I am a Horror Film Buff and I enjoy ZOMMMMBIE Flims, BUT i'm not sold on it yet.

 

I was only planning on seeing Full Throttle, but I keep seeing the TV Spots for this movie.

 

I don't know much about Danny Boyle. I've never seen Trainspotting, and I HATED The Beach.

 

Anyway, sell me on it.

NBT, just download it. I just did the other day, but am yet to watch anything past the first 5 minutes. I feared it would be a mislabeled film and I'd wind up with Sandra Bullock's "28 Days", but I did get the real deal. Check it out that way.

Essentially, it is just another version of I Am Legend (the novel that The Omega Man was based on). But it's a more zombie-oriented version, whereas Omega has them as a highly structured order of freaks. Basically, think Omega Man means Dawn Of The Dead. That's the gist I get from it, anyways.

 

Sell you on it? It's the first zombie movie to be marketed as a ZOMBIE MOVIE in nearly a decade and a half. Go see it, fucky.

if it has to compete with the charlie's angels sequel for your attention, you don't deserve to see anything by danny boyle. therefore, i will tell you that it sucks anyway and isn't worth your time.

If you want really good Danny Boyle, rent "Shallow Grave" and you will be sold. If you still need a bit more convincing, rent "Trainspotting' but SHallow Grave should be enough

I liked The Beach

 

Go see 28DL, its a truely different and imaginative film where a character doesnt resort to ripping out a gun.

 

Plus i know the main guy in it

 

and Chris Eccleston is in it

just because a zombie movie is a zombie movie doesn't mean a zombie movie fan will love it, like it, even tolerate it. I saw this movie called "The Dead Rise" or something, and it sucked SO BAD.

 

Anywho, it may be the poor screen quality, but 28 Days Later bored me. I'll give it a look see on DVD, maybe off Netflix, but I can't sell you on something I have very little interest in myself

Beach WAS a good flick. I've not seen, really, a lot of hate expressed for the movie. I think some people were just disappointed.

 

Personally, I liked the film. I thought Leo did a good job (no small feat for me to think this, as I'm not his biggest fan). And the film fortunately had good source material, as Alex Garland's (who wrote this screenplay) novel, "The Beach", is pretty damn solid.

 

Whomever ever said that these are not "true" zombies - yes, that's correct. The "zombies" in the film are humans infected with the disease "Rage" who have become post-human savages who wish to only kill or consume the non-infected.

The film starts really well, but the ending is quite poor. When hes walking around London on his own is a classic scene. The film has an excellent original storyline but the ending ruined it. Watch it for the first half at least

Exactly what I was thinking. I enjoyed the movie. I am one to see very few horror movies. I wasn't sure going in, but I went with a big group of friends. I enjoyed it. It was different and pretty good. The ending will kinda just leave you hanging though. Everyone in the theater pretty much had a "What the hell?" reaction when it ended.

I thought the ending was great. Me and my friend Petone, who are pretty much the experts in our town on zombie films, agree that 28 Days Later not only is perhaps the greatest mainstream horror film in a LONG time (beats the fuck out of The Ring, believe me), but it's also a somewhat modernized version of Dawn Of The Dead and Day Of The Dead. The ending especially reminds me of Day Of The Dead.

I thought it was a FINE film. The build for the main character and his actions in the end are superb and not overly-done. It has a realistic grit to it all the way around. Hell, it's not even a horror movie as far as I'm concerned. It's a study in human nature. And a good one at that.

 

Go see it.

 

Just make sure you're in a theater with people who don't have to be told what to like and dislike. I had to see it with retarded middle-schoolers in grown-up bodies. I wanted to kill.

The trailer I saw in the theater didn't really do it for me. I'll wait unitl it comes out on video.. and even then I might not watch it. I am just not into the cinematography I saw on the trailer.

My friends and I all left the theatre shaking our heads, saying, "That was fan-fucking-tastic!". This was, quite possibly, the best film to come out so far this year. There were parts of the movie, that, thinking back on on the ride home, gave me goosebumps. It wasn't a straight-up zombie movie, either, it was, as already mentioned, an examination of human nature. And a great one at that. I whole heartedly reccomend seeing this film, stat.

The soundtrack is awesome. The first 15 minutes offers a slow-build background track that just explodes towards the end. I wish I knew who that was.

 

The main character also bares an odd resemblence to Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin (notably from the "Yellow" video).

 

As far as Zombie flicks go, if you don't mind sitting through a couple of dead scences and some minor plot holes, I'd recommend it.
