Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted June 30, 2003 Who needs a new album out soon? Who's taken too much time off? Don't list anyone who just put something out. The Offspring...they're rumored to have an album come out this summer. Called "CHINESE DEMOCRACY." There was talks of a lawsuit from Axl, but I don't know if anything came of that. Their last album came out in 2000. When reached for comment, The Offspring's front man/vocalist, DEXTER HOLLAND, said "You snooze, you lose." Holland further added, "AXL [ROSE] ripped-off my braids, so I ripped-off his album title." Greenday...they've lazyassed the last two albums, one was a greatest hits and the other was a collection of b-sides. Ash...this might be my new favorite band. Free All Angels was a great cd and it came out in 2001. No studio album since. Dynamite Hack...last I knew they finished an album well over a year ago without a record deal. I loved Superfast. Haven't heard anything about them in a while.
Guest Ten Ton Lid Report post Posted June 30, 2003 I could get into a new Buckethead album. Bucket of Bernie Brains sounds like it's going to be cool, but I needs a solo album, dammit! It's been like two years since Somewhere Over The Slaughterhouse.
rising up out of the back seat-nuh 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2003 Ash...this might be my new favorite band. Free All Angels was a great cd and it came out in 2001. No studio album since. Ash released a "best of" last summer. With a new single on it. I wouldn't expect a new album till the spring, but considering they were almost on the heap until "free all angels", they'd be wise not to leave it too much longer The Prodigy and GnR need new albums out, just so that they can get into the groove of being a band. Same with Prince. Also, more original Aphex be nice. And The Parkinsons really should but their debut out soon.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted June 30, 2003 I've yet to see that in stores. Is it just an overseas thing? Since they've had almost no "hits" in the US. And Kenny Wayne Shepherd needs a new cd too.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted June 30, 2003 Fiona Apple. It's suppose to be released in September.

Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted June 30, 2003 'Recent' being anything past 2000, I take it? I don't really have any favorites of mine (#1 System, #2. Tool, #3. Nirvana) that haven't put out an album recently, though I want System to come out with a new album after that avant-garde record Serj Tanjkian put out (SERART). I'm kind of the opinion now that even though you may feel some bands 'need' a new album out, there's so much music out there already that you can learn to love and/or respect, or might like but just never checked out. Just my opinion. And I agree on the Offspring thing, after Americana, they've kinda fell off the earth. I hope they go back more to Smash more than the poppy Americana. Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted June 30, 2003 I so do not remember Conspiracy of One ever exisiting. I guess it was that forgettable... Actually it was better then Americana. "Original Prankster" was the only big song off it. Want You Bad Million Miles Away Dammit, I Changed Again Denial Revisited all those were pretty good off Conspiracy

I only remember it because I saw them promoting it at Reading Festival last August.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted June 30, 2003 Ok, now that looks familar. I almost got it at Borders last week but they wanted something like $28 for it.
Guest godthedog Report post Posted June 30, 2003 tool could always use a new album. this pretentious, kubrick-like "one album every four years" shit just doesn't cut it for me. bjork needs a new one as well. i would say tori needs a new album, but she just released one last year and she makes shit now anyway, so i'll refrain. i would LOVE for sarah mclachlan to come out of her seclusion and release another 'fumbling towards ecstasy', but i don't think she has it in her anymore either. the new ween album has been delayed and delayed and delayed, and it's royally pissing me off. Exactly. She will never top Fumbling Towards Ecstasy. That's how good it is.

Want You Bad Million Miles Away Dammit, I Changed Again Denial Revisited all those were pretty good off Conspiracy I actually like Americana better than Conspiracy of One (though interestingly enough, I bought the latter despite liking the former better). CoO always sounds phoned in to me. Oh, and as for who needs a new album...that Beatles band out of Britain needs to get off their lazy asses and record some new material. If they were able to successfully record several albums with Paul being dead, it shouldn't be too much of a problem recording a new album with Paul, John AND George being dead. Maybe they can get that Pete Best fellow to help them out, he's gonna go far some day. Or maybe bring in Stu Sutcliffe and have an all dead Beatles band. And have John title it something witty like Coffin' Up Some Hits...Your Favorite Dead Band, The Beatles!

Exactly. She will never top Fumbling Towards Ecstasy. That's how good it is. it's not really an issue of that, cause you can make one of the best albums ever and then still go on to top yourself. the beatles did this a couple times. it's just that she never made anything even in that range before or after, and hasn't even released any original material in over 5 years. Guest Harry Hood Report post Posted June 30, 2003 I would like a new Floyd album because, as much as the music would never hold up as good as the older stuff, it would constitute a tour to accompany it, which is acutally what I owuld want.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted June 30, 2003 Fozzy should record an entire album of originals, as the few originals off of Happenstance were really good tunes. Even though the latest Shadows Fall was just released last year, I can't wait for the next one.
Guest justsoyouknow Report post Posted June 30, 2003 AC/DC needs to release a new album pretty soon....Stiff Upper Lip was a bit of a letdown, and I heard back in like February that they were supposed to release a new album at the end of April, but that was the last that I heard of it. Also, Tenacious D needs a new CD, so I can mark out like a little bitch.

Exactly, me and my Dad are looking to go to see Waters or Gilmour but their shows are few and far between. I heard Roger was touring the U.S. next summer, but i'm in England so that's no good. Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted June 30, 2003 DEFINITELY a new Tool album. Sadly, we've got to wait for the new A Perfect Circle before that. A new Slayer would be nice, but they're usually pretty timely when it comes to putting new stuff out. Also, God Hates Us All is indeed really damn good. It's got it's iffy tracks that remind me too much of Diabolus in Musica, but the good stuff is REALLY good, like "Exile," "Disciple," and "Payback."

I was just going to mention Sarah in this thread. Her new album is rumored to be out late this year, but I really have my doubts about that. She was in the studio last year creating some new stuff though. Vincent De Moor really needs to do another album. At least he is back on the scene with three new tracks so far this year. Guest kingkamala Report post Posted June 30, 2003 Fozzy should record an entire album of originals, as the few originals off of Happenstance were really good tunes. I concur, plus Jericho should take three or four months off and do a full scale Fozzy tour. I think Fozzy would be a good fit as a second stage act on Ozzfest, many of the fans who go to Ozzfest watch WWE and they'd be at least familiar with Fozzy.
