A move that a wrestler does...

Recommended Posts

Guest Monday Night Jericho

Basically the idea is to name a move that a wrestler does better than any other wrestler. For example:

Benoit - powerbomb

Liger - SSP

Roundhouse to face (gamengiri) - Kawada

Burning hammer - Kobashi

Ric Flair - Figure four

Sorry but the Destoryer used the Figure Four way better than Flair. When the Destoryer slapped on the Figure Four, the match was over in a heart beat, when Flair did it was rest time(at least in his later matches).

2 Cold Scorpio - moonsault

As much as I hate him, Keji Mutoh probably had the best Moonsault. He would really snap back, and come down HARD, no wonder the guy's crippled.

lariat: stan hansen

With the excpetion of maybe the Destroyer's Figure Four, the Western Lariat was probably the most protected and over finisher in All Japan.

Still, I swear Jumbo threw the stiffest Lariat out of anybody, even more brutal than Hansen's.

SSP: Paul London, definently.

Punch: Chuck Plaumbo, I'm serious, He throws a great punch.

Shining Wizard: CM Punk. I haven't seen Mutoh's yet, but from what I've seen he's got the best.

You've obviously never seen the beauty of Dr. Death Steve Williams right-hand jabs if you think Billy Gunn has the best punches.

Dynamite Kid's snap suplex > Chris Benoit's snap suplex, though not by much these days.

RVD sells DDT's and Piledrivers better and anyone.

Splash - Vader

Powerslam (tie) - Davey Boy Smith/Ted DiBiase/Dr. Death

Belly-to-Belly - Magnum T.A.

Nip Up-Dynamite Kid

Belly to Belly Suplex off ropes: Owen Hart

Snap Suplex-Depends on the day. Sometimes it's Dynamite, sometimes its Benoit

Moonsault-Tough to say. I'd go with Scorpio, Toyota, Angle, Kobashi or Muta

Powerbomb-Benoit. Check out Benoit and Eddy's first Nitro match for the best powerbomb ever.

Small Package Barry Whindam or Edge

You're contradicting your own criteria. You claim that the Destroyer's Figure Four was better than Flair's because it was booked better, yet you claim that Jumbo's lariat is better than Hansen's because it looks clearer. Which one is it, overness or attractiveness?

Speaking of which; Akira Taue - Chokeslam

Nick Gage gives the stiffest running bootscrape ever. Ohtani may have done it first, but Gage just fucking TAGS the guy with it. He even does it through glass sometimes.

Ric Flair's figure 4 is TERRIBLE.

I hate it so much because he always puts it on the wrong leg. It is Ric's only MAJOR flaw in my eyes because the psychology is there until he places the figure four on the wrong leg and makes a picky little smark like me think he's crap....... no wonder he never wins with it.

Rock's sharpshooter > Bret Hart's :D

Mr Perfect running Snapmare move that he does when the opponet is sitting and then runs from behind and flips to do the move.

I never liked the running powerslam finisher ever.

When done correctly a Figure Four pretty much looks the same, so it's kind of hard to add a unique style too it while still keeping it a real Figure Four so you have to use a different criteria. Because of the lack of varitey, the Figure Four really isn't even a good move for this type of topic.

Still, Flair never did it correctly(wrong leg), so Destroyer still beats him in that category.

Oh, and I like how you use booking as an excuse for Flair's laziness rather than simply stating that the Destroyer used the Figure Four better and cared more about it's cred.

You will also notice that I didn't challenge the Hansen pick, but simply stated Jumbo's was nastier looking IMO.

And when Taue didn't hold back, his Nodowa could be quite brutal. Have you ever seen the 95 Champion Carnival when he nearly dumped Kawada on his head with one, or nearly drove Kobashi threw the ring with it? Or even 6/95 when he busts out an Americanized Chokeslam at the end and gets big air with it.

Still Vadar had the best the Nodowa Otoshi I've ever seen.

I always dug Vader's moonsault, not the best, but possibly the most impressive due to his size.

Moonsault I'd give to Mutoh. But close.

Sharpshooter - definetely Bret Hart

Ace Crusher/Diamond Cutter/Stunner - all those variations I still like DDP's the best. He hits it out of nowhere and you know either the match is over or we have a close near fall.

Power walking - Kevin Nash

Headbutt - Andre the Giant. Maybe not the stiffest or prettiest but it was ALWAYS sold as instant death. Everyone from Hogan down would go down from one headbutt. Booking I know but still impressive.

Might as well say it...

Hogan - Leg Drop
