Guest ViciousFish Report post Posted June 20, 2003 Which album is the song 'Superman' on?? I watched the video on the 8 Mile DVD last night but I know I've heard it before and I can't figure out where.

Guest El Satanico Report post Posted June 20, 2003 Speaking of m&m...his appearance on AlTV was hilarious. Weird Al tore him a new ass. So basically what I'm saying is that m&m will feud with another skinny nonthreatening white boy. That m&m...what a hardcore thug he is.
Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2003 Mind explaining what happened? I'm curious. Eminem's got the skills, but he's basically the male equivalent of Madonna, and would probably be in a trailer somewhere if he didn't have Dre's beats. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted June 20, 2003 ALTV is a show on VH1 and is basically just for Weird Al to promote his new album Poodle Hat. I believe he's done this show before, but this time it's for his new album. The show consists of Al's videos, Al singing over real videos and fake interviews. The interviews consists of Al putting together parts of real interviews to make a interview that makes the person look like an total idiot, then he acts like he's the interviewer. Same thing that Daily Show does. I can't really explain the m&m segment and do it justice. You really should try finding the show on vh1. Or perhaps kazaa
Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2003 Mind explaining what happened? I'm curious. Well, it wasn't a real interview (Al just used footage from an old Eminem interview, I think), but Al basically went off on Eminem for not letting him do the parody, insinuated that Eminem's come out of the closet, and when Al played the song and Eminem went "It's repetitive and bad" or whatever, Al said "Well, I could only change the lyrics, I couldn't change the song..." HILARIOUS stuff.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 20, 2003 Em would be in prison more likely then in a trailor if not for Dre's Beats but It's Em words that make the fucker good... He may be white but fucker got flow.

Guest Ripper Report post Posted June 20, 2003 Sooooo...weird Al "tears Eminem a new asshole" and it would be WRONG for Eminem to respond...okie-dokie. Don't make that much sense to me but alrighty.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted June 20, 2003 Well it was clearly a comical "tearing him a new ass". So fuck m&m and his lack of a sense of humor if he feels the need to start a feud with him over it.
Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2003 I know he's got flow, but what he sings about consists of him talking through his ass, about beating up women, gays, moby, etc. Than he goes and makes a song like "Sing For The Moment". Sort of like Christina Aguilera going from Dirty to, well, whatever that song was. You know.
Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2003 Anyone else care to point out the hypocrisy in how Eminem insults EVERYONE in his videos, yet gets pissy about one person doing it to him?
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Report post Posted June 20, 2003 Eminem can't feud with Weird Al. He should know there's a fair chance of Al beating him, he is in the business of mockery, after all. And if he lost to Weird Al, he'd never be the same.
Guest cartman Report post Posted June 20, 2003 Tisk Tisk... It seems there are STILL people out there that do not understand Eminem yet. Let me help you, Ok kiddies? Eminem is a long running GAG. He makes fun of people and says outlandish things to sell records. With exception maybe of Ja Rule, Benzino, Cannibus, and Everlast(All but the latter who suck anyways) the people he makes fun of and rips apart know that it's all just a joke. He is the world's greatest gimmick performer. His gimmick is to trash people, like celebrities and other music industry people, and make people laugh at his songs. If you dont laugh at his songs, and take them seriously, they YOU have the problem, Not Mr. Mathers. Keep that in mind, k? If you actually listen to his music, and listen to ALL of his songs, he tells you exactly what I told you. How can you not get it yet? Do you not see that he is no different from any other common man out there? He's a father, who isnt afraid of showing his love for his daughter, while dealing with relationship issues with his on-again off-again wife. Just listen to the songs closer and you will understand the man a bit better. Oh and I know your gonna say "If he really ever cared about his wife he wouldn't make songs about killing her and whatever else. Maybe those songs were made out of his disgust in her at the time of those things happening to him. If he didn't love the woman he wouldnt have given a rats ass enough to say the things he said in those particular songs.
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Report post Posted June 20, 2003 I still look at him more as a battle rapper than anything else. What he does now isn't all that different from that. I don't follow Eminem in the news or keep up with his latest happenings or what have you, but if, as some of the comments here suggest, he flies off the handle when somebody misinterprets his gimmick, that's bad. It's the same kind of deal as in rap battles.
Guest ant_7000 Report post Posted June 20, 2003 I don't know why Eminem consists on doing his own production on his albums, his beats are so predictable. No wonder he didn't charged Nas that beat for "The Cross" because that beat was garbage. Cartman your saying Canibus suck? and Everlast is good? Canibus imo could beat Em in a battle if he tried to. Canibus didn't want any part of Em at the Rapolympics when both of them were still coming up, although Canibus is still a sick battle rapper. Em is very misunderstood. Cartman said it best a couple of posts ago. Shit, even Elton John gets Eminem.
Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2003 I know it's a big joke, doesn't make it funny nor does it make it any good. Just because someone admits that they suck doesn't mean that they don't. I still don't think that argument holds up anyways since he tries to cash in on making songs that are serious, and therefore has no credibility. So many songs to attract the angst-filled child in all of us. Besides, if it was all a big joke, than why does he give a shit if Weird Al makes fun of him? Wouldn't he be IN on the gag? I love how whenever I tell that to a fan of Eminem they either draw a blank, or give the insightful response of "WEIRD AL SUCKS! EMINEM IS WICKED!" Sure he does, but aren't they essentially the same thing? A gimmick performer?? I get Eminem, he's a money whore, and an attention whore. Good for him. Just because he admits it doesn't make it cutting satire or anything. I'll stick to real artists like Mos Def and Talib Kweli, thank you very much. *Patiently awaits the release of the next Mos Def album, and the FIRST Blackjack Johnson album*. Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted June 21, 2003 Hey, you get Em and you don't like what he's about, to each his own. I get Em and think he's entertaining and a sick MC. I didn't know he had flack with Weird Al. Oh well, I like Weird Al and heard the song he parodied. It's weird that Al didn't mock Em in the song, he just took the beat and flow and made a song about watching TV and shit. Em is a guy who dishes it out, but can't take it, but oh well. If he was a wack ass rapper, I'd probrably hate him. But he can flow like few others and actually is a skilled rapper, so I do give him a pass in some situations. Guest INXS Report post Posted June 21, 2003 If you guys don't watch AL-TV for Eminem skit, then at least watch it for him exposing Avril Lavigne for being the dumbass she is.
Guest The Metal Maniac Report post Posted June 21, 2003 What'd he do about Avril? The same interview bit (piecing together old interviews and stuff) or did he just make fun of one of her videos, or what? I wanna see this show now, mainly because I can remember watching all the other Al-TV shows on Much Music years ago, and I think it'd be interesting to see what he's doing these days with 'em... Guest INXS Report post Posted June 21, 2003 Yeah, same interview segments. Lets just say there is a reason why MTV doesn't show Miss. Avril talking more then 6 word sentences. Oh, and he makes fun of her Canadian accent and the way she said David Bowie. That's "aboot" all I can say.

Let me guess you're the type that hates anything that goes platinum to make your self seem better than other music fans. Wrong. Ask me and I can give you countless artists whom I love that have gone platinum many times over. Let me guess, you're the type of guy who throws a fit when someone else has a taste that they're not familiar with, and rather than come up with an argument you point out that they hate stuff that's popular. Not like you've shown otherwise. I think Eminem's a smart guy. After all, he releases the poppy, shitty single first for all the kids to buy, than bombards them with all sorts of crazy-ass violent shit. Even he admits that the songs suck. I respect that about him at least. But like I said, just because he admits that he sucks doesn't make him suck any less.
