Guest benoitrulz4life Posted June 22, 2003 Report Posted June 22, 2003 It's been narrowed down to the final four, now. If AoO would have voted on all the matchups than just two, then Slayer would have tied Metallica, but as it stands, Metallica moves on to face Black Sabbath. Led Zeppelin vs. AC/DC Black Sabbath vs. Metallica
Guest caboose Posted June 22, 2003 Report Posted June 22, 2003 Led Zeppelin Metallica That second one was a tough choice but I simply like more Metallica than Black Sabbath so Metallica get the nod.
Guest gangsteruwa Posted June 22, 2003 Report Posted June 22, 2003 Led Zeppelin Black Sabbath Do all best of metal/hard rock things always come down to Zeppelin vs. Sabbath?
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted June 22, 2003 Report Posted June 22, 2003 If AoO would have voted on all the matchups than just two, then Slayer would have tied Metallica, but as it stands, Metallica moves on to face Black Sabbath. ...How does that work? I voted Sabbath and Slayer, who was facing Metallica. Recount.

Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted June 22, 2003 Report Posted June 22, 2003 Led Zeppelin vs. AC/DC Black Sabbath vs. Metallica
Guest cabbageboy Posted June 22, 2003 Report Posted June 22, 2003 I'll go with Zeppelin and Sabbath. AC/DC is a band I loathe with a passion, while Metallica has put out iffy albums for the past decade.
Guest godthedog Posted June 22, 2003 Report Posted June 22, 2003 Led Zeppelin Black Sabbath Do all best of metal/hard rock things always come down to Zeppelin vs. Sabbath? this would imply that VH1's metal list is one of the best, since their top 2 were zeppelin and sabbath. so, in response to your question, i'd have to say no. oh yeah... zeppelin sabbath
Guest ZGangsta Posted June 22, 2003 Report Posted June 22, 2003 ...How does that work? I voted Sabbath and Slayer, who was facing Metallica. He stated in the first round that you had to vote for the whole field, not just the bands you cared about or your votes wouldn't count. Led Zeppelin Black Sabbath
Guest benoitrulz4life Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 I've been at work so thanks for covering my ass Z Gangsta. So, yeah, if you would have voted on the other two matchups, Slayer would have tied Metallica with ten votes a piece. That was probably a good thing though because I never thought twice about a tie breaker.
Guest DrTom Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 Led Zeppelin Black Sabbath If that ends up being the final, I have NO idea how I'll choose between them.
Guest DARRYLXWF Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 ac/dc Black Sabbath Zeppelin a probably a better band in general, but seeing as this IS a hard rock/metal tourny, AC/DC gets the nod. And though I listen to more Metallica than Sabbath, it IS Black Sabbath we're talking about.
Guest Memphis Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 Led Zeppelin owns each and every band in this tournament. And they're not even a heavy metal band. Anyways, AC/DC (Due to Zep not actually being heavy metal) Metallica Metal M
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 I vote for Sabbath and Slayer. (zeppelin and sabbath, for your technical rules of gheyness) Now, if Metallica beats Sabbath because you plebians vote that way, I'll systematically work my way through all posters, cutting off fingers and ripping faces as I go, who vote for fucking metallica over the band that created the single greatest album in the history of rock music. Black Sabbath fucking invented heavy metal, and set a standard that not only transcends genres, but has yet to be matched by any band they influenced. Iommi and Geezer wrote better riffs, and Lars WISHES he was as good as Bill Ward. Ozzy in his early days could howl, and had a voice that fit the music like a glove. This is pretty evident if you've ever heard the non-ozzy Sabbath material, (which was still better than Metallica). The first six albums were beyond compare, though. Metallica exhausted their creative trickle after 4, depending on who you ask.
Guest Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 Led Zepplin VS AC/DC I vote Goatwhore. Black Sabbath VS Metallica I vote Darkthrone. bah.....AC/DC and Sabbath.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 GOATWHORE~! credit sing365.com A drunken strip joint insult provided the band its name. "Me and a couple friends were checking the chicks out and drinking, having a good time," [guitarist] Duet recalls. "And this chick came out and her face was all weird looking, and she was doing her thing and wanted a dollar and my friend, he's a really rude type of guy, just screams, 'Get the hell away from me you Goatwhore.' And I thought, 'well, that's the name of the band.' " How can you not love it? Plus Sammy Duet was in Acid Bath. Cannot go wrong.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 I voted Sabbath over Metallica for two very, VERY simple reasons: ReLoad and St. Anger
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 Not the fact that Sabbath recorded better stuff and pioneered the sound ten years prior to metallica even forming?
Guest justsoyouknow Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 The sheer audacity of you people voting for Led Fucking Zeppelin over AC/DC apalls me. Angus Young > Jimmy Page, in my book, at least. AC/DC Sabbath
