People that cry during movies

Recommended Posts

Guest ShamRock

I admit. I cry during movies. To be more specific,The Deer Hunter and Men of Honor. After telling that to my friends, they broke out in laughter. I don't understand that. I mean, why? Should people be made fun of because they cry during movies? It's the other fucks that should be for having no emotions.

Do you cry during movies and how do other people feel about.

Sorry if it's not comprehensable.

If a movie doesn't make you laugh or cry or get goosebumps or jump or whatever, then what's the point of watching it?

The same guys that are scared to cry at a movie are probably the same guys that sit one seat apart at the theater so nobody will get the impression that they're gay. I think if you do that you're the gayest people on Earth. At Hulk I actually saw two guys come in and sit TWO seats apart and then sit there and yell back and forth at each other. Grow the hell up.

Because...the only movies men are allowed to cry at are Brian's Song(original) and Old Yeller.

It's fine to cry during movies. Nothing is wrong with it. I'm guessing your friends are just huge homophobes.

El Satanico beat me to it. Usually I have to post that. Thank you, glad to see the wisdom of the ages is sinking in around here.

I get so emotionally involved when I watch a film, my emotions do whatever they feel to do. Fuck what anyone thinks, I watch film for the emotional roller coaster.

well, this partly depends on the context. there's a tactful way to bring it up, and a dumb way to bring it up. if your friends are talking about movies that are important to them and are really sad & shit, you're permitted to say "yeah, that one made me cry." but if you guys are all drinking beer together, talking about famous chicks you want to fuck and other manly-man things, and some guy starts talking about what a manly-man movie 'the deer hunter' is, you don't come out of the blue and say "dude, that movie made me cry." you just don't, or you will get made fun of.

movies i've cried at:

it's a wonderful life

magnolia

the green mile

the magnificent ambersons

the pianist

gangs of new york (teared up seeing that one shot near the end of all the candles in the street)

schindler's list

e.t.

I've cried while watching many a film, heh. The very first was a made for TV movie about two kids switched at birth, and I think one of them died and there was then a battle over who got the other kid, the real parents or those who raised the kid. I don't remember the name. I was very young when I saw this one, it was my first true emotional bond with a film I do believe.

I just have to throw out My Girl. I'd cry right now if I watched it, as it tears me up every time, and there's no way around it. Seeing Thomas J. in the casket with Vada beging so torn up, it is just so horrible to me. It's one of the saddest moments in all of film in my eyes.

I don't cry easily myself... I'll get emotional, but the only time I think I cried during a movie was Blow. It was pretty sad cause I had identified with the character most of the way through.

I do try to get scared as much as possible in movies. It's the same sort of deal... even if it's not that scary, I try to get in a frame of mind where it will be... it's more fun.

When I was a kid I cried when Godzilla died in Godzilla 1985...oh you mean recently.

I don't really cry when a movie gets to me. I get all misty eyed though. I don't usually have tears rolling down my face but I am all choked up. You can tell by looking at me that I'm crying but I don't do it where tears are streaming.

I cry during movies all the time, but the absolute worse was What Dreams May Come with Robin Williams. Ten minutes in and I was sobbing and continued to do so till the end. This happens every time I see it and I've seen it quite a few times.

I cried durring The Patriot. When Benjamin is walking away to go to war, and he's just about gone, his youngest daughter Susan (I think) called out "Daddy!" and ran to him. :(

I don't cry during movies. I'm not a 'Dood! Crying is gay for real!' guy, I guess I'm just not a cryer. If I think of any movies that came closest I'll post them tho

my dad also admits to crying at the end of The Long Gray Line

and I, too, am enjoying the G. Hood posts so far

thought of one

the movie that's come the closest off the top of my head was The Wild Bunch. The bunch, William Holden and Ernest Borgnine at least, were friggen awsm, and

Spoiler (Highlight to Read):

I kinda new they were going to try and get Angel back, but figured they'd do a guerilla (sp?) ambush kinda dealy. But when Holden said 'let's go' and they went out while the whole gang was there, I was like 'Oh shit'. Almost got me

I cried at the end of Donnie Darko, and usually will water up, but that's because the first time I saw the movie was right after I got news that a friend died. It was Gary Jules' cover of "Mad World" that actually got to me.

Only movies I've ever cried at, besides Donnie Darko (which doesn't count because it was an emotional day), were Terminator 2 and The Land Before Time. Hey, shut up, I was 7 and 4 (respectively) at the time!

when I was 6 years old, I think I cried during Benji the Hunted when a hawk/eagle/falcon swooped down and snatched up one of the mountain lion cubs.

Weird cause I am also one of those people that don't outright always bust out with laughter when I watch a comedy. My friends are always looking at me like, "don't you think this is funny" and I do, but I dunno what it is, I don't usually have outburts. It takes a lot......like seeing Clerks for the first time. That did it.
