Who wants to see Randy Orton pushed down our...

I don't get it... First Brock Lesnar and now Orton!?

The fans don't give a shit about Orton; you could hear crickets chirping as he walks to the ring. The fans don't care about his ring work nor do they respond to him. From what I've observed, Orton can't establish a connection with the audience. So,......... he's getting the God push.

right........

The fans are very receptive to guys like RVD, Jericho, Christian, Booker T, Benoit (specifically RR 03) but WWE tries to ignore the fans' responses towards the aforementioned wrestlers. Why???? Instead of capitalizing on RVD's momentum (Fall 01), for instance, they repress him into midcard hell. Why?

For some reason, WWE got it through their heads that when people said they wanted new people pushed they were talking about totally new guys. They didn't understand we meant people like Booker T, Jericho, and Benoit. They skipped over a generation of wrestlers for pushes and now are giving them to young green guys.

RVD gets repressed because he is not WWE grown! Same for Booker, Benoit, and Jericho. Christian isn't as big as they'd like.

Will the WWE make us suffer thru an Ortan 3 week feud against Foley and then with HBK? How soon will Ortan get a belt of his own be it IC or tag?

I like Orton's push right now. I think it's way too early to judge if it is the right move, it just started. You can't judge his ability to connect with an audience based on a couple of short matches and one (pretty good) promo last monday. Let's wait and see for a while.

I agree about the other guys, but complaining about them not getting a push gets kinda old. At least they try to establish a new guy on RAW for a change.

I don't really have a problem with it. Though I can see a lot of people having a problem with it when that Orton/RVD feud comes around. I don't see it hurting anybody, and Orton does have some potential to be capitalized on.. maybe I've just lost all hope for guys like RVD, Booker T and Jericho and that's why I find the bitching about Orton's elevation to be a lil bit odd.

Which is precisely why a push shouldn't even be considered right now.

If Orton's push from hhhell starts at the top where does he go from there? After Orton goes over Kliq friendly opponets (Foley, HBK, Jericho) who is next..........Test maybe over the Woman named Stacy?

Why not? If it doesn't work out, they can always scale the push back again. At least they're trying to make a new star. I think he'll be fine. If the WWE really WANT a guy to be a superstar they can do it. Just look at Brock. He wasn't over at all when his megapush started.

That is so true and so tragic at the same time. Look at how many superstars they've made in the last four years. Three. Cripple H, Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar. And the last two aren't as over as they could be for all the reasons we know about. But even if they were, three superstars over the last four years is absolutely pathetic for a company like WWE.

Natural Charisma plays a part in being a superstar, but quite a bit of it is company presentation. Fans reactions are based on how the company presents you.

HHH is the perfect example. Not the most charismatic guy on the roster, they pushed him hard and properly and look what happened. Now contrast that with how Goldberg, who has more natural charisma than HHH, and you see company presentation is everything.

Thank God their not giving Christian a mega push- he's just awful.

I don't get this Orton push either. He's too injury prone and too much of a horrible wrestler

I don't see Jericho getting a "push" in the sense of the word again.

They've screwed it up quite a bit by giving him that big undisputed run and harping on about it. It doesn't seem so special if the guy already reached the top of the mountain (albeit with little fanfare)

All I want is for the people who dislike Orton to not be 'pushed down our throats'.

Restating your position 5,000 times doesn't make it more right fellas. It's your opinion.

So they push rookies who aren't over instead of the guys who are over, have experience and would be a breath of fresh air in the main event scene?

...

Makes sense.

Why are we worried? We know he'll just break something performing a simple move....AGAIN.

The main thing I can't stand about Orton is his use of the diamond cutter (or emerald cutter, as I've seen it called). Can't anybody come up with an original move nowadays?

Well at least it's only Randy Orton getting shoved down our throats, instead of both Orton & Batista like they were before they got injured. Though whenever Batista comes back i'm sure his god push will resume as well.

Am I the only person who wants to see him pushed hard?

I'd rather have Orton on my TV than see Nash, Steiner, Test, Kane, Triple H, or Booker T.

See, I would be pretty upset if Orton was on Smackdown, but he's not. Really, there is only a select few on Raw who, in my opinion, deserve a push based on ability, overness, or both. While Orton isn't one of them, he is higher on the list than alot of the main eventers right now. I'm sick of the main event situation on Raw, so I guess Orton will be a breath of fresh air. Not my number 1 pick, but far from the bottom of the list. Maybe I'm more accepting than others because of his HOTNESS, though. Hm, imagine that.

Might as well push him. If he stays healthy (and that seems like a big "if" already), I think he can be a big-time player within 2-3 years.

Look, the fact is they need to start building up another generation of top-shelf guys. The top tier from the Attitude era is on its last legs. Of course, any time you talk about who should be pushed, you are going to inevitably have someone come on here and start spewing the usual rhetoric about Benoit, et. al... But honestly, Benoit is not a guy WWE is going to build their company around. Sorry, deal with it. He'll probably get a title reign or two, but the guys like him, Van Dam and Booker T. and to some extent, Jericho, got caught as "slightly below" the top tier guys of the Attitude era. Now, they're in limbo: Clearly established below the guys running amok atop the card now and above the new class. But- they are not SO FAR above the new class that doing the job for them will result in a major rub.

So what to do? Believe it or not, you do exactly what they are doing right now (well, some aspects). You take the guys like Lesnar, Haas, Benjamin, Orton, Dupree and the rest of the new guys and you start grooming them. Meanwhile, you try to get the last vestiges of marketability out of your current top guys. It starts to get ugly (like it is now), but thats life in a transition phase.

You might not think it is a good idea to see Randy Orton pushed to the moon right now. But keep this is mind: How many people were saying in early 1997 that The Rock would become what he is now or that three years from that point, HHH would be in the middle of the hottest heel WWF championship run in years?

It all has to start somewhere.

WWF dealt with this before and it was rocky post Hogan pre Austin...

We're in the Post Attitude "DEAD" era right now which is worse then the New Generation era because that looked like they were pushing new guys...Here is't HHH and HHH only...

Jericho, Benoit, Booker and Angle all came too late or too early rather and can't have the company built on them but can play the Shawn/Bret "holding freeze" role while Lesnar becomes the star he is supposed to be...

Why all the Orton hate? He has suffered through some bad luck injuries, but he isn't a "bad" talent. He has alot more promise then some of the new guys they have. Hell, he's got more promise then Booker, Christian, or Test and they've been around for years. He'l be the "Next Big Thing" before Brock.

First off I am not a gimmick. I am a fan who likes what I like. Second, the only reason that Brock is where he is, is because he was shoved down our throats. But he can't really work a match. Orton will become a major player because he has the skills and not just because he's huge.
