Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted June 24, 2003 THE FOLLOWING IS NOT STRONGLY CONFIRMED YET AS NEWS So TAKE THESE TIDBITS AS A GRAIN OF SALT! It came to light in a recent interview with Jim Ross that Paul Heyman has been rehabbing some sort of neck injury as of late. Very few in WWE do not enjoy his TV work, and Ross noted that Heyman is expected to be back on TV very soon. We've heard so many rumors regarding a Heyman return to feud with the Angle/Lesnar friendship, which leaves several possibilities open for who he could manage - including Big Show, Benjamain/Haas, and countless others. Right now, however, it's not even known if he will be a manager again when he returns to TV, but the time period set for a possible Heyman return is quite broad - tomorrow through August - based on JR's words. Shane McMahon was watching RAW last night in the crowd with a baseball cap covering his face. He is expected to stick around for tonight's SmackDown! tapings. Former ECW valet Beulah McGuillicuty was watching some of RAW last night from the crowd. For those who do not know, she is tied up with Tommy Deamer in real life. The two traveled all weekend long with their two pet bulldogs to WWE house shows and again last night at RAW. Tickets for WrestleMania XX will go on sale Saturday, September 27 at the Madison Square Garden Box Office and Ticketmaster. Check back at WWE.com or WrestleMania.com for ticket information as it becomes available. The backstage feeling within the company was that the entire Kane angle on RAW last night played out fairly well. We'll just have to wait and see where it goes from here. Many backstage called Goldberg a baby for the way he handled the pro-Jericho fan at Bad Blood. Seeing that he totally broke character over one fan who did not like him, it was certainly not a very "face" type of action. Goldberg also reportedly keeps to himself backstage and shows little effort of trying to fit in. - Christian has been impressing management as a heel on the road and is getting tremendous heat. Christian has really been proving himself since his renewed push, which tends to explain even further why WWE is in no rush to have him drop the IC title. WWE has sent Chris Jericho on the road for house shows to do his "Highlight Reel" segment at the events. This is an attempt by WWE to increase house show business, and the feedback is said to be pretty good overall. Even when Jericho failed to appear at the event here in Albany this past Sunday night due to prior engagements with the MuchMusic Canada awards, WWE brought back the "Peep Show" with Christian for one-night only. Feedback thus far on random internet websites over the Kane unmasking is not positive at all. Some bring up points such as Kane being masked twice before, and even though we didn't see his face, the mask came all the way off but his hair didn't, much the opposite of last night. Many ask the obvious question, how is anyone going to take Kane serious now with this new look? That's up to the WWE creative, but as far as the fans are concerned, the masses seem very much against Kane's new look. Kurt Angle continues to be seen as a saint in the WWE locker room. Angle has yet to show any signs of being sore or complaining after matches since returning from his broken neck injury. People close to Angle say he isn't the type to draw pity from the locker room by over-selling his soreness after he gets behind the curtains. Next month Roddy Piper is going to be doing a Piper's Pit in Calgary (it is a live event). And his guest will be Vince McMahon! And Piper has been doing promos for it and he has been saying some of the questions for Vince will be "Have you ever double crossed somebody? Or have you ever been punched in the face by a wrestler...Piper says he has permission to ask any question he wants. WWE.com has unveiled the new website for WWE WrestleMania XX. Currently there are photos from WWE WrestleMania 1 and 10 which both took place at MSG. Also, they take a look at Tito Santana who competed on the pay-per-views from WWE WrestleManias I-VIII and then in the dark match at WWE WrestleMania IX. Vince McMahon and Roddy Piper were both interviewed for HBO's "Real Sports" segment which will air tonight. It will detail deaths in wrestling and from what we have been told, Piper said some unexpected and controversial things that may make some min WWE a tab bit unhappy. Vince McMahon was said to have not liked the way his interview went. Hopefully HBO will tell two sides to each story and not put all the blame on WWE for deaths in pro wrestling. It airs tonight at 10pm est. Thanks to Tomyfellaz for sending the following: I just heard Stacy Keibler's appearance on local radio station Hot 97 FM here in NYC. She was promoting WWE Diva Search on WWE.com and WWE Raw on TNN. The host, Sway, asked her some Howard Stern-ish questions, such as what female rap entertainer she would switch teams with and she replied Lil Kim. She also said she is very good at "her oral skills". Thanks to Morgan Harper for sending the following: Torrie Wilson is on the cover of this month's (August 2003) Musclemag International. There's a short article (w/ pictures) on her and she's in the swimsuit feature too. There is also mention of Trish Stratus and a picture of the WWE Best of 2002 magazine featuring both Trish and Brock. There will also be a poster of Torrie included in next month's issue. Zach Gowen is featured in today's USA Today. The peice is written by former WCW Magazine writer Ross Foreman. The articles talks about how Gowen worked with Doug Basham. "If I had two legs, I wouldn't have been hired," Gowen says. "The fact that I have one leg and can actually work, that's the reason I got hired." NWA-TNA announcer Mike Tenay also contributed to the story, giving NWA-TNA some much needed publicity. "I've never seen anyone like Zach, because there's never been anyone like Zach," Tenay says. "When WWE fans see Zach execute one-legged moonsaults... their jaws are going to drop." After the Foley segment in ring along with Austin and the ECW clan, they all began pounding beers. Dreamer doing his usual smashing them on his head and the rest of them taking turns on ring ropes downing the cans. They each had several Miller Lites. Once they got back it was apparent that the workers were concerned about the condition of the ring. They came down to wipe the ring down with a towel and the next several refs warned the participants about it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted June 24, 2003 The sooner Heyman's back the better, so he can help make Haas, Benjamin and Show 'more of a threat'. I think the Kane angle was decent enough, except for the fact it doesn't lead to much. If it leads to Kane trying to re-find himself, Van Dam trying to help him out and Kane vs HHH at Summerslam, then it kinda defeats the point of the whole thing. If it was me, I would have been mad at the fans just like Goldberg. I mean if it was you and the fans were trying to ruin your career by going against your character, you'd be pissed too wouldn't you? He's no in-ring general, but Christian is one of my favourite wrestlers, more on personality than anything. But then again I don't care that his move set is more limited than a Guerrero or a Benoit, because he makes me laugh. The Highlight Reel is just what Raw needs as a whole. People wouldn't have been happy however Kane looked. Angle is a great guy obviously, and deserves everything good he gets. And I can't wait to see Vince's face (in character and out) when Piper starts with those questions. If it's a Smackdown or Raw of course. That will be priceless Gowen rules but it's obvious the WWE is using him. I hate how he's being made to look just another crippled kid, when basically he's an awesome wrestler. Guest The Old Me Report post Posted June 24, 2003 People wouldn't have been happy however Kane looked. Very accurate. No matter how the angle is portrayed, someone on the board and many in the IWC will not like it. Of course many of these people are complaining about how God is "booking" the end of the world too, so take it with a grain.

I mean if it was you and the fans were trying to ruin your career by going against your character, you'd be pissed too wouldn't you? The fans weren't trying to ruin his career, they were simply cheering for their favorite wrestler. It's not the fans fault Goldberg isn't over as a major face. They paid for their tickets, they can cheer and boo whoever the hell they want to. It's alright to be upset that you're not getting the reaction you expected, but you can't break character and get into a fan's face like that.

Hell wasn't it Goldberg himself who said because the fans paid for the tickets to enjoy the show they had the right to cheer or Boo whomever they like??? And SINCE when do fans Ruin someones career... thats oversensitive Goldberg apologetic Mark talk. Poor Goldberg such a emotional cripple he couldn't hack it having Jericho fans cheer Chris while booing Pooooor wittle Bill..

Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted June 24, 2003 - Christian has been impressing management as a heel on the road and is getting tremendous heat. Christian has really been proving himself since his renewed push, which tends to explain even further why WWE is in no rush to have him drop the IC title. How soon before he actually, you know, WINS A MATCH? Sure, technically, he won last night, but the focus of the tag match was the Test/Steiner feud, with Book & Christian playing 2nd fiddle. Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted June 24, 2003 I would've been happy....had he you know....actually had hair. That was just stupid and poor booking. I mean how fucking lazy was that? "Ummm....he had hair every other time he was unmasked....but now he doesn't......."
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted June 24, 2003 I liked the old angle they were thinking of going when Kane was going to turn heel on UT. Have him remove the mask to reveal that he's normal. Then he can say that he was just someone that hated the Undertaker and set out to ruin his life.

"The Best Damn Sports Show Period" is a nationally-aired show on regional Fox Sports stations with Tom Arnold and some other people. I've never seen it. Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted June 25, 2003 Ok for those concerned about sources just in that the most of the news bits I just put up earlier today is confirmed by Wrestling observer and Torch Anyway more Tiddybits # The original plan of Vince McMahon vs. Mr. America at Summer Slam may now be changed to McMahon taking on Zach Gowen. This would be Gowen's first televised WWE match. # WWE officials are said to be very high on Randy Orton, as was evident by his involvement on last night's RAW. They apparently see him as a future Rock-level superstar due to his athleticism and charisma. # Lita's autobiography is tentatively scheduled for a September 16th release, and Steve Austin's is set for an October 21st release. (Thanks to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter) # he decision was made prior to the 6/5 Smackdown that if Rey Mysterio was unable to compete due to his groin injury, that Ultimo Dragon would debut on the show and immediately be put over for the Cruiserweight Title. This obviously motivated Mysterio to work the match, because he would be losing his opportunity to win the belt. # Next year's Summer Slam will take place at the SkyDome in Toronto. # Mark Jindrak was told all week that he would be debuting on the 6/16 RAW as the fourth member of Evolution, but it was postponed for some reason. # A Brock Lesnar DVD is scheduled to be released on August 12th. (Thanks to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter) The following is from WWE.com: RVD is preparing to open his own comics store, called RVD’s Five-Star Comics, in the Lakewood Mall in Long Beach, CA, near that city’s airport. RVD recently signed the lease on the store and is shooting for an opening in either the first or third week of July. “I won’t be responsible for a lot of the day-to-day operation. I can’t—I live on the road. I live in the air,” RVD said Monday before RAW. “But I’m a huge comic book fan. I’m not just lending my name to it—it’s my store.” Aside from comics, RVD says the store will also be selling unique collectibles, namely authentic, autographed ring-worn paraphernalia from himself and some of his friends. “Whatever I can do to get people excited about the place,” he said. The one thing he’ll never get rid of is his personal museum dedicated to his favorite comic-book character, Ghost Rider. “I probably have the only Ghost Rider museum in my house,” he said. “I have everything that I know of with Ghost Rider on it. If I find something I don’t have, I buy it. Any collectible item involving Ghost Rider. That’s my main thing. But in a month I probably pick up 25 different comic titles. I read them all the time.” [ Return To Main ] The following is from WWE.com: Hours before Mick Foley bathed in the adulation of his most rabid fans at Madison Square Garden in a Hardcore Legend Ceremony, Foley spoke of his somewhat unexpected latest run at the World’s Most Famous Sports Arena. “This is definitely exciting, especially since it’s something I really hadn’t bargained for when it was agreed upon that I’d come in and referee the Hell in a Cell match [at Bad Blood],” Foley said. “Of course before the pay-per-view I had to be at the Miami RAW, and I had such a great time that when it was offered to show up the day after the pay-per-view, in Dallas, that I gladly jumped on it. I don’t know if I asked to be at the Garden or if it was generally agreed upon, but it will be my last show for a while. It won’t be another 19 months—I’ll make sure of that.” The latest installment of Foley’s Garden Party was the Hardcore Legend Ceremony, where Mick was presented with a honorary Hardcore Championship belt, encased in a glass frame. He was joined by fellow hardcore guys Stone Cold Steve Austin, Tommy Dreamer, the Dudley Boyz, Rob Van Dam and Al Snow, and treated to an emotional video montage of his legendary career. And later, just to really feel at home, Foley engaged in a nasty backstage brawl with brash Evolution member Randy Orton. It was a homecoming, Foley said, that he at one point doubted would ever come to pass. “After 19 months away, there was a part of me that thought that maybe this was a great part of my life that was completely done with,” he said. “I think you can go home again, and I’m enjoying every second of it. I really feel without sounding overly corny that I’ve really come home again. Not just MSG, but WWE as well,” Foley said. “It’s been made very clear to me that I’m welcome back anytime, so I’m going to take advantage of that.”
