Guest Askewniverse Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Matches that I'd like to see on the Flair DVD that haven't been mentioned yet: Flair vs. Savage (Flair wins his 2nd WWF title) Sting vs. Flair (title unification match) Flair vs. Pillman (WCW Saturday Night)
Guest godthedog Report post Posted June 27, 2003 i consider the 2/3 falls match & wrestlewar interchangeable, so i wouldn't mind just having the 2/3 falls match on it (also since i already have the trips dvd). but i REALLY want to see the windham draw from 87 worldwide. Guest razazteca Report post Posted June 27, 2003 I think the Flair DVD should have a bonus extra match featuring Arn & Tully vs Midnight Express tag match. Or have a 3rd disc that is 2 hours of nothing but Flair with the 4 Horsemen doing promos on The Mutha Ship Saturday Night.
Guest The Czech Republic Report post Posted June 27, 2003 I wonder if Vince just keeps all the tapes in his basement. That way, when he wants to watch the episode of WCW Saturday Night when Disco Inferno finally gets The Leg Hold, BOOM! It's right there at his fingertips. Guest Tony149 Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Whoever said WWE should make the Flair DVD 3 discs...HELL YEAH! Too bad it probably won't happen. But for all you HHHaters out there, you better hope HHH pulls some power play (being the Flair mark and wannbe that he is) and gets Vince to agree to a 3 discs DVD. Then again, Flair has done so much in his career, Vince could milk Flair DVDs for years. Flair has so many great promos it could fill up a whole DVD.
Guest subliminal_animal Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Yes. A Trish Stratus DVD before a Chris Benoit or Eddy Guerrero DVD. Keep it up, WWE. They put out what they feel will make money, not what they feel will make you happy.
Guest Lord of The Curry Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Who the fuck will buy a Trish Stratus DVD? Certainly not people who want to see good wrestling. The people who will buy the Trish DVD are the same who buy the Divas and Golden Thong Award bullshit. Basically a very small percentage of the WWE's target audience for DVD's.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Who would buy it? The WWE Auidence. Ya know...12-15 year old males...Key Demographic ya know. Not Whiny pathetic computer geeks...thats an EXTREMLY small population. Business wise Stratus DVD > Benoit DVD

The people who will buy the Trish DVD are the same who buy the Divas and Golden Thong Award bullshit. Basically a very small percentage of the WWE's target audience for DVD's. The problem isn't the content. It's how they're marketing the content they're pushing. The DVD's are even being marketed correctly to begin with. I wouldn't WANT to see what the WWE would do with the libraries of Benoit, Jericho and Guerrero.
Guest Lord of The Curry Report post Posted June 27, 2003 What will we see on the Trish DVD that we won't see on TV? Unless she is naked throughout it, this is totally worthless. She doesn't A) Have a career long or worthy enough to devote a DVD to. B) Have any matches worth adding to one's personal collection. C) Have any matches outside the federation or from an earlier era.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 27, 2003 The demo most likely to buy that DVD is the _female_ demographic, not the male. Like Curry said, what are they being offered in this DVD that they aren't already offered on Free TV? Trish in a Bikini? Who HASN'T seen that a billion times? And the Female Demo will be alienated by the abundant amount of sex the WWE will put in to try and get the male demo interested. Trish _is_ the most popular DIVA, so I can understand why they are trying to 'diversify' the portfolio of DVD's on sale, but shit, the Benoit DVD could be so fucking good. Guest bravesfan Report post Posted June 27, 2003 She's got one of the biggest followings in the WWE, in terms of heat and SALES. Get it? Divas posters, videos, magazines, etc. It isn't all about what the average 'Net geek wants, in terms of ***-**** matches as extras on DVD releases. I'm sure they'll satisfy their KEY demographic with this release. Like Curry said, what are they being offered in this DVD that they aren't already offered on Free TV? Trish in a Bikini? Who HASN'T seen that a billion times? Then why does Trish's merchandise, along with Stacy and Torrie's, sell so well? Why do WWE fans still give a shit about Torrie, even AFTER she posed nude? Why do WWE fans still give a shit about Rena Mero, even AFTER she posed nude? It's because they have a FOLLOWING.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Their KEY demographic that helped contribute to NOT paying for the Armageddon PPV which featured Torrie Wilson and Dawn Marie fucking? RRR: Who still see's "Sable: Unleashed" videos on store shelves.
Guest The Decadent Slacker Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Well, if Flair isn't 2 discs minimum, we should hold some sort of demonstration where we burn the McMahon family in efogy. Odds are, the matches on the Flair one will be ones where he goes over, like Hogan's & most of Michaels. but here's what i'd want anyway: Flair Vs Savage-WM8 or the title change where Flair goes over Flair Vs Bret-Ironman match (if possible, or the title change) Flair Vs Tsuruta-Japan (one can dream, can't they?) Flair Vs Steamboat-COTC '89 (availible nowhere else...well, on DVD) Flair Vs Perfect-RAW Career Match Entire Royal Rumble '92 Wargames '87, any other good one he was in Flair Vs Anderson-Fall Brawl '95 Flair Vs Michaels-'91-'92 Flair Vs Kerry Von Erich-early 80s Flair Vs Andre-VERY early 80s Flair Vs Buddy Rogers-late 70s? (battle for the "Nature Boy" name) Flair Vs Race-Starrcade '83 Flair Vs Vader-Starrcade '93 Flair Vs Rhodes-one where Flair goes over Flair Vs Luger-80s-early 90s, any that's just wishful thinking on my part. this is the one thing i'm hopeful they'll do correctly, because THEY couldn't fuck this up too bad. unless they put the Bischoff match on it Trish DVD? better be a muff piece as opposed to fluff piece if they want me to buy it. inappropriate, yet still accurate. Brock? good on them cashing in on him early, but it will suck.

Benoit and Eddy have been there since 2000 and the WWE hasn't come out with a video or dvd for them? But Trish is going to get one?Vince still thinks that the wwe fans are nothing more than lonely perverted guys. How about an RVD or a Kurt Angle dvd???????? Guest godthedog Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Flair Vs Bret-Ironman match (if possible, or the title change) this would never, ever happen. the wwf's production team wouldn't touch it with a 10-foot pole because the VQ is so horrid, and would frankly make the team look amateurish. it is one of my favorite matches ever, but it does not belong on a high-quality flair dvd. Guest Shanghai Kid Report post Posted June 27, 2003 The truth is, nobody outside of net geeks would buy an Eddie or Benoit dvd. It would probably be the lowest selling dvd that the WWE puts out. The common fan could care less about Eddie and Benoits great matches. None of them have any good promos or anything that would entertain the common fan. Now a Rock dvd, that sells because you have good matches and great promos. Trish is the number one diva, and since Sable got her own video, why can't she? She's certainly more interesting than Eddie or Benoit.
Guest godthedog Report post Posted June 27, 2003 benoit needs another feud with angle a world title, and a deeper character before he warrants his own dvd. and the feud with angle would have to be better than his last two.

The common fan could care less about Eddie and Benoits great matches. Yeah, only net geeks cheered Benoit in Boston and gave him a standing O. And boy, Eddy's just boring the hell out of the "common fan" these days. There must be lots of new "net geeks." WWE ran almost all its "common fans" away. It wouldn't hurt. I think Canada alone would turn a huge profit on the DVDs. Trish is the number one diva, and since Sable got her own video, why can't she? She's certainly more interesting than Eddie or Benoit. Not on the ring, not on the mic. She's not going to be nude in the video and there are bikini pictures of her practically everywhere. Who gives a shit? Besides, she's horribly overexposed and they've been depushing her lately.

Guest Lord of The Curry Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Benoit hasn't done enough to warrant a DVD? Watch out, champ. Here's your Benoit DVD the way it SHOULD be done (not the way the WWE will do it.) Chapter One: Growing Up and the Early Years in Stampede. Benoit discusses how he fell in love with Pro Wrestling, getting invovled in the amateur game and weightlifting. Flashbacks to his days training in Stampede, throw in a token match clip. Chapter Two: Journey to the Orient. Intercut interviews with Dean and Eddy talking about Chris with clips of Benoit in New Japan. Heavy focus on his J-Cup win over Sasuke in 1994. Chapter Three: Benoit returns to North America/Benoit in ECW. This chapter deals with his indy work, but mainly focuses on his ECW stuff, specifically the original Triple Threat w/ Malenko and Douglas. Chapter Four: WCW-bound. This should be the biggest chapter in the DVD, with focus on his work w/ Malenko, Booker and Raven. Throw in some stuff w/ Flair and the Horsemen too. Chapter Five: Benoit arrives in the WWF/E. Cover his entire career up until now, with focuses on his feuds with Angle, Austin and Jericho. DVD Extras: - Chris Benoit vs Jushin Lyger, WCW Starcade 95. - Chris Benoit vs Booker T, WCW Great American Bash 98. - Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko vs Raven and Saturn, WCW Spring Stampede 99. - 10 Man Tag Match from RAW in Dalls, TX. Benoits first match in the WWF/E. Triple H, X-Pac, Perry Saturn, Dean Malenko and Chris Benoit vs Rikishi, Scotty 2 Hotty, Grandmaster Sexay, The Rock and Cactus Jack. - Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho vs Steve Austin and HHH, WWF Tag Title Match, San Jose. - Chris Benoit vs Steve Austin, Smackdown in Edmonton. - Chris Benoit vs Kurt Angle, Royal Rumble 2003. DVD Easter Eggs: - Benoit and Jericho's "Stand Back!" promo on Vince McMahon. - Benoit sit-down interview/promo before his match w/ Kurt Angle on Smackdown for the WWE Title 2 weeks after Royal Rumble 2003. Guest godthedog Report post Posted June 27, 2003 i'm not saying a benoit dvd wouldn't be great, i'm just saying he's not a big enough player or personality to have a dvd that would sell a lot.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 27, 2003 Well they could, you know, try to make him one. Hell, you could have the DVD compliment the push - as if to say "Chris Benoit is a Big Deal, he's done a lot of stuff in his career that you all should take a look at - here's a DVD" and GET people to buy it. What a crazy concept. Oh wait, that would mean he'd have to win sometimes, and not have to put-over pieces of shit. Can't have that.
