report post Posted June 18, 2003 I like how Russo said NWA has some problems too, as this one statement made his whole long hypocritcal rant suddenly valid! somebody break out a russo era nitro and do a similar nitpick job. The review would be 9,653 pages long. niko
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted June 18, 2003 I enjoyed his review. He made a strong point about how wrestling needs to be more real (the covering up part) and that the WWE should stop insulting their audience's intelligence;.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 18, 2003 But Russo's answer to that is just as stupid.
Guest nikowwf Report post Posted June 19, 2003 Russo has done 10 million things in wrestling that break the same logic barrier he seems to have a problem with the WWE breaking. Yes, the WWE has 1,000 problems, but the last person in the world i want to hear talking about them is Vince Russo. niko
Guest Cerebus Report post Posted June 19, 2003 Reading a report by Russo about gaps of logic and stupid gimmicks/storylines in WWE is like reading a report of the UN Human Rights commission chaired by LIBYA!
Guest humongous2002 Report post Posted June 19, 2003 Love him or hate him, Russo is 100% right about the WWE, they use to be edgy and now it feels like i'm watching a kiddie show with bathroom humor.
Guest nikowwf Report post Posted June 19, 2003 kiddie show with bathroom humor. and that would be something Russo would be opposed to? Get real...did you watch when he was booking Nitro? niko
Guest humongous2002 Report post Posted June 19, 2003 Nitro?Nah, i always thought WCW was WWF lite and never watched it.I agreed with the things Russo said about the WWE in his column, but the bathroom humor remark was mine.
Guest nikowwf Report post Posted June 19, 2003 One episode of Vince Russo scripted Nitro was exhausting - so many things happened. Women would beat men, 10,000 turns would take place, every match would have a run-in, a gimmick, and last 2 minutes. There were 200,000 logic gaps, and bathroom humor was not only featured, but almost the rule. Gay characters, sexual names (Hugh E Rection anyone?) and just a mess. And please everyone, don't tell me about the ONE good nitro he'd do every once in a while and hold it up as an example of his writing. niko
Guest NoSelfWorth Report post Posted June 19, 2003 Maybe Russo would write better if he didn't use cheap ass B movies as inspiration.
Guest nikowwf Report post Posted June 19, 2003 I think Russo would write better if he didn't script so many things to happen. Something interesting will happen, and then a similar thing will happen 2,000 more times. BTW, speaking of Russo logic gaps - do you remember when he did the tag team tournament with random partners, and almost every feuding pair of wrestlers wound up as a team? Logic gap? niko
