If the WWE did test for drugs...

Recommended Posts

Guest wrestlingbs

I was thinking about this after Piper got fired for what he said on HBO. Now, I really don't think Vince fired the guy because he admitted to taking drugs (more like he badmouthed the company), but supposed tomarrow every state, all of a sudden, decided that drug and steroid tests were manditory. What would Vince do? Who do you think would come up positive, and what would Vince would do with them both onscreen and off?

They do test for drugs. That's why Jeff Hardy got fired.

That's the official company line, anyway...

They test when they have "probable cause".

Didn't Jeff refuse to go to rehab, and that's why they let him go?

When WWE tells you that they're giving you a drug test, it's probably their subtle way of saying "You're doing too many."

I think I read that WWE doesn't have to have their wrestlers take drug tests in NY, because the state commision or whatever knows that if Vince knows they are taking drugs, they will be asked to go to rehab or fired. I may be wrong, but meh.

The government are happy with WWE's drug policy, where in if found out they are sent to rehab or fired. Simple as that, keeps everyone happy Vince and the Government.

The standard line is that if you are caught doing drugs, you are offered a chance to go to rehab on Vince's dime and then come back to the company with no problems. I know Regal did several stints in rehab before coming back during 2000 and that was the reason why Jeff Hardy was fired, for not taking the rehab offer.

Essentially, the company policy is that as long as you do rehab and don't fall apart and do something embarrassing (like a public freak-out or getting busted with drugs by the cops) the WWE will stand by you.

I actually think Vince's policy is damn good for an employee. If you're cuaght doing drugs you get a second chance by going to rehab, and coming back like nothing happened. Also, you dont pay a dime of it. Find me any place out there that does the same. How many chances did Road Dogg, Eddie Guerrero, Scott Hall, and others get...plenty

If they want to get rid of you, they'll do a drug test.

That reminds me, what was the deal with WWE returning to Oregon a few weeks back? Doesn't Oregon require them to drug test?

HHH, Scott Steiner, Batista, Test, Los Guerreros, and Benoit would probably fail a test for steroids and be in hot water. It's funny how nobody looks at Benoit as a roid guy because he's only 5'10" or whatever...just look at the muscle mass that the guy has added since showing up in WWE. Ditto for Eddie.

And is it any coincidence that Chavo Guerrero has beefed way, way up and simultaneously started to bald and tear muscles? I think not.

Benoit and Eddy were both doing them before they were even in the WWF/E.

Hell, Angle's probably does/done them, as well. Don't forget Rock from 98/99(although he's pretty stopped).

Yeah, Eddie went from pudgy to RIPPED while he was in WCW. Then he went from ripped to ripped and huge in his second run with WWE. You ever see his mug shot? Says he ways 250, and he's supposed to be 5'7" legit. I COULD buy Angle as being natural because he's such a freak of nature, but when you take into account the WWE road schedule and the fact that he went bald all of a sudden...yeah, Angle's guilty as hell. We also forgot Sean O'Haire.

The last thing the government wants to do is waste more money on an industry that most people in the media would make fun of the government for even giving a shit about.

The funny thing is, WWE could cut down huge on injuries by eliminating steroids from their locker room...or at least trying. There is always ways around a drug test, but you can use your own two fucking eyeballs in some cases (Steiner, HHH, Batista).

The government is like an elephant. It never forgets, especially when someone like Vince loves to brag about beating the system.....
